TW: A little about being sick, mentions of throwing up, mentions of a fight

"I HATE THE RAIN!" Roman pushed his wet bangs out of his eye's as the group of 6 boys walked along the side of the road on a rainy Friday evening. "Come on Roman it's not THAT bad. Plus there's a bunch of mud and stuff!" Remus said shoving Roman. Everyone had to admit the two boys looked a lot a like and were even the same height. Patton giggled at the two as they started a shoving match. "Stop it guys. Someone's going to get hurt." he called up to them. They continued walking down the road in the pouring rain before Virgil finally spoke up. "As much as I LOVE aimlessly walking in the rain are we going to stop anywhere to sleep already." 

"I don't agree with Virgil. We need to find a place to sleep already." Dee responded.

"That is what we are doing. We should find a suitable area with coverage so we are not out in the rain all night." Logan said. Everyone knew he was right but there was no way they were finding a covered area to sleep in that the police wouldn't also find. Eventually they gave up on finding a dry area and settled down for the night. As they did Patton started to cough and everyone gave him concerned looks.

"Patton you OK. You can't get sick this is the last week before winter break too." Logan said sitting next to him.

"Yah I'm fine I just had something in my through" Patton said smiling. Everyone shot him another concerned glance before settling in and hoping Patton wasn't lying.

The next day when they all woke up it was still raining. What fun. Dee woke up first and shivered even though he was still under the pile of people and pulled his hood tighter around his head. Eventually everyone woke up except for Patton. "It's freezing!" Virgil said zipping his hoodie even higher.

"Technically it is not freezing because if it was it would be snowing not raining right now." Logan said wiping his glasses and placing them back on his face. They all stoped as Patton shifted and groaned. 

"Hey Patton how you feeling" Virgil asked shifting in the people pile so he could see Patton better. 

"Morning kiddo. I'm just feeling a little down." Patton said before coughing into his elbow. Oh no. Logan shifted and freed his hand from under Patton(Patton's leaning on Logan's shoulder) and placed it on his forehead and frowned. 

"Shit"

"Language"

"You have a fever Patton."

Patton sat and stared at Logan for a second. "Shit."

Patton had fallen back to sleep on Logans shoulder. The rain had yet to let up so everyone was cold, wet, and hungry. "We should try to find some food. But I don't want to leave Patton alone" Roman said. 

"Yes we should. You, Virgil, and Deceit should go try to find some food. Remus and I will stay with Patton to make sure he stays safe." Logan said looking up at the rest of the boys.

"Why us?" Virgil said, lets just say digging through trash cans for food wasn't his favorite thing to do.

"Well Remus and Roman are our best fighters" Logan said gesturing towards Roman who put a hand over the bruise on his face from a fight yesterday "So it would make sense to have one of them in each group. And I'm staying with Patton because he is currently trapping me here." Logan said. Roman and Virgil grunted in agreement and De sighed and crossed his arms "We'll try to be back by sun set. Remus try to stay out of trouble." Remus just shrugged "No promises."

At sun set the boys were all sitting around Patton. It had stoped raining for a few hours but had started up again. Dee, Virgil, and Roman had found some fruit and a couple of bagels from the super market near by that had just passed their sell by date. They had all eaten their share and were trying to get Patton to eat. He had thrown up earlier in the day, so he was REALLY sick. Patton had just finished about half an orange when they say a Normal wearing a tan cardigan and pink tie watching them. He held a Steven Universe umbrella over his head and walked over. Roman and Remus immediately jumped up prepared for a fight.

"What do you want." Roman said getting into a fighting stance

"Hey calm down. I'm not going to hurt you. My names Emilie." Emilie held up his free hand to show he meant no harm. "Are you kids OK? Where are your parents."

"Don't know probably dead." Remus said. Their parents were most likely Street Rats too and they didn't have enough to support themselves let alone a child. 

"Oh I'm sorry. Where do you kids live? Why are you out in the rain?" Emilie said with a sad face.

"We don't live anywhere. You shouldn't know that Normal." Dee spat at him. Just then Patton leaned over and tossed his cookies. Logan patted his back not taking his eye's off Emilie.

"If you don't have a place to live then do you want to come with me?" Emilie said after taking a second. The boys all gave him a suspicious look and he could tell they didn't trust him. "Look it's cold. Your friend is sick and the rain won't help. I promise I won't hurt you, I just want to help."

"Yah because every Normal wants 6 Street Rat's in their house." Virgil said. He had been very quiet since Emilie had shown up.

"Hey don't call yourselves that. What even is a Normal and why do you keep calling me that?" Emilie said. They boys all gave him a puzzled look "It doesn't matter I promise I just want to help." Emile walked over and held his umbrella over a now sleeping Patton seeming to not mind how he was now getting soaked.

"I think we should go with him" Everyone turned to Logan who hadn't said a word this hole time wich was highly unusual for him "It does not seem like he intends to harm us."

"I agree with Logan on this one" that was Virgil "Patton's sick and any chance to get him warm and dry will help." Everyone stared at Virgil. He was the most cautious of the group so if he trusted Emilie then they knew it was the right choice. Without saying a word Roman walked over and picked up Patton putting him on his back. Everyone else waited for Emilie to lead the way.

"Ok... Come on it's about a 10 minute walk away. Oh! I should call Remy, my husband, to let him know we're going to have some guest." Emile said leading the way still holding the umbrella over Roman and Patton. He pulled out his phone and clicked on Remy's contact.

"Hey Babe. I was just about to call you. Do you want soup or chicken for dinner tonight?"

"Hey coffee bean. Um I think soup would be the better option. So... I might have picked up 6 kids off the street and their going to stay with us so I would make enough for 8. Can you also set up the guest room if you have a chance. We're all wet so some towels would be good too. Ok thanks love you baby BYE." Emilie hung up the phone before Remy could say anything and looked down to see all the boy's staring at him.

"Smooth." Dee said with a smile.

About half way through the walk Roman was getting tired from carrying Patton. Sure he was the strongest but Patton was bigger then him and he was tired. Emilie seemed to notice Roman's slowing pace. "Hey Roman do you want me to carry Patton for you. We only have a few minutes left till we reach the house." Roman tightened his grip on Patton but realized he wouldn't be able to carry Patton for much longer and sighed. "Fine but you better not hurt him." He transitioned Patton into Emilie's arms. Emilie handed Logan the umbrella as he moved Patton to his back. They continued to walk in silence when Emilie stopped at a house with warm light coming from the windows. The sun had set and most streets in Normal neighborhoods didn't have street lights so it was pitch black outside.

"Here we are. Home sweet home." Emile said handing Patton to Logan this time so he could unlock the door. "REMY WERE BACK!" Emile called into the house. The boys slowly followed Emilie into the house glad to get out of the cold rain. They all stoped when they saw a man wearing a white t-shirt with a black leather jacket and sunglasses(Who wears sunglasses inside) with his hands on his hips staring down Emilie.

"Care to explain that phone call Emilie"

"Well... Remy... I mean... I didn't plan on taking some kids home with me today it kinda just happened." Emile said trying to calm him down.

"I mean I'm fine with the kids staying but I would have like to been asked first. UHG! You're all soaking wet! Dry off all of you before you get sick!" Remy shouted before storming into the kitchen.

"Well... That went better then I expected" Emilie said "Come on I'll show you where you can change. Do you have any extra clothes you can change into?"

"Yes I keep them right here in my magic invisible back pack." Dee quipped back

"Oh right. I'll try to find some clothes for you. You all are pretty small I don't think any of it will fit you but it'll be fine." Emilie lead the boys to the two guest rooms that were next to each other on the first floor of the house. The house was 2 floors, one master bedroom(Second floor), 3 guest rooms(one on the 2nd floor, 2 on the 1st), 4 bathrooms(1 in each room), 2 half bath's(One of the 2nd and one on the 1st), a kitchen, and a family room. Emilie placed Patton on the bed and went to grab everyone some clothes.

Everyone got changed and walked into the kitchen to see a table set up with 8 bowls of soup and Emilie already sitting at the head. Remy noticed the haggle of children and motioned for them to sit down.

"Come on babes sit down. The soups should help you warm up." Remy said sitting next to his husband giving him a kiss on the cheek. The boy's hesitantly sat down staring at the soup.

"Eat it's ok. Remy's a good cook." Emile said picking up his spoon.

The boys picked up their spoons and quickly devoured the soup. This was amazing. They hadn't had a warm meal in... Ever. Even Patton managed to eat most of his soup.

"Wow you guys must have been hungry." Emilie said. "I'm made a doctors appointment for you kids. Is that OK?"

"Umm I guess. Doctors are pretty cool. They get to deal with blood and needles and stuff." Remus said.

"Well yes. We more wanted to see how we can get Patton better and make sure you all were fine." Emilie said. "We're going to go tomorrow at noon so you don't need to worry about waking up. We don't have a car big enough to take all of you so we're going to have to take the bus. I'll also be taking you because Remy has to work."

"That sounds satisfactory" Logan said. They all nodded in agreement before Patton yawned setting of a chain reaction.

"You should probably get some sleep babes. I was only able to set up the guest rooms down here. But if you guys can wait I'll set up the last one. Sorry you'll have to share." Remy said standing up.

"That's not fine." Dee said with a yawn. Remy and Emilie gave him a confused look.

"He likes lies. He means it's all good." Roman said clearing the confusion. Remy nodded and went off to set up the last room and the boys all went to the first guest room and sat on the bed. They had all fallen asleep in the warm bed when Remy came down.

"Coffee bean. I'm sorry I didn't ask you before taking the kids home. They just really needed a place to stay and I just needed to help them-"

"Emile it's fine. Let's just figure out how to help them. Those kids are really cute and you know how I've always wanted little ankle bitters running around our house." Remy said cutting off Emilie as he put his hands on his shoulders. "Now come on lets get some sleep and talk about this in the morning. Those kids aren't the only ones who need some rest." Remy kissed Emilie on the head and the two walked up to bed and quickly fell asleep.

REMY AND EMILIE HAVE ENTERED THE STORY!!! I hope you liked the chapter. I know it was a lot of talking but I still hope it was good. Feel free to give any constructive criticism.
