6. What Do You Think?
"We'll start with the beverages!" Hyunbin announced and four waiters walked out through the glass door with trays of drinks in their hands.
Victor was the first one to pick up a spoon and lifting a small scoop of the drink and stuffing his mouth. Silently closing his eyes,he hummed and made faces as he savoured the flavours but grunted in dissatisfaction at the end.
"Too sweet for my liking!" He muttered with a sour expression.
"Allow me, Mr Russell!" Jimin interfered with a smile and walked closer to the table and stood beside YN's seat.
So subtle.
Yoongi bit back a snort and stared at him with a curious gaze. He now is definitely sure that this Park guy is interested in YN. But he would like to observe him more.
Jimin picked up an olive with the spoon and placed it in the drink, half crushing and then mixing it. He gave Victor a knowing look and the man again tried the drink. But instead of frowning, a surprised expression stretched on his face.
The others followed him and sported a satisfied smile on their faces. YN's brows twitched as she felt something sweet and sour on her tongue. W-what! H-how i-is it p-possible?
And she immediately put the glass away. Good thing no one noticed that.
"This cocktail has been created in a way so that the ones with sweet tooths can also enjoy without any worry and the fear of getting drunk quickly!" Jimin explained with a proud smile.
"Good to know, Mr Park!" YN finally spoke softly making Victor scowl at
her soft tongue. He looked at the couple for an explanation but Hoseok mouthed him later!
"I think I'd like my people decide on the menu! I'd rather enjoy the view instead." YN spoke, giving the three men a knowing eye and slowly and away from there.
"I can show you around if you don't mind!" Jimin offered catching up with her steps. He was in no way letting this opportunity escape to get to know her more.
"I'll glad Mr......."
"Call me Jimin, please!" Jimin smiled and led her through the stairs. To the highest rooftop parlour, he's never till date allowed anyone to enter. Except himself.
The interior looked quite modern and luxurious.
"Fancy!" YN spoke looking around the room. Everything in here screamed luxury.
"Ah!" Jimin smiled awkwardly, scratching his head and spoke. "I-I built this part with the reward money when I won the Best Traditional Korean Chef! So kind of went overboard!" The pride and joy clearly showing on his face
Jimin laughed, somewhat embarrassed of his boasting. YN looked at him with a small smile.
"Don't be embarrassed of achievements! Instead, wear them with pride."
Jimin's lips stretched into a wide smile and his chest puffed up a bit in pride. Genuinely happy that someone actually did not assume his pride of achievement as arrogance.
"You didn't like the food?" Jimin asked hesitantly after a bit of contemplating on his thoughts.
YN looked at him with her lips pressed into a thin line.
"I can't taste taste or feel flavours. But it doesn't mean you are a bad chef. My friends are surely enjoying your delicacies!
Even if I couldn't." Until you came!
She smiled half-heartedly. She herself didn't know what is going on with her. Everytime this man is around, she acts out of her character. Something she wouldn't let happen no matter what.
Her former psychiatrist once said that it might just be a psychological problem.
Jimin looked at her stunned.
"I-I... Yo.. I'm s-sorry!" The man turned pale at her words. He squeked out the words out of his throat, his body in shock and mouth failed to provide thoughts further.
A sudden rush of guilt hit his chest and his lips trembled.
YN smiled at the stunned man and waved her hand in the air dismissing the awkwardness.
"Oh, please don't mind me! I've been given the worst reactions. You're reacting way better than anyone ever did."
"Just because you don't mind doesn't mean you don't get hurt! No one has the right to hurt to you for something you can't control." Jimin literally growled and the woman almost shrieked at his outburst.
Too pure for this dirty world. YN thought and smiled. Almost genuinely. Something she hadn't done in years. But the man in front of her has been breaking down the walls around her heart little by little, which she didn't even know she still had.
The faint glistening moisture in Jimin's eyes spoke volumes to her. Before she could react, he was fast enough to wrap her in his arms into a firm warm hug. YN's body went rigid. Almost like a rock.
Jimin didn't care but kept somewhat caressing her head and patting her back in comfort.
As if telling her You've been doing good.
And she let out a long breath, easing in his arms.
Jimin realized his actions and immediately freed her out of his arms. Cheeks flaring red in embarrassment as he saw YN looking elsewhere trying to avoid his eyes.
"I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me." Jimin apologized ashamed.
He has definitely blowed up his chances of asking her out.
As if on cue, YN asked "Shall we grab a cup of coffee sometime?"
Jimin looked at her with wide eyes and nodded enthusiastically. That made YN smirk at his eagerness.
"I-I mean why n-not!" Jimin answered with a silly smile.
The two sat down on the couch, maintaining a professional distance. YN released an inaudible sigh and Jimin finally noticed the slight hint of tiredness all over her frame.
Her brows mildly furrowed, shoulders hunched and arms limp.
Her eyes blinking tiredly as she kept struggling to stay awake.
"I'll get you some water!" Jimin offered and YN only nodded in agreement. She was still processing the incident from earlier. It's been years since she tasted anything at all.
So denial only seemed to be the best option at the moment. And it's not like she's going to meet Jimin after tonight anymore. So, more reasons to put stop at the silly assumptions of things.
Victor glared down at the shorter male in distaste.
"Still no reason to let an unknown man wandering near her!"
"Don't you dare make this about yourself Victor! I'm very aware of your guilt manipulation tricks. Jeon needs someone who sees eye to eye as her. Someone who has faith in her decisions and is willing to stand by her at any cost. And that's not you!"
Yoongi spoke glaring back at him with the same intensity, eyes darker than usual. Like hell would he take bullshits from someone like him. In his eyes, he's one of the major reason YN's sufferings.
"Oh yeah!" Victor retorted back. "What would you know about that? A born silver spoon brat who couldn't even protect himself!"
"Atleast I'm not an entitled whiny bitch who goes berserk if things don't work in my favor!" Yoongi spat out disgustingly.
"You're the reason she is suffering and you feel the suffocation of your own guilt which is why you try to coddle her like some infant!
News flash!
This is the man I believe, can heal her and fight by her side. And hopefully teach her how to love! And I will bring hell upon whoever dares to poke their noses in between."
Victor huffed and looked away. He still remembers how he went crazy when YN told his father, the Russian mafia lord of Bratva of her decision to move back to Japan for personal reasons.
The man had gone mad ruining everything in his way, even setting off explosives just to express his displeasure.
Only he didn't knew that YN was in that very laboratory, cooking up some narcotics as an experiment. And he happened to set the very warehouse on explosion.
YN was lucky enough to survive physically and mentally, but the woman lost her ability to taste.
And that was the beginning of his attempts to shadow her from potential harms.
"She has forgiven you long ago man. If that's what you needed all along." Yoongi spoke with a small smile. "But you're not what she needs in a man."
Victor scoffed. "And that flower boy is!" He taunted.
"Maybe he is!" A soft voice interrupted their banter. Hoseok smiled at the frowning man as he softly snuggled into his fiancé's arms.
"Everyone yearns for love, even the devil king of hell himself. No matter how much they deny."
Victor's eyes immediately softened seeing the younger's smile and his eyes twinkle in mischief. "If my doll says so!" He winked at him and Yoongi hissed at him in return.
Jimin kept staring at YN without a blink of eyes as the women in front of her slept carefree, soft puffs of breath escaping her lips.
Hey could see the traces of tiredness all over her body. The painful grunts, incoherent mumbles, and the constant twists and turns to find a comfortable position in her sleep.
Jimin wanted nothing more than to keep admiring her at the moment but knew better than that. He knows that he will have another opportunities in future to do so.
So he quietly walked out of the parlour and came back with the three men that had accompanied YN for the evening.
"Good to know that you're not a pervert that stares at a defenceless woman in their sleep!" Victor barks with no bite behind his words.
"You may rest your worries Mr Russell! I was raised to be a respectful man in a woman's presence." Jimin smirked at him with a raised brow.
Victor ignored his cocky attitude and picked the woman carefully in his arms, her head resting on his chest.
"Take care of her for the time being, Mr Russell! Please convey to her that we'll soon be having that promised cup of coffee!"
Jimin softly yelled from behind and Victor walked out of there with quick pace. Yoongi looked at him with squinted eyes and Jimin awkwardly rubbing his head, bowing good bye.
"Cofee!" Hoseok yelped in excitement as the four entered the car.
Yeah yeah, whatever!" Yoongi rolled his eyes and leaned back in his seat to close his eyes.
"I still don't like that man!" Victor declared his displeasure.
"I do!" Yoongi spoke. Just to get on his nerves.
"Shut up........." YN slurred in her sleep, unknowingly and effectively shutting off their bickering
Hoseok giggled quietly and softly patted her head, lulling her back to slumber.
On the other hand, same night Jimin was rolling around on his bed and grinning like a fool to himself.
The man couldn't believe that YN herself asked him out for a coffee date.
"Yikes!"
He squeled and buried himself under the duvet, kicking his limbs in the air.
Next Day
Ruby Corp.
The atmosphere of the Ruby Corp felt too cold and heavy for some reasons. The higher ups looked like they've been walking on burning grounds. No one knows why The Kim Seokjin is fuming up and bursting out at anyone who happens to fall under his gaze.
The employees sighed when the head designer ran out of the Ceo's office sniffing hard and eyes red.
As if the heaven heard their prayers, man walked in on same floor and and asked around for the Ceo's office. One of them pointed out the direction and the man walked towards the said room without waiting for anyone's approval.
Seokjin's p.a was quick to rush behind him but the said stranger had already stepped into the Ceo's office.
"I told you not to disturb me, you dumb waste of space!" Seokjin roared slamming his palms on the table.
Before the terrified assistant could utter a word, the stranger interrupted.
"Don't mind him Mr Kim! I'm just a very sneaky man who knows to get his work done!" The man spoke proudly with a cocky smile on his face.
"And your introduction, Mr?" Jin asked rubbing his forehead to relieve his headache.
"Jung Hoseok from Venom Corp. I bear an invitation from YN Jeon, the chairwoman of Venom Corporation!" Hoseok placed the box he's carrying, right infront of Seokjin.
"An Auction Gala has been held this coming friday on Valentines day and Miss Jeon hopes for your presence there! Ofcourse with your plus one!"
Seokjin looked at him with a raised brow as he opened the box infront of him.
A pair of classic royal blue masks sitting very carefully.
Seokjin picked up the masks and examined them.
A small smirk stretched out on his lips.
"You could have just mailed this here! Why bother to bring it on your own?"
Hoseok who was now looking around the cabin with his hands in his pocket turned around to answer him.
"Oh! Our Ceo told me that you're one of the VIPs. And we at Last Venom take the ranks seriously!"
"Also your cabin AC seems to have hygiene issues!" Hoseok looked at him somewhat disgusted and scrunched his nose.
"Perhaps I hoped too much from a simple fashion brand!
I should take my leave now. A few errands to run and a fiancé to coax!"
Hoseok straightened himself and turned around with a subtle nod of head and walked out of the room without waiting for an answer.
"See! Even an outsider could tell the problem after staying in this room from barely two minutes!" Jin snapped at his p.a who cowered in his place with an oblivious frown.
"Get the ac ventilation cleaned and air out the room within an hour or Im'ma bitchslap you!" Seokjin roared at him and the man scrambled out of the room within seconds.
"Jeon!" Seokjin growled lowly, staring at the invitation card and clenched his jaw.
"Just who are you woman? It cannot be a simple coincidence!"
Before he could get lost into his thoughts,a small knocking on the door made him scowl again.
"Come in already!"
Lee Jaehwan, his head legal counselor stepped in with a coy look on his face.
Seokjin looked at him annoyed and the man hurriedly sat down, opening his file and gave him a couple sheets.
"We might have a little problem sir!"
Seokjin skimmed through the paper as he heard Jaehwan speak further.
"Some of the potential investors have backed off after making some unreasonable demands.
Also I have caught up the air about few of our major shareholders frequently meeting among themselves for some reasons. One of them has sold out their shares to someone named Jung Nara!"
"W-what did you say!" Seokjin's head snapped at him and the other got scared at his sudden outburst.
"About the shareholders........" Seokjin cut him off with another outburst.
"The name, you bonehead!" He shouted again.
"J-Jung Nara, Sir!" Jaehwan stuttered in fear, sensing the sudden change of mood of the Ceo.
"Get lost!"
"Y-yes s-sir!" The lawyer scrambled on his feet and ran out of there, too scared to face the fuming Ceo's wrath.
Seokjin picked the paperweight and smashed it right onto the glass tea table, effectively breaking it into shards.
And screamed out loud in anger. The slightly parted door happened to allow his scream reached the employees ears.
And they felt a sudden rush of chill running down their bones.
Angry Kim Seokjin never has been a good news for them.
Seokjin's secratary rushed inside, closing the door to find the ruins of furnitures his boss created.
The LED screen broken, the couch and pillows shredded and the glass table smashed into million of pieces.
Sanduel took a deep breath and looked at Seokjin who was breathing angrily, staring out of the window.
He could feel his headache surfacing slowly.
"Sir!" He fished carefully. The man didn't answer.
"Jin!" Sanduel called again and the latter turned around. He gasped seeing Jin's face. The man's eyes were red and face stained with tears. It's been way long he's seen the man infront of him crying over something.
Last time he saw the other cry was when he held his son in his arms for the first time.
"S-she is b-back! She is g-going to take him away f-from me! I don't want to be alone again! I-I w-will d-die!" Jin stuttered trembling in his place and slumped down on the floor. The other was quick to prevent him from getting hurt. Seokjin wailed out loudly unable to conceal his hiccups.
"Look at me, Seokjinie!" Sanduel grabbed him by his shoulders, shaking him slowly and asked him in a firm voice.
"Who's back Seokjin? Tell me! Who's it that's scaring you so much?"
Seokjin looked at him with tired eyes for a long time and whispered.
"That Jung's Twin!"
