chapter 6 | concentrate

As soon as the last (mutual) class of their school day was over, Chayoung packed up her things and left the classroom immediately. She felt weird being in the same class as a guy who seemed to be a regular at a strip club; which she worked at; as a stripper.

Chayoung even deliberated on whether or not to apply for another class, but she needed this class to get a better life. She needed to know more about economy and finance, because knowledge about exactly that did not run in the blood.

So she decided to stay in the class.

To be frank, the girl wasn't even disappointed in her classmate. She knew men; always thinking with their dicks. And she would bet a lot of money (that she didn't have) that Jungkook did the exact same thing when asking them to pair up.

He probably thought it would be easy to get into her pants — which is ironic because it is, but maybe he should've tried another way than to be a douche. He should've just paid her at the club.

"Wait! Chayoung!" A male voice sounded behind her just as she had left the class in a hurried manner.

She already knew who the voice belonged to, just by its desperate sound.

"Chayoung, wait." Jungkook's hand wrapped around her shoulder and the impact of her trying to shrug it off but his grip being surprisingly strong, forced her to turn around and face him.

She wasn't disappointed, because he was a man, but she was still mad.

"Is that why you wanted to work with me on that fucking assignment?" She asked, but she already knew the answer.

"What?" Jungkook panted out.

The girl couldn't keep her eyes from rolling over at his stupid act.

"Because you think I'm easy? Is that it? Do you want a private strip show or something?" Chayoung slapped herself mentally after raising her voice a bit. She didn't want to create unnecessary attention and especially not about the strip part. No one could know.

"No. It's nothing like that Chayoung." Jungkook spoke with a hint of frustration in his voice. He hated that she thought that of him, but really he couldn't blame her.

Chayoung didn't fail to notice Jungkook's frustrated state and felt offended by that, "Don't you think I'm humiliated enough that you know about it? You're also fucking enjoying it! How great is that?" The girl was sarcastic.

Although... she would lie if she said she didn't like his eyes on her. And that she hadn't actually seen him watching before their eyes met that night.

Even though Chayoung hated men, she couldn't deny that Jungkook was very attractive. And even so seemed to be just her type, because for once, she wouldn't mind if he actually bought her for a night.

And maybe that's also why the girl felt embarrassed about Jungkook knowing about her job.

Because if he didn't know, she would've actually had a chance to talk to him as just another student and another girl trying to catch his eye for good.

But right now, she felt mad.

"I fucking hate my job, do you know that? I want to forget about it whenever I can, but now just looking at you reminds me of it." The girl spoke through gritted teeth, trying not to make others hear.

"Chayoung calm down."

"Who are you to tell me what to do? Since I'm a stripper you think you can just-"

"Chayoung shut up!" Jungkook whisper-yelled and put his hand over the girl's mouth stopping her prejudges from welling over him and stopping her from exposing herself in the middle of the school hallways.

"Respectfully, shut up. Listen to me." Jungkook's voice was low and intriguing. It almost made Chayoung actually want to give the guy a chance to explain himself.

But instead she shook out of his hands covering her mouth and turned around. She was ready to escape this conversation.

"I'm not the type of guy to go to a place like that." Jungkook had grabbed the girl's wrist, preventing her from running away.

She didn't turn around to look at him.

What a pile of bullshit, every guy is, she thought

But she didn't walk away either, and Jungkook noticed that.

"My friends they... kind of forced me there."

Chayoung fought to not let out a chuckle. She turned around, crossing her arms over her chest. Jungkook couldn't help but look down as she did so; propping up her breasts.

"What a pathetic try Jungkook. Even now you can't seem to get your perverted thoughts out of your head." She spoke. She noticed his low gaze.

"Chayoung believe me. I swear, I hate strip clubs and whatever else includes women selling themselves for money."

Chayoung's firm expression softened, but instead of anger, she felt belittled.

"So you're saying I'm selling my body? Are you calling me something in particular Ju-"

"Fuck, Chayoung. You're making me out to sound like a jerk!"

Chayoung had an inner victory at that. He was a jerk.

"I'm not saying any of that. I just... can we go work on our assignment?" Jungkook pleaded.

Once again the girl had to fight not to burst out in laughter. What a serious change of topic.

"Jungkook you're a fucking-"

Chayoung never got to end her sentence as Jungkook pushed her back against the lockers. The hallway was empty by now and the loud sound echoed in the long room.

The girl had no idea what just happened and why she was pinned up against the school lockers by Jungkook.

And then she looked up and saw his dark eyes.

It was not the eyes that had been looking at her at the strip club. There, he'd seemed more... distraught.

These eyes sent shivers down her body. And suddenly, her confidence was gone and she felt small in her place.

"What are you doing..?" She questioned with a faint voice.

Jungkook let go of her and stepped away. But the girl didn't move, she stayed against the lockers. Jungkook threw his head back, ruffling his hair with his eyes closed. He seemed to be in some kind of dilemma.

"I'm sorry, you just wouldn't listen."

The stripper inside her chuckled. She knew she could be a good listener when she wanted to. Or was paid to.

"Let's go to my dorm." The girl spoke, removing herself from her stiff position against the lockers. She still felt Jungkook's hands on her arms and his dark eyes roaming her small ones.

Jungkook stood frozen as the girl moved past him and was probably headed towards her dorm, wanting him to go with her.

When Chayoung looked back, she noticed his frozen state, "To work on our assignment Jungkook." She clarified.

She knew exactly what he thought she'd meant.

❁₩❁

Both sitting on the floor of Chayoung's dorm, her and Jungkook were working on their economic assignment — one more diligent than the other.

It was late noon on a Friday, the first of which in Chayoung's college life.

Not a lot of students had been to school today. Most people left early morning to visit their family, friends and just have a stay-at-home weekend. Those who had been in classes, left soon after.

Haneul left the same morning. She would get back late Sunday evening. Chayoung told her roommate not to stay up and wait for her as she would be back late the same evening. She said she also would be visiting back home, but really the girl had no 'back home'. She had a shift that evening. A late one and a long one, starting from 8 pm and ending at 4 in the morning. Chayoung would be able to get back to the dorm by 5 then and would just get two hours of sleep before the first class would start.

Of course the girl would rather get a good sleep and not go around with bags under her eyes all day, but she was used to getting little sleep.

But Monday was far from now, and currently the only thing going through Chayoung's mind was how her and Jungkook were alone in her dorm.

The school had allowed people to stay, but intensely encouraged the students to travel back home and spend the first weekend with their family. Chayoung was here, obviously because she didn't have no family to visit.

But why was Jungkook not visiting his?

Chayoung was sitting cross-legged and leaning over them, one elbow on the floor to prop her head up and the other arm writing notes on a paper.

That was the diligent one.

The other, the guy, Jungkook, was busy observing the girl.

He wondered too why she was at the school still and not visiting her family.

But mostly, he was thinking of how luscious her lips looked as she unconsciously pouted because she was so focused, and how they glistened whenever her tongue poked out and ran over them.

Finally, after a long time of Jungkook being of no help in the assignment, Chayoung caught his eyes on her. She lifted her head from her arm and sat up with a straightened back.

"Jungkook stop staring at me. You're making it hard to believe that you really didn't enjoy the show the other day." Chayoung scoffed.

She motioned to the computer in front of him, wanting him to start doing something. She thought he would be obedient and do so. She certainly didn't expect his blunt reply.

"I never said I didn't."

Jungkook had straightened up too now, copying her move. His face was relaxed, not a lot of emotion on his face. Not even a smirk. He just cooly stared at her.

Chayoung rolled her eyes at that, looking away from him.

She was still a bit mad. This assignment just needed to get over with. Jungkook said he didn't go there 'on purpose', but how the fuck else did he get there? Did his feet just drag him along without him even noticing?

That explanation couldn't get farer up her ass. Such bullshit.

"Chayoung, with all respect, you're making it hard not to stare." The boy spoke again and his eyes traveled down her body before meeting her eyes again.

The girl had no idea why, but she had to look away feeling her cheeks growing a tiny bit hot. Was she flustered? There was no way that guy made her flustered. Again. Two times in one day. Hell to the no.

Despite the girl's inner conflict on whether she was flustered or just feeling the heat of the room around her, she couldn't help but look down herself. She was plainly wearing a t-shirt and... a skirt. Right.

"So what?" The girl looked up when she remembered the skirt and bare legs she had. She looked at Jungkook with daring eyes and fierce, "Can I not wear a skirt and a cropped tee anymore? Should I wear long pants and a hoodie even when we're inside and it's hot as hell? I have to wear 'proper' clothes just so men won't stare? It's not my fault y'all are horny all the fucking time."

Jungkook had leant back while the girl in front of him was almost yelling at him. She stood up for herself. He thought it was hot.

"I think it is." The guy spoke, looking to fire up her temper even more.

But he got surprised when the girl's lips parted and instead a faint blush painted her cheeks.

Chayoung didn't miss the way Jungkook's teeth tucked on his lower lip, biting the side of it and playing with the silver ring that hugged it tightly.

"Jungkook!" She bursted, not able to take all his boldness.

"I'm joking! I'm joking." He started laughing.

He enjoyed this way too much. Her fiery temper that, faster than he could blink, turned into fiery cheeks.

The girl didn't laugh though. She knew what he intended and she hated that it worked. He got her flustered. That was a sign of weakness. She knew that because, no man ever made her flustered before.

It was always just sex; close your eyes, endure, puke and repeat.

Never once did she enjoy anything. Never once did it tingle her tummy or make her cheeks flush. Maybe she orgasmed sometimes, but how could she not when some of the guys went on for hours?

Jungkook was still staring as the girl had gotten caught up in her thoughts.

"God! Stop staring, focus on your part of the assignment!" She breathed out. It was almost like being under his gaze made her loose her breath.

"Right, sorry." The guy chuckled before he turned his focus back to his computer. But it didn't stay there for long and the silence that had filled the room was only momentary.

"Chayoung..." Jungkook almost whispered.

Mentioned girl looked up, meeting Jungkook's gaze that was now less dark and hungry and seemed more deep and.. caring?

"Hm?" She sounded, waiting for him to continue.

"I really want you to believe me when I said I'm not like that."

Jungkook's voice was lower and less confident than it was minutes ago. Chayoung didn't know why, but she sensed a genuine glint in his eyes.

She knew what he meant.

The girl softened her face and nodded.

She decided to accept his apology and leave the situation alone.

There was no need to make Jungkook feel like a bad guy for going to a strip club. It's normal, girls do it too.

There's nothing wrong with it. The only thing that made her upset was that he was at the one she worked at, but that was not his fault.

And soon their assignment would be done and they wouldn't have to meet up again.

There was no reason in holding a grudge for someone she barely even knew. She should just forget it, and soon she would most probably forget him too.
