"Okay, you got your homework folder and pencils in there?" Seonghwa asks, adjusting the straps on Jongho's book bag as the boy nods. Seonghwa smiles, he was knelt down and cups his son's face, "Are you excited? It's your first day of preschool!"

"I'm nervous," he mumbles, pouting slightly, "can't I just stay home with you and daddy?"

"Aw baby," Seonghwa pouts, "I wish you could. But we want you to go to preschool and get a head start on schooling. That and mommy and daddy have to work. Me and daddy want you to grow up big and strong and very very smart! You're already so smart, with a little push from preschool you will be the smartest!" He smiles, one hand cups his small five month belly and he other was rubbing Jongho's back, "And, it's not every day you'll be there. Only today, Wednesday, and Friday! The other two days you'll stay with Nana!"

"B-But I don't want to stay with N-Nana," Jongho starts hiccuping, little tears coming to his eyes and he starts to cry, "I-I w-w-want you-ou and d-daddy!!"

Seonghwa's heart breaks and he wraps his arms around Jongho's body and brings him in for a hug. Jongho clings to his mother and sobs in his shoulder, the scrubs getting wet there from his son's tears. Seonghwa tried not to tear up as he pulls Jongho away and wipes his tears away with a smile, "Come on, dry up your tears and smile. You know you will see me and daddy when you get home tonight. Nana will pick you up from school, and daddy will pick you up from there. Then mommy will be home and he will make dinner and we can cuddle and you can tell me about your awesome day!!"

Jongho hiccups, wiping his fresh tears away and Seonghwa has to try really hard to not call the school and say forget it, he will make Jongho wait but he knows this will be good for his son. He needed to be around other children his age, and he needed to learn how to interact with other people besides himself and the other people in his life. Sure he had Miyoung to play with on some days, but Miyoung was only two and he needed to experience being around other children.

As much as he really... really wanted to keep his baby home and away from the cruel world of school, he knew this would be good for Jongho.

The bus comes around the corner and Seonghwa stands with some difficulty thanks to the baby bump he is supporting, and holds Jongho's hand. He hides shyly behind Seonghwa's legs as the large blue bus with "Dragon Creek Preschool" written on the side rolls up to the driveway, and stops with a loud hiss. The doors open with a squeak, and the driver smiles, "Good morning!"

"Good morning," Seonghwa responds, smiling back politely before leading Jongho over to it. He grips tightly onto Seonghwa's hand, not wanting to let go of his mommy. The bus driver stands and helps buckle Jongho in his car seat, Seonghwa watching to make sure she's buckling his baby in correctly, and he gets off the bus once he knows Jongho is good to go. There were a couple other children on the bus who were either asleep or were watching them with wide eyes while in their own booster seats.

Jongho looks at his mommy from the window, pouting as he puts his hand on the glass and waves. Seonghwa smiles, waving to him as they drive off. Once he's out of sight, he feels his wall break down and he sobs. To muffle them as he turns to walk to his car, he puts his hand over his mouth. But even then that didn't stop the tears and the sobs from wracking his body.

His little baby boy wasn't a baby anymore.

That night Seonghwa drives quickly to get home so he can see his son, and as soon as he walks in the door he hears him yell at the top of his lungs, "Mommy!!"

He smiles widely and takes the boy in his arms, "Oh my sweet baby boy!!" He kisses Jongho all over his face and the boy giggles as he cuddles his mommy. Seonghwa places him on his hip, the boy's weight made him huff as he adjusts him to avoid putting pressure on the baby bump, "How was your first day of school baby?! I missed you so so much!"

"I miss you too," Jongho replies, laying his head on Seonghwa's shoulder, "I made a new friend, and I ate animal crackers, and and-"

Seonghwa chuckles, taking his son into the kitchen to see his husband starting dinner, "You did! What's the friend's name?"

"His name is Felix," Jongho replies, "He played dinos with me and gave me his apple slices!"

"Awww," Seonghwa smiles, "See! I told you school wasn't bad!"

"No!" Jongho smiles, "I wanna go back tomorrow!"

"Well buddy tomorrow you don't have school," Hongjoong laughs, he's already heard all about his day from the three year old but seeing him this excited made him happy. Seonghwa called him crying that morning when he got on the bus and Hongjoong had to convince the older not to go grab him off the bus. He also told him Jongho was upset he had to go and didn't want to. But now, the kid is willing to go on a day he doesn't have it.

"So do you love school?" Seonghwa smiles, brushing his baby's hair back.

"Yeah!! I love it!!"

"Good!" Seonghwa smiles softly at his son, kissing Jongho's chubby cheek, "I'm so happy you do baby. I hope you keep this same attitude about school when you get older."
