(1st Person (Y/N))

Oh man... I honestly don't know what to do, I was asked to the dance by three of the four members of RWBY. If looks could kill, I would've gone to heaven where I could eat all the brownies in the world, wait what? Anyway, I'm in quite the problematic situation, I swear I could even see them reaching for their weapons, now that made me even more nervous, with a gulp, I came up with a decision.

(Y/N): My date for the dance is...

???: Hey (Y/N)! What're you doing!?

We all looked and saw Aidan staring at everyone with an expression of irritation. I quickly seized the opportunity to slip away.

(Y/N): Yo Aidan! What's up! Let's go somewhere else to talk ok?

Aidan: Why would we...

(Y/N): Great! Come on, let's go!!

And just like that, I left the girls without an answer by dashing off with Aidan, no doubt they're angry, but I couldn't exactly answer their question without angering the other two, I didn't want a scythe through my chest, a punch from Yang's gauntlets or multiple clones ganging up on me with katanas... yep, those girls scare me a lot even though they're my friends.

Aidan: What was that about? I'm usually the one dragging you everywhere, not the other way around.

(Y/N): Ok, three girls, all of them want you to go to the dance, what the heck do you do?

Aidan: Wow... I honestly didn't think three girls would ask you to the dance. I only knew Ruby was going to do it...

(Y/N): What?

Aidan: Yep, Ruby asked me two days ago if anyone else was interested in having you as their date for the dance, so I told her I had no knowledge of anyone else.

(Y/N): Well, you got your information wrong!!! I had Yang and Blake! Yang I understand since she's been very friendly with me, but Blake, I thought she'd ask that Sun guy!

Aidan: Yes, I assumed her date would be the monkey king, I never expected her to ask you of all people...

(Y/N): I swear, if that's a comment about being stupid...

Aidan: Of course it is.

(Y/N): Jerk!

(3rd Person)

The ballroom was filled with filled with all sorts of decoration from team RWBY, however (Y/N) was simply hiding behind as many objects as he could find hoping not to meet a pair of silver, lilac or amber eyes. He tiptoed over to a chair, pushed the student off it and then sat on it in the dark corner of the room.

(Y/N): Need to find possibly hostiles, could be anywhere, better check my six...

(Y/N) turned around only to face a wall, he sighed in relief before turning back around, only to see a pair of amber eyes staring right into his soul. He blinked at seeing them before his eyes travelled upward to see the familiar bow on top of her head.

(Y/N): If I don't move, you can't see me...

Blake: Faunus can see in the dark idiot.

(Y/N): I, knew that? Oh look! A can of tuna!

Blake grabbed the boy's collar, she was disappointed that he wasn't even wearing a fancy suit to attend the dance, he only chuckled nervously as Blake started to drag him behind her, he predicted where Blake was dragging him and saw a familiar head of blonde hair right in front of where Blake was leading them to.

(Y/N): Oh dear Oum have mercy on my poor brownie loving soul...

Seems no God was listening to him since now he could see the pair of lilac eyes stare into his soul now.

(Y/N): Yo?

Yang: Don't you yo us, you left us on that cliff with no real answer, now choose: who is your date?

(Y/N): Uh...

Ruby: I'd like to know that too...

(Y/N) jumped at hearing the cookie monster's voice right behind him. This could only mean one thing: he was trapped, he had nowhere to go, trapped by Red Riding Hood, Goldilocks and Beauty herself. He was sweating profusely since everyone gave him the stink eye for still having his casual clothes on instead of a suit.

(Y/N): Can I uh, say my answer after I put on my suit? After all, you don't want to be with a date who doesn't have a suit, right? He he he...

Yang: I don't mind, I'd rather rip off those clothes than your expensive suit later~

(Y/N): Why's that? Ooh! Are we going swimming later!? I got this awesome new pair of shorts that let me swim faster in water!

Yang: No, but it's a fun activity just like swimming~

(Y/N): Oh, then is it...

???: Apologies, but may I speak with Mr (L/N) for a moment?

Ozpin had just requested for (Y/N)'s attention, either this was one big stroke of luck for the (H/C) haired boy, or Ozpin deliberately got his student out of another sticky situation. Either way, (Y/N) wasn't complaining as he instantly ran to Ozpin's side with a nervous smile.

(Y/N): Of course Ozzy my bestie! We can talk all ya want!

Ozpin: Good, because this might just take a while...

With that, the two walked away from an irritated trio. (Y/N) could instantly feel the glares burning into the back of his and Ozpin's heads, it made the two grow sweat drops before they got out of sight just as the doors opened to reveal a duo of familiar troublemakers.

Yang: You're just in time!

Mercury: Wouldn't miss it for the world...

(With Ozpin and (Y/N))

Ozpin: I've gathered information, and it seems our suspicions were correct: Melissa is working for Salem, Qrow had already informed us of that, but he couldn't tell whether she planned to use the true reincarnation spell on her or not.

(Y/N): So, that means...

???: It's an uneasy alliance between the two...

(Y/N) hit his head on the ceiling at how sneaky Aidan had been, he was literally right behind him. (Y/N) turned with wide eyes of rage and gritted teeth while pointing at his teacher.

(Y/N): Stop it!!! I already get enough of that from Ruby! I don't need someone else being sneaky enough to attack me from behind!

Aidan: You let your guard down.

(Y/N): Don't change the subject!!

Ozpin: Gentlemen, can we continue our discussion now?

Aidan: Whatever...

(Y/N): Hmph!

Ozpin: Yes, the alliance between Melissa and Salem is a shaky one. We can only guess she offered to revive Melissa and kill Aidan for the final first parasite's power, in exchange she's probably asked Melissa to join her on the conquest of humanity.

(Y/N): Melissa may be a witch, but I've known her for years, she would never have any reason to join in a conquest against humanity, she's only focused on getting her revenge.

Aidan: Revenge?

(Y/N): Yeah, that's what she calls it, saying how there's this one guy who betrayed her, but she never told me who.

Aidan: I've known Melissa longer than you (Y/N), and I can assure you there's no one in this world she'd want revenge on.

The three descended into their thoughts, silence was all that could be heard as all three thought about different things.

(With Cinder)

After successfully knocking the guards out, Cinder was in, she was smirking to herself while going through the scroll she stole easily.

Cinder: Ooh! That's handy!

Cinder kept smirking while walking towards the control consoles inside the CCT tower in Beacon, though once she stepped inside, Cinder suddenly felt a pang of guilt as an image of (Y/N)'s face flashed before her eyes, but she quickly shook the image away as she sits down at a nearby console before plugging her scroll in.

Emerald: A party guest is leaving...

Cinder sighs before pressing the ear bud to listen in on the conversation.

Cinder: Which one?

Emerald: Ironwood...

Mercury: I guess the general's had enough fun for one night.

A code appears on the screen in front of Cinder as her scroll finished whatever she's done causing the screen to turn into the symbol of a black queen chess piece.

Mercury: Should we intervene?

Cinder: No, we're done here.

Cinder sighed again while placing a hand on her forehead, she imagined (Y/N)'s face when he'd find out Cinder was actually an enemy the entire time, it cause her to grow a frown. The weird part for her was this frown was a genuine one, she felt as if she was betraying (Y/N) by doing this. Her thoughts were interrupted by the elevator doors behind her opening.

(With (Y/N))

(Y/N) had decided to just rest by the punch table now, he sighed while leaning back hoping none of the girls would bother him about a dance. Luckily they were all busy with their own thing: Yang was busy dancing with Blake while Ruby was nowhere to be seen, (Y/N) couldn't help but feel a bit concerned for her.

He stood up from his seat and walked over to two people he hadn't talked to in a while.

(Y/N): Yo! Neptune! Weiss!

They both jumped at the sound of his voice, Weiss sighed in relief before growing a small unnoticeable smile at seeing it was only (Y/N) whereas Neptune waved awkwardly since the two barely know each other.

Neptune: Hey, (Y/N), right?

(Y/N): That's me! Brownie lover and proud owner of Pain and Gain!

Weiss: What about Sting?

(Y/N): I don't technically own Sting, that's my Mom's weapon. Anyway, you two enjoying the dance so far?

Neptune: It was lame at first, but hey, maybe formal events can be fun once you get into it.

Weiss: Wait, where's your suit?

(Y/N): Oh, that? He he, I don't exactly, have one...

Weiss and Neptune grew deadpan expressions at that, they both sighed but before they could berate him, two pairs of arms wrapped around (Y/N)'s arms

Yang: You owe me a dance mister~

Blake: And you owe me one as well!

(Y/N): He he, anyone nearby want to save me?

Complete silence, no one's coming to help this time.

Yang: Now then...

Blake: It's time to choose...

(Y/N): To hell with it!

Blake + Yang: Huh?

Suddenly, (Y/N) grabbed both of their hands before leading them to the dance floor. Once they arrived, they were surprised to see (Y/N)'s smile completely changed from his usual happy smile into a warm and genuine smile that the girl's couldn't help but become mesmerised by.

(Y/N): This way, everyone's happy! Ok?

They didn't respond at first, they were shocked at seeing (Y/N) being mature for once and deciding to dance with them instead of running away. They both grew small smiles before accepting the offer, (Y/N) held Yang's waist with one arm, and then spun Blake with the other, he changed every so often to make sure both girls had the same amount of dancing with him.

(With Cinder)

Cinder managed to escape from both Ruby Rose and General Ironwood, she easily gave the guards the slip by quickly changing into her dance's outfit. Her original plan was to dance with Mercury, but that instantly changed once she saw the smiling face of a certain (H/C) haired boy, she couldn't help but grow a warm smile of her own before walking over to them, (Y/N) was the only one who noticed her.

(Y/N): Yo! Cinder! Enjoying the dance so far?

Cinder: It's been... an experience so far.

Yang and Blake instantly glared at the woman behind them only to calm down once (Y/N) squeezed their hands reassuringly, he stepped up to her with his brightening smile but showed he was curious why she walked up to them just now. With a smile, Cinder turned her attention to Yang and Blake.

Cinder: Do you mind if I borrow him for a few minutes?

Yang + Blake: What!? Of course...

(Y/N): Sure! I wouldn't mind dancing with another friend!

Cinder couldn't help but grow another smile at the boy in front of her, his blinding smile wasn't helping her calm down, or in her case remain cold-hearted either as his warm presence was affecting her again, she led the boy away much to her two allies' surprise when they saw leading (Y/N) to the dance floor.

Mercury: Damn it, it's that kid again...

Emerald: Yeah, he must have some sort of semblance that brainwashes people or something, Cinder's not even acting the least bit like herself towards the guy...

Cinder heard but ignored those comments as she guided (Y/N)'s arm around her waist and held the other gently. Normally she would do this for the sake of not blowing her cover, but she couldn't help but start to enjoy herself as both she and (Y/N) swayed to the slow classical music.

(Y/N): So, you are having fun then?

Cinder: Of course, it's an event I wouldn't dare miss...

Though there was one thought that was bothering the girl for a long time after meeting (Y/N), and it's time she asked for his opinion.

Cinder: (Y/N)?

(Y/N): Yo?

Cinder: What if I told you, I wasn't who you thought I am?

(Y/N): Wait, are you a guy!?

She giggled in amusement at his stupid question, she almost went wide-eyed at what her giggle. She'd never giggle, not even to her closest friends, the only reason she didn't go wide-eyed was to keep her identity in check. She shook her head before staring down at her dancing partner.

Cinder: No, what I'm asking is: if I wasn't who you thought I was, would you still...

(Y/N): Heard that question one too many times, yes of course you'd still be my friend!

Cinder: What!? Even if I held back a secret that would hurt you if you found out about it later rather than sooner!?

(Y/N): Of course! No matter who you are, you're my friend! End of! Nothing to it! Cinder, what you need to understand is that once you're in my list of friends, you never leave it if it's for a stupid reason like that!

Again Cinder was taken by surprise by the boy in front of her, she couldn't believe there existed someone who would forgive his friends so deeply. She smiled genuinely and widely while closing her eyes before dancing the night away with (Y/N) and for once completely forgetting about the reason why she was here in the first place.

Cinder: Thank you, (Y/N) (L/N), for making me feel like I have a true friend these past few weeks... and I'm sorry for what will happen soon.
