Skyler- Age 12 

It's Friday and me and Elle are packing up at the end of the school day. She's been pestering me all day about coming over to my house. 

I think she's finally given up until we walk out the building and I see she has a smirk on her lips. Oh no. 

"What are you up to?" I say while eying her suspiciously. 

Elle only hums, ignoring me. 

Concluding that she's just being her normal weird self , I decide not to question her any further. 

Spotting my parents' grey SUV in the school parking lot, I start walking towards it. 

"Bye Elle." 

I get no response. 

"Elsbeth!" 

Elle suddenly picks up her pase beside me. She practically starts running. 

Unfortunately, I don't realize her evil plan until it's to late. 

Elle rushes up to the car door and throws it open. She immediately climes in and motions  for me to follow. 

I stand watching the scene before me with horror. 

"Hi!" 

"Hi Elsbeth, how are you?" My mom greets her with an adoring smile. My dad also waves at her from the passenger seat, not even blinking. My best friend is practically a third daughter to them, they wouldn't find her tagging along weird at all. 

"Great," Elle replies while once again smirking at me. 

Realizing she's won and is coming over to  my house, I finally climb in beside her.

"Are you spending the night Elle?" My dad glances back at her and asks. 

"Yep." 

I internally groan. With Elle, one night will turn into two nights and then however much  longer she can get away with  not going home. Elle's parents may love her, but with 6 kids, they don't  mind if one slips away from home for a few days. As long as Elle gets permission and shows her face at some point, it's fine. And my parents love Elle, they would never tell her no. 

After driving for a while I think of a plan B. 

"Elle, what about your clothes?" I raise my eyebrows at her disheveled uniform. She can't wear her school clothes all weekend. 

Elsbeth unzips her backpack. Of course it's packed with at least four different outfits, underwear and everything.

"Oh don't worry Sky, I'm always prepared."

This is going to be a long weekend.
