Chapter One
"Alright, next position." I stated to the male model in front of me. He nodded slowly and got into position. I sighed and quickly took some pictures. I turned to check my laptop. It rendered the photos and I frowned. These models were getting too boring. Or, my photos were no longer exciting, which I highly doubt.
"Your dismissed." I sighed. The model nodded and walked out of the studio. I groaned in annoyance and unplugged my laptop, putting it in my bag and grabbing my coat. So far, I haven't seen any models that could pass for next months cover. At this rate, I'll have to use some pictures from last months magazine.
I picked up my bag and left the room, locking the door behind me. I walked down the long hallway, listening to the laughter and conversations from the separate rooms. I stopped for a moment when I heard my name.
"I hope we can make the cover."
"Yeah, Levi Ackerman is gonna make us look fantastic!"
"Shut up, I heard he's super rude."
At that point, I walked away from the room and it opened up into the main lobby. I walked past the desk and nodded towards Petra.
"Have a nice evening." She sighed sorting through some paperwork. I didn't respond and made my way towards the large glass doors.
"Wait! Levi! I need you for a moment please!" I heard a deep voice call from further behind me. I lifted my chin and lightly turned my head to see a tall, blonde figure waving towards me.
I sighed and walked towards the man who was known as my manager, Erwin Smith. As I approached him, I noticed three timid looking teens standing behind him.
Erwin smiled and stepped out of the way so that I could see them properly. "Levi, these our are new models. I'd like you to meet them." He stated excitedly.
I walked up to the first teen, she was tall with Raven black hair cut off at her shoulders. Her eyes were dark grey, almost black. We shook hands and she introduced herself.
"Mikasa Ackerman." She said, no emotion behind her voice. My eyes narrowed, noting that our last names were the same. Not too uncommon, but still alarming.
Next, I walked over to a shorter scared looking boy. His hair was cut similar to the girls, but bright blonde. His eyes were a light sky-blue and he shakily stuck his hand out for me to shake it.
"A-Armin Arlert s-sir." He stuttered. I rolled my eyes and turned to the next model.
My heart stopped. His messy brown hair was simple, yet attractive. His eyes where like ocean waters, clear and never ending. His tanned skin sent chills up my spine when I went to shake his hand.
"Eren Jaeger. It's an honor to meet you sir." He smiled. I felt heat rise to my face and quickly urged myself to push it down.
"Follow the rules, don't act dumb and be here an hour early." I quickly said and rushed away from Erwin and the three models.
What was the sensation I felt when I met that boy? It was unexplainable, completely different towards what I felt beside other people I've talked too. There was something oddly different about him, something I couldn't quite understand. He made me feel the excitement I was missing in my photos. I knew right then and there, that kid had to be in my pictures. He was the one who could make the cover, if everything worked out.
I pushed those thoughts quickly out of my head. Before I convinced myself any further, I had to test out these newbies. Because nothing is ever what you anticipated it to be. I had to be sure they were the right fit for Freedom Wings Magazine.
I opened my car and slid into the drivers seat. The leather chairs were nice and clean, no crumbs or dust anywhere in sight. I turned the key and smiled as the car started. I adjusted my mirrors and pulled out of the parking lot.
After about 10 minutes, I reached my apartment and opened the door. Everything, as usual, was clean as I entered and placed my bag on the table. I took out my laptop and sat down, starting to edit more pictures.
I looked up at the clock and noticed it was 6:30 p.m. I reached for my phone and started to type a text towards Erwin.
'Erwin, those three models you introduced me to earlier seem promising enough. If it's alright, I would like them to come to my studio tomorrow morning to test their abilities.'
I sent the message and almost immediately, he responded.
'Glad to hear it Levi! I could tell the people were getting bored of our usual models, it's time we have newer one's come in if we want our magazine to stay in it's number one position. I'll send them in at about 5:30 tomorrow morning?'
I read the message and thought for a moment.
'That's fine. Send them in one by one. 20 minutes for each of them. I'll be in around 4:00.'
I closed my phone and set it on it's charger. I made myself some food and ate while editing my pictures. I sighed and ran my pale fingers through my hair.
The next time I checked my clock, I realized it was 10 p.m. I groaned and cleaned up my plates, charging my laptop and setting my alarm to 3:30.
I changed into a comfortable night shirt and some shorts, collapsing onto my bed and falling asleep quickly.
