Cake (Hyunjin x Reader)
A/N old... excuse all mistakes TT
Y/N POV
Today was the day. Twentieth of March. My boyfriend, Hyunjin, was coming over any moment now.
I whisked the ingredients quickly, arm aching, flour a splattered mess covering the kitchen like snow.
DING DONG.
The doorbell rang loudly through our apartment, making me jump. Letting go of the whisk I ran to the front door, adjusting my apron and fixing my hair ever so slightly as I opened the front door.
Hyunjin smiled brightly as he looked at me.
"Love, you've got flour in your hair." He chuckled, before swiping the tip of my nose slightly. "And cake mix on your nose."
"I do..? Oh gosh this is embarrassing..." I whined, patting my hair quickly, looking at my flour covered hands.
"Do you need help in the kitchen..?" He asked, stepping inside and closing the door.
"I was just about to put it in the oven. Just go sit in the living room." I said, kissing his cheek quickly.
As he strode off realisation hit.
"HYUNJIN- DON'T GO IN THERE-"
But it was too late.
I ran towards the living room, only to see him marvelling the streamers and balloons littered around the room, the presents stacked high on the table.
"You did all this...?" Hyunjin asked, mouth agape.
"Yeah.. more or less..." I said awkwardly, looking down.
"It's amazing..." He said, a grin forming across his face, before he wrapped his arms around my body, pulling me into a hug.
"Thank you Y/N. Thank you for remembering. This is more than I could've asked for." Hyunjin said, a tear rolling down his cheek.
I hugged the boy back, smiling gently.
"Of course I'd remember. Happy Birthday Hyunjin. Let's finish your cake now."
Walking off to the kitchen, Hyunjin just sighed at the mess.
"This is why we just invite Felix over to cook for us.. you've made a mess Y/N." He said, shaking his head.
"It's just a bit of flour, we can clean it up later." I said, walking back over to the bowl, pouring the mix into the pan, placing it in the oven.
Hyunjin sat on the kitchen counter, watching as I cleaned up the snow-like mess.
"You could help you know." I grumbled sarcastically.
"Ew no, then I'll get dirty." Hyunjin whined.
I narrowed my eyes, scooping a handful of flour from the counter, throwing it at Hyunjin.
The flour puffed like a cloud of smoke, clearing to reveal a flour covered Hyunjin.
"Oh it's on." Hyunjin smirked.
He scooped a handful of flour into his own hands, sprinkling it into my hair.
"That's unfair! I already had enough flour in my hair.." I grumbled.
"Hey be nice, it's my birthday." Hyunjin said, patting my head.
The timer dinged, alerting me the cake was ready.
I moved my eyes away from Hyunjin, pulling the cake out and onto the counter.
"Can you get the icing sugar from the cupboard?" I asked.
"Sure thing love." Hyunjin smiled, reaching up into the cupboard and pulling out the icing sugar, passing it over to me quickly.
I made the icing, spreading it over the cake and writing out a message in red, drawing a small heart.
Hyunjin peered over my shoulder, wrapping his arms around my waist.
"Y/N that's so cuteeee!" He cooed, taking the icing tube from my hand, placing it down on the counter as he turned me towards him.
"Everything alright..?"
"Yeah.. I just wanted to look at you.. you're too good for me." Hyunjin said, kissing me.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY HYUNJIN- gosh, get a room you two." Someone yelled as they entered.
Hyunjin pulled away, looking around at his friends who entered the room.
"You guys are the ones who barged in." Hyunjin rolled his eyes.
"Well, Happy Birthday hyung!" Jeongin said. "Now let's go open your presents, come on." I said, dragging Hyunjin to the living room.
He opened all his gifts happily, that smile I adored never leaving his face.
"Happy Birthday Hyunjin.." I said smiling as I wrapped my arms around him from behind.
"Thank you love.. this was all I needed..." Hyunjin smiled.
