10 years later

Hyunjin

I'm finally here again.

We have completed the mandatory military service. Now we are preparing for the big comeback.

We decided not to break up the band, but to take a break so that everyone can fulfill their duty to the homeland. We also assured our fans that we will be back, don't give up, wait for us.

So now we are here to step in front of the STAYs again with a great new album, renewed.

We will start recording the audio today and practice the choreography in the afternoon.

I'm just thinking about walking towards the dance hall, when I hear my name, and a European, around 20 years old, pretty blonde girl looks up at me.

- Hyunjin! Oppa! - she shouts, then starts running towards me, then jumps on my neck. It can not be...

I push her away from me a little to look at her better, she looks into my eyes with a smile. That smile... It's really her...

- Lynette!

"I thought you didn't even know me," she answers with a perfect Korean accent, pouting.

I froze for a moment. She has grown up a lot, she has become a mature woman. She's a really pretty woman! And she speaks our language perfectly!

- Did the cat take your tongue, oppa? - she winks mischievously at me.

- I was just surprised. - I went out myself. - anyway, how long have you been able to speak Korean?

- I started studying after I left home 10 years ago. Besides English, it became the second language I learned.

- You never mentioned that when we talked.

- Because I wanted to surprise you - she grins charmingly.

- It succeeded - I'm laughing now too.
- and how do you get here? Not just anyone can come in here.

- I'm not just anyone, there is a returning team, to whom I was added as the ninth member. They're quite a silly company, but their hearts are huge. I will debut with them.

I digested what I heard. Let's wait...
But a familiar deep voice comes in again:

- I see you met the new maknae, Jinnie! - Felix comes to us. - can we go practice?

Lini nods enthusiastically and takes her hand into the room with the others.

Everyone together again... Now really everyone who is important is here.

I go into the rehearsal that stretches into the evening with an ear-to-ear smile, there's no problem, I'm full of energy.

Lynette

I have been a trainee at the company for a year. I learned to rap, sing, and in the last 10 years I have mastered Korean perfectly. I have fulfilled all the requirements of JYP, so I can debut.

The guys have just returned from the service of military and are preparing for their comeback. Only Hyunjin is missing, but he will also be arriving soon.

Today, JYP invited me in. He said my time had come. He then added that I would be the ninth member of a band of eight, the only girl. When he saw that I was scared, he reassured me that I don't need to worry, I know the team well, I have a pretty close relationship with them. That's when it fell.

Then I also managed to surprise the boss, because in my joy, true to my good habit, I jumped on his neck.

- It's good, it's good... But go find them now, the rehearsals start today!

And I happily ran towards the practice rooms.

When I was looking for our room there, I saw someone coming towards me.

- Hyunjin! - he looks up, - Hyunjin! Oppa!

I run towards him and jump on his neck. He's finally here! I so missed him!

He pushes me away, examines my face...

- Lynette! - he finally recognizes. He's not in a hurry... I'll tell him that.

He freezes again.

When we clarify that a lot has happened in the past 10 years, he tells me sternly:

- But how did you get in? No one can come in here!

- I'm not just anyone - I say, and then I outline to him what the boss said today, but I don't tell him that the particular team is Stray Kids.

I see that he is about to fall for it when Lix arrives and usually overtakes him:

-I see you met the new maknae Jinnie! Can we go practice?

I nod happily and we go inside to join the others.
