With stethoscope in my hand and heavy books in another I walked briskly between wave of students who were busy being lazy after their morning classes. At any cost I need to reach lecture hall 4 to teach final year students today. My body pains due to continous duty since past 24hrs on top of it my foot is tired with my running. Who knew a girl who hardly woke up before 8 am in the morning will be this studious?

"Good morning ma'am. " I heard students wishing me while I set up my books, laptop and few models for demonstration purposes. After an hour of teaching these sleepy heads,I marked attendance. As I am exiting, I found someone leaning against the door frame looking at me.

Argh! Dr Shubash sir !

"I see your foot is fine now. " He commented as I disconnected my laptop. Helping me arrange my books he touched my hand. Bloody idiot!

"See you soon. Do visit me. It's better if you get checked up. " He ended his conversation which he started as soon as he saw me. Turning around I smiled sweetly at him.

"No thank you sir. I got it checked up by my uncle,  your head of the department last week. " I said walking away. His face morphed into terror hearing his name. When I had injury he was out of station attending some seminar but now he's back to the college/hospital. Even Dr Amogh is bit scared of him. One thing my uncle Dr Vishwak Panchal is strict  about is that one should maintain ethics,  take enough rest and never mess with people he thinks are good. Everyone in the college thought I am here because of him, I am for sure but it's my own hard work which made me earn this degree . He is extremely proud of me and am his treasured daughter who no one should mess with. If Orthopedic department is reputed so much its because of his strict guidance and authority.  No pg or even senior doctor talk with him unless he asks them to open their mouth.

"You seem so proud of yourself?." Jaidev questioned as I sat beside him in the canteen. I just smiled not interested in gloating. My uncle visited me on my birthday surprising my father who adores him very much. Mom was persistent that he should check my foot which he did.

"So we both wanted to ask,  is Dr Amogh sir close to you? He seems to be very free with you at home.You both are best friends or something like that?." He questioned to which I got tensed. What should I tell him?

"He's just family friend. " I replied munching on my sandwich.

"You never told me. " He said eyeing me suspiciously.

"Why should I? People already judge me by my uncle's presence here. If I open my mouth and Dr Amogh sir they will think I passed my subjects because of these two." I spoke with frustration.

"Hey we never judged you!." Jaidev defended. I scoffed not really saying anything. They didn't but others never stopped pulling my leg which is irritating after a point .

"So What do call him at home?." He asked.

"He's elder to me of course I have to respect him. By the way, why are you being so nosy?." I questioned him back. To which he just laughed mimicking me.

"Come on! I am bored talking about cases and how bitchy our juniors are. Tell me na pleasee" He laughed nudging again.

"What is there to tell you? He's same everywhere except with his brother. I don't interact much with him nor he's interested to socialize with any human who's not his level. I respect him and call him sir even at home. " I shouted earning few glares my side. Jaidev looked at me with wide eyes, I heard thud sound with vessels clinking.  Turning back I saw him sitting just behind our table placing heavy books on it. 

"So I was saying. " I carried on as if he doesn't matter to me.

"Just shut up. He might be your family friend not mine. You are going to kill us. " jaidev hissed in low voice.

"He doesn't care about anything or anyone. He's always been that way since childhood so I never interacted much with him. I like his younger brother. He's so passionate about everything he talks about. We always chat  over phone, meet up on my off days." I continued. I observed slight frown on his face which is enough for my ego.

"Let's go home. " Jaidev said getting up paying our bills.

"Listen, there's still left you wanted to know right? He's an asshole for all I know but God for patients. A combination which no one sees in this universe. " I ended looking at him who was staring back at me with anger.

Who cares ?

"By the way. Thank you for these beautiful bangles! It suits me so much! I can tell you how many kids loved the sound , it's very calming for them. " I spoke holding my hands infront of Jaidev while walking away. From corner of my eyes I saw Dr Amogh looking at me turning his whole body.

Serves him right.

When my dad said he wanted to talk about us, I was scared for a moment. He asked Dr Amogh if I can stay at his place for next 4 months and learn from him. He being an absolute brainless human said it will be hectic for me as I will have emergency duty, surgeries to assist and perform, postings to intensive care units what not. My parents understood he is not interested and didn't push him further. Dr Amogh offered that he can teach me on my off days,  I can visit him on his off days too. Why will I sacrifice my sleeping time? My dad declined his offer saying I need rest admist all these tough schedules. 

When asked why he denied, his simple answer was he can't control himself around me which will be a problem for my academics.

Now suddenly he's thinking explicit content!

Kasturb approached with a baby in his hands who's crying like hell.

"Here see this ! If you cry you won't be beautiful like her!." He pointed his finger at me. Immediately that baby stopped crying. Jaidev gave her immune shots as I smiled at their team work.

"Ma'am! Sir called you." One of my juniors informed me. As soon a I entered my professor's cabin I found him sitting there. Ignoring him I wished my faculty.

"Anagha , there's a case which you and Jaidev handled last month. That child is undergoing surgery tomorrow for which Dr Amogh has requested me to allow you both to assist him. Be prepared it's such a good opportunity to assist such a brilliant doctor. " He informed as I nodded my head. Of course I knew about surgery. He did not inform me, why will I involve myself?

"Be here by 2am." That's all Dr Amogh spoke as I nodded my head again. Walking out i informed my friend who was excited and thrilled that we will be in a big case. Kasturb got jealous but he's the one who's present in most of delivery cases.

"Ma'am,  Dr Amogh sir called you. " one of the nurses informed me. Jaidev is helping my juniors so I decided to visit him. Alone. Knocking his door,I went inside. He was discussing some case with his pgs as I moved out to give him privacy. After 20min, I was called inside. Gesturing me to sit down, he made one of his pg to join us. Explaining procedure in detail, he asked both of us to study. After brief session, I was tired as hell. Technically,  I have to go home 2hrs ago as I have been on duty since past 24hrs .

"You can leave. " He said not looking at us. I left his cabin first followed by his pg

"Hey!." That pg called out.

"Hi ." I replied smiling at him.

"You look tired take rest. " He commented walking away.  Dr Amogh was standing few feet away looking at both of us. Flipping my hair I decided to show my attitude which he deserves.  Who does he think of himself? If my dad is requesting something, I never go against him but this asshole thinks he's God before everyone.
