Hiccups pov:

After me and Astrid land down from our flight I manage to convince her not to tell my father about the nest, now we are sat at the cove watching toothless play.

"What am I going to do Astrid? I can't kill a dragon" she hummed in agreement. I sigh and lay my head on her shoulder "what if I just... quit tell everyone I'm to afraid and go back to being the runt I was?" "That could work hiccup but do you want that? Do you want to be that runt again? Have everyone down upon you?" "No... what if I tame the nightmare during the fight!" "In front of all the Vikings? Won't work they would kill too for treason"

We sit in silence for a bit just enjoying the peace "i have an idea... and I don't think you're going to like this Astrid... I'll tell you tomorrow for now I'm going to go sleep!"

The next day I wake up and start to put my plan in motion. I write a letter for Astrid explaining what im doing, I then pack some clothes, some designs and my dagger before grabbing some snacks.

Around midday when I know everyone will be in the great hall I sneak into astrids house and leave the note on her bed before running to the cove.

Once there I grab some fish out of a basket I placed there the day before and feed toothless. After thirty minutes I get in his back "alright bud... it's time for us to leave..." toothless coos at me and starts to take off looking down I spot the blonde hair of Astrid down in the cove and with a deep breath me and toothless are gone.

Astrid pov:
I was sat in the great hall with the other teens just listening to all the Viking's talk about how hiccup is so great. You weren't say that two weeks ago were you? Bunch of fakes. Even my group of twins are fakes! Snotlout, ruffnut, tuffnut all talking about how great hiccup is and how they always believed in him. Right... that's what you meant when you called him useless and beat him yeah? The only ones I know who are telling the truth are gobber and fishlegs.

I stand up having enough of this. Snotlout suddenly speaks up "where are you going babe?" Having enough of him I say "the day I'm your babe is the day the world ends" I growl at him and leave heading back to my place, I say hello to my parents before entering my room to find a letter with my name on it.

Dear Astrid
Thank you for being there for me, thank you for trusting me and going on that flight with me. It was one of the best moments of my life up there with you and toothless, my best friend... and my crush... I guess since I won't be here I might as well come clean. I love you Astrid I have for a while but I've always been to scared to admit especially with Snotlout claiming you.

The whole purpose for this letter is to say I'm leaving. Going away. Running off. Starting anew. However you want to say it. After I deliver this letter I'm heading straight for the cove and going.

Once again, thank you for everything
Hiccup.

I blink back tears as I slowly place the letter down. As hiccups words finally entered my mind I take off leaving me house and running for the cove. But it was to late, by the time I got there all I could see was his legs dangling by the sides of toothless... I never got the chance to tell him that I love him.

Hiccup Pov:
It has been a month since I've left, so far I've settled down on a nice island that I've called dragons edge, all these dragons I've freed come to live here, recently I became friends with another dragon rider, Heather. She has came to live with me.

Another shocking person living here is Eret son of Eret, he was a former dragon hunter who befriended a dragon and switched sides. We have been getting our information from two sourced trader Johan and Dagur the deranged who turned out to be heathers brother.

The most shocking person living here is my mother. That's right my mother valka, first to ride a dragon apparently, and with her and my other friends help I've put on a but of muscle and learned to fight.

However today is going to be tough, today is the day I go back to berk. I'm going to be giving Astrid a dragon of her own, a deadly nadder. Let's hope it won't take to long to find her.

Astrids pov:
It's been hard since hiccups left, he has been declared dead by all of berk, since there was no body some of his possessions were burnt instead. As soon as People thought he was killed by a dragon all the insults came back, it was tough to hear them all I wanted to do was stick my axe into there chests!

Most days since hiccups left I've come to sleep in the cove, the same place we sat after our flight. I close my eyes getting ready for another restless sleep having nightmares about hiccup dying and dreams where he canes and sweeps me away.

I hear it, the beating of wings, dragon wings. My eyes shoot open as i sit up, I have to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming.

I wasn't, I really am staring into his beautiful green eyes.
