There... really aren't that many My Hero Academia time travel books relatively speaking. At least not fleshed out ones that really get down and gritty with it? At least not that I've seen. The ones I do see always have just Izuku going back, or Izuku and a buddy, or Bakugo by himself.

But like... what if Izuku and Endeavor went back? Super random and super fucking weird, but do you know how funny that could be??? Like-- hold on hold on

Summary:
In the middle of Izuku's internship with the acting Number One Hero-- Endeavor-- the world ends.

With Japan in crisis, closed off from the rest of the world and being overtaken by Shigaraki and the army of Nomu he's amassed to wipe out as much of the population as he can, it feels like everything is crumbling around him. He was supposed to defeat All For One and win. He was supposed to stop this from happening, was supposed to keep hope alive. He was supposed to keep his friends alive.

And maybe... maybe he still can.

With a shaky smile, a downtrodden Endeavor full of regrets and missing his kids, and a chance, Izuku finds himself back five months before he ever took the UA entrance exam with a fumbling Endeavor as his only knowing ally. All he can do grin, bear it, and hope that'll be enough.

Notes:

-You're skeptical I get it, but I also warned you about the Endeavor Redemption fics. There are an abundance of them in my brain and idk why they're just there.

-Okay so, world (basically) ends. Everyone's dead-- I'm talking Todoroki and Bakugo too, who were also on the internship with Endeavor. It's all ass, everything is on fire, Shigaraki has All For One and is murdering the masses, there are nomu crawling all over the mf place.

-Endeavor has lost all of his kids. All of them. And he's devastated over it. Complete realization that hey, maybe being number one doesn't fucking matter if you can't protect what matters to you. And maybe there are things more important than being strong, like getting to know your literal children

-Go figure smh

-Anyway, he and Izuku are the only ones left-- ft a group of others? Tsukauchi, a few other classmates, some teachers, some heroes-- just a handful really. At this point they all obviously know about All For One and Izuku tells them about One For All as well and what its purpose is

-Only two people can go back. One obviously has to be Izuku, because he wields OFA. They choose someone who will be able to help him most. Someone with the most standing, most resources, and most sway so that they can stop this from happening. That someone is obviously Endeavor, who will go back to being Number Two

-Only Endeavor is lowkey in shock and horrified by everything, and grieving, so it's like awkward. But Izuku is like "Pop your ass in gear? I want to save Shoto too??" And Endeavor is like "K 😭"

-They get transported into their old bodies, five months before the UA entrance exam. Izuku is ready to take this bull by the horns. All Might is low-key concerned when he shows up to the beach and isn't stuttering anymore and is attacking the trash ferally, but he just sorta shrugs and chalks it up to enthusiasm and cheers him on.

-Endeavor literally has no idea what to do. Like he just stares at his children. Silently. Shoto's waiting for him to bring up training and he's just twitching, sort of wanting to hug them all but knowing he'd probably get taken to a hospital because they'd assume something was wrong.

-The world is gonna end and he doesn't know wtf to do dawg. He sorta gave up. Izuku knows more than him so Endeavor's just gonna listen to him and take cues from that.

-His kids are so concerned they think he hit his head or is a shapeshifter

-Endeavor texts Izuku constantly about every little thing. Bro does not know when to stop. He's afraid of fucking up the timeline, and he also wants to get closer to his kids. Not like he has anyone else to ask for advice. Plus, Izuku and Shoto were best friends before! If anyone would know, it'd be him

-Izuku has the patience of a saint and just treats him like they're friends. Or... like he's the therapist and Endeavor is the patient. However you wanna see it. He's just here to get good with One For All and rock everyone's shit

-As UA approaches, Izuku and Endeavor have to talk more shop so Endeavor, naturally, invites him over to his house. Izuku's been there before during his internship. It's just that-- that was in the future and this is obviously now

-His kids fr don't know what to think when he walks in with a vibrating, joyful ball of energy bouncing in behind him. Especially when the kid holds a normal, if not jabbering, conversation with their dad who just sorta tensely nods along and looks politely lost

-Shoto is enamored bc Izuku is super nice to him and knows a lot about him without him having to say. Obviously. Like, Izuku brings him his favorite smoothie one day. Only Shoto has never had a smoothie at that point, and it's like the best thing ever, and he has no idea why Izuku and his dad are hanging out like what the hell

-Ft. Izuku telling Endeavor to do something and him actually doing it and yeah, now his kids definitely think he's a shapeshifter. Taking orders from a 15 year old

-All Might and Endeavor staring at one another and Izuku awkwardly hovering there

-All Might feels a little cheated on but if this is a fight, he's gonna win it. This is HIS student, thank you

-(Plot twist, Endeavor is more Izuku's student than Izuku is his at this point.)

-He's coaching him on emotions and being nice. He's like "please apologize" and Endeavor is like "how" and Izuku tells him how. It's great! Endeavor's such a big moron. He knows nothing about connecting with his kids and tbh? Izuku is making this shit up as he goes, so fingers crossed it works.

-Natsuo is so skeptical of all of this. Like he yells at his dad and Endeavor just sits there staring at him with really, really big eyes. And then he frantically glances over at where Izuku still has his chopsticks raised halfway to his mouth like he somehow knows how to appropriately respond in a way that is not damaging.

-Fuyumi is Izuku's number one fan. Like, he showed up and suddenly their dad is nice. Ofc she adores him

-Izuku showing Endeavor how to use memes should've never happened, but it does. They're friends guys it could actually be really wholesome. Like I know it sounds weird but come on it could be so comical

-Izuku not breaking his bones and acing the entrance exam at first place because he already knows how to use OFA. The past holders are fr confused as hell. They're like "This seems like, maybe not right". Especially when Izuku starts pulling out their quirks without them even giving the greenlight. Such a "what the fuck?" moment

-Endeavor but he's unsure of everything he does and has paranoid anxiety

-Endeavor entering Izuku's middle school because Izuku wasn't responding to his texts, so obviously the enemy MUST have found out he time travelled and taken him, but turns out Izuku was just taking a test and his ringer was off during it. And now there's a bunch of middle schoolers and middle school teachers gawking at him.

-Izuku just sighs when he sees him and is like "Want to stay and talk? I have lunch" so now Endeavor is just sitting in a middle school cafeteria that's practically dead silent nodding along to whatever the fuck Izuku's blabbering on about. Quirks. Endeavor's quirk probably

-Katsuki is fr drilling HOLES into the sides of their heads.

-Endeavor showing up at UA later like "I need to speak to Izuku Midoriya immediately it is an emergency" and everyone thinks Izuku got wrapped up in some serious shit but turns out Izuku just left his phone in the locker room and Endeavor just had a question about smth stupid

-"Will Natsuo get mad if I do his laundry for him or is that a nice thing to do for someone" Like how should Izuku know he doesn't have a son who hates him

-General consensus: don't touch Natsuo's belongings, but feel free to buy him new things

-Edit to general consensus: no, Endeavor, do not buy him mace, a taser, and a knife so big it's almost not legal-- he's not going to get spontaneously murdered in the streets. Izuku meant nice things. Like cable knit sweaters and his favorite candy.

-"What's his favorite candy?" HOW WOULD IZUKU KNOW??

-I imagine Endeavor having a violent aversion to the thought of being Number One now. Like Shoto derisively brings it up and he's like "NO! No, no, that's fine. Number Two is great, perfect even"

-Endeavor Lowkey hasn't ever had any friends ever (bc he was a dick) and now Izuku is his only friend and he's secretly so happy about it on the inside? Except he's not even aware that it is a friendship he's just like "this bond of trust we have formed... I shall buy us matching key chains 🗿"

-Izuku just smiles and goes with it

-Izuku bubbly, optimistic, happy to have a second chance. But the moment the villains show up he goes full ruthless and just fucking murders everyone (Lowkey. Like more maiming maybe. But like no mercy)

-post USJ Izuku bounces out with a stunned Aizawa on his heels. They're both drenched with blood. Tsuyu and Mineta have on shock blankets. Bakugo is terrified. Kirishima threw up (and Todoroki just thought it was cool)

-All Might is like "oh my god youre hurt!"

-and Izuku is like "Oh no, it's not ours 😀!"

-Endeavor in the background just nodding like that makes sense

-Aizawa wants to know when his student got the ability to turn into a fucking eldritch abomination. Strength enhancement his ASS there were SLENDERMAN TENTACLES and they thrashed everyone

-Bye Bye Shigaraki 🖕Nana would've wanted you saved but Izuku sure doesn't, trick ass bitch

-Endeavor is like "He is my youngest son's boyfriend" but Shoto and Izuku are not dating, never did date, and neither know wtf he's talking about

-Endeavor is confused as hell. He's like "you're not?"

-it gets him mad brownie points with Shoto though. Shoto is like "you're not so bad" and Endeavor rides the high for DAYS

-Endeavor doesn't ask what that means but takes his word for it

-Like they came from a devastating and tragic future nobody else will ever know or fully understand at all. They went through losses that will never happen. And they're the only ones who get it, who can look at one another and never have to explain

-Endeavor has mad respect for Izuku and that throws tons of people off
