CHAP 31 : SILENT LOVE
Terrible.
If there was a word to define her current situation, Y/n would define it as terrible.
A week passed since she had her first fight with Jungkook and yet there was no sort of communication between them. She was busy with her exams and he made it sure that he drowned himself in his work so that he won't get a second free to think about her.
Because everytime he closed his eyes all he could see was her sad face when he left her in the middle of her living room.
Y/n too managed to keep herself busy with her studies, trying not to think about how disappointing Jungkook looked while she made the decision to leave her passion.
But now with the exams completed she had all the time to make it up because now the distance was killing her. There had already been a lot of misunderstanding between them and with them almost a week away without a single glance at each other, she felt like dying.
She thought she could definitely make it up to him today, because tomorrow was his special day. And she wanted to be there with him.
Or so she thought.
The universe had already started pulling strings because just when she was ready to step out of her house to meet Jungkook, she got a call.
A call from the States.
A call from her mother's assistant.
Citing that Aurora was planning to open a new restaurant on exactly the same day as that of Jungkook.
If earlier the things weren't terrible, now they definitely were. Because somewhere she knew that her mother had purposely chosen this day to put her in a situation where she would have to choose between the two most important people of her life.
This was Jungkook's first most important project after coming to Korea. His first restaurant launch. Coincidentally or not coinciding with Aurora's.
With the two biggest hotel chains competing against each other, the entire world would have their eyes on them.
Things were already ugly to add fuels the media left no room for any mending.
Because she knew as the tabs said: AURORA V/S JUNGKOOK was definitely something that would make things take a drastic turn.
But what left her in a haywire was that now she had to choose between her mother and Jungkook. And she knew given the circumstances one would not only be angry with her for not attending their launch but her absence would also create a dent on her relationship with the other.
So there she was sitting on the dining table of Jeon's mansion with Sohee, Gracia and Ivan.
"I don't think you should apologise, Y/n. It's Jungkook's fault of course. Rather than listening to you and trying to sort it out, he just threw tantrums and left you crying." Sohee said with an eye roll. "Even though he's my brother I won't take his side. He shouldn't have bought parents in between all this shit. And not to mention he's the one who has made no contacts with you whatsoever."
"I agree. But his intentions weren't wrong." Gracia objected. "All he wanted was the best for her. He was angry because he did not want Y/n to sacrifice her passion just to prove something to her mother. Dreams are non negotiable, Sohee."
Y/n's head throbbed as she buried her fingers on her scalp, trying to soothe the burning ache.
"You know what, babe." Sohee stamped the table hard. "Just keep him on a sex curfew. Two more days and he will go on his knees and apologise."
Gracia rolled her eyes hard. "That's not how it goes, Sohee. Not everything can be solved with sex."
"Except angry sex and make up sex are the hottest sex in the world." Sohee defended with a shrug.
"I do agree to that." Ivan intervened. "I have seen how hot Jungkook looks when angry. I swear that one time he shook my hand it was so rough and manly and I could only imagine his hand around my dic-" he stopped before he could finish when Sohee snorted.
His eyes went over to Y/n, who looked at him with an expression laced with amusement.
"I mean-" he rubbed the back of his neck. "Don't get me wrong Y/n but I think I have a massive crush on your boyfriend. Like he's so handsome and sexy and that day at Taehyung's party I could see how built he was when you both danced." He licked his lips, his cheeks turning pink. "I completely root for you and him, but if we had a fight, I would have just accepted spanking rather than not seeing his face for a week. Like what in the hell woman! How come you are able to not talk to him for a week?"
Y/n closed her eyes, trying to soothe her headache, not paying attention to where this mindless conversation was going.
"I am telling you, Y/n. You should come to Jungkook's launch tomorrow, dressed up all sexy and nice and give him a silent treatment. Give him blue balls. And he will be running after you the entire night. Trust me, nothing hurts a man's ego more than knowing that you don't give a fuck about him." Sohee said, adding her experience.
To her continuation, Ivan added "And then you can apologise and have a good makeup sex. If not, then a hot angry sex. Because there ain't a chance you won't get banged by his six in-"
"Can you please stop?" Sohee made a disgusted face. "We are here to solve Y/n's problem and not discuss your sexual fantasies about my brother for fucks sake." Sohee added cringing internally.
"Except none of you are helping her in anyway." Gracia interjected. "She has two important relationships of her life hanging and all you both are doing is just uttering complete bullshit from your mouths." Gracia said with a stern voice and with that both of them sank in their respective seats as if being scolded by a teacher.
"Y/n." Gracia turned to her, her features softening gently. "What do you want to do, darling? Where do you want to be tomorrow?"
"I don't know, Gracia." Y/n whispered back, her voice strained and tired. "If I choose only one, the other is definitely going to be hurt. And given the circumstances between my mom and Jungkook it's impossible to make both of them happy. I really don't know what to do." She replied softly, her eyes burning with the pressure of unshed tears. "What would you do if you were in my place?"
Gracia stayed silent for a few minutes, her eyes scrutinising Y/n's features. She could understand her worries. Choosing between the two most important people of her life would never be an easy option. "I would have chosen to stay at a place where my presence would have mattered." Gracia said , her thumb rubbing Y/n's knuckles subtly.
"And how would I know that?"
"You know." Gracia smiled gently. "You already know where you should be, you are just scared to accept it. What happened the other day was sad but both of you weren't at fault. Y/n, fights are common between couples but we have to sort it out and get back together. And right now if a decision can strengthen any of your relationships you should go ahead with that." Gracia sighed, before continuing. "Jungkook has never had anyone in his life so important Y/n. You are the only person he can call his. You are his priority but he has never been anyone's. He's just protecting you in his own way. Trust me, I have seen. Everyone has. That man kisses the floor you walk on. He's already too much in love with you."
"He's not." Y/n interrupted, sniffing a lone tear that passed through her eye.
"He is." Gracia, Sohee and Ivan interrupted together.
Gracia looked back over her shoulder to Sohee and Ivan who passed her winks. "See. We all agree to that. His past and his ego are just too much into denial that he can fall in love. That's what is stopping him from being completely free and accepting his love for you." Gracia pulled her chair closer to Y/n's. "This is your relationship, Y/n. And you should only do what you feel is appropriate for both of you but I can just say that irrespective of whatever decision you take, try to mend your issues faster, because we all know how miserable you are without each other."
Gracia was right. They were miserable without each other because only she knew how much she missed his cosy hugs, his soft kisses, his teasing touches and the warmth of him. And just the smell of him like home.
"You are right." Y/n smiled gleefully at Gracia. "I should be where I belong."
An hour passed and the four of them chatted, until Sohee cursed out loud to gain everyone's attention.
"Fuck." She cursed and looked straight ahead at Y/n's shoulder at the man walking by the door. Y/n looked at Sohee and with the sound of footsteps approaching her, it was no surprise to who had just entered the house.
Sohee still looked absolutely shook because there was no way Jeon Jungkook was at their house during the afternoon when he had his busiest hours at this time.
"Jungkook." Sohee breathed, going over to him "What are you doing here?"
"I am here to fetch some files from the library." He said in his deep voice. Y/n's fingers curled around her fork because fuck she missed his voice so bad. The deep, dark voice was engulfed in stern softness.
She still had her back facing him, but once she turned her face to stand and look at him, their eyes locked and the entire world slowed down.
Jungkook sucked a gulp of air entrapping it in his throat. Y/n looked at him and if not earlier, now she definitely realised how much she missed him. His coat was hanging around his arm, his tie loose and sleeves folded to give her a glimpse of his veins. She wanted to run to him so badly, feel his warmth, his heat and inhale his fragrance.
None of them spoke anything, continuing to look at each other as the world slowed down.
Gracia passed over a look to Sohee that had them moving out of the room immediately. Sohee had to drag Ivan out of the room who was drooling over the sight of Jungkook.
Now they were alone in the room. In an eerie silence.
His feet moved towards her only to be stopped inches in front of her.
"Hi." She said softly now, noticing the tension underneath his shoulders and the bags under his eyes.
"Hi." He replied, his dark voice making her curl her fingers around the chair. She needed to hold something to prevent herself from throwing herself in his arms.
"I- Umm-"
"Have you bought your tickets?" He asked, his voice emotionless.
"Sorry?" She whispered, her face stretching in a frown.
"Haven't you read the news? Your mother is having a restaurant launch tomorrow. I'm sure you must be invited." His voice held an icy tone.
"I did. But it's also your restaurant launching tomorrow."
"Have you decided where you want to be tomorrow?" He asked, his voice laced with a hope of her choosing to be by his side.
"No." She replied, shaking her head.
"Fine." He said gruffly, turning his heels only to be stopped by her soft hand wrapping around his. The sensation of her softness brought shivers down his spine.
"But I can do what you want me to do." She said ever so softly it almost sounded like a whisper. "If you don't want me to go, just say the word and I won't."
A muscle feathered around his jaw, "I want you to take your own decisions Y/n. I want to be your wish, not your option. And in no way would I ever dictate you to take your decisions according to my will."
And with those words he turned his heels to get his papers in the library, leaving Y/n stranded alone in the room.
Now that she had spoken to him she was very clear of what she wanted.
She had made her decision.
So wasting no other second, she picked her cell dialling a number. A call to her mother's assistant.
"Hey, Drew. It's me, Y/n."
