Virgil's perspective

"Bye, Patton. See you later!" I called back to my brother as I closed his car door. He called back something like "Bye" , but I didn't really hear because I slipped my headphones on as he responded to me. I didn't play anything, just used my soundproof headphones as a way to block out the world and make me feel calm.

I flipped my hoodie over my head and tried to sink into it as I got closer to the school's front gate. I looked around at the groups of kids huddled together; laughing, talking, hanging out. You know, the usual for a bunch of middle school students. I tried to keep my eyes glued to the floor, hoping to avoid eye contact. I walked over to my only friend in the school, Talyn. They were non-binary and were bullied about it. I am gay and I was bullied about it. So, we helped each other out, because we understood what we were feeling. They were one of the most important people in my life. I love them....platonically, of course. They're nothing more than a very good friend. 

A/N Okay, this isn't the finished chapter, I just wanted to give you guys something. I'll have a part two to this and possibly a part three. It's a really long one, so it might take a while to finish. Anyways, Bye bye!
