Pick a monster, what makes it a monster?

Is it blood-stained talons waiting to tear innocent and unassuming people apart? Is it razor-sharp teeth used to rip things apart animalisticly? Sya Serale doesn't know many monsters, outside of her family's usual clientele the young smuggler had an unhealthy habit of isolating herself.

Sya Serale doesn't know what defines a monster.

The blood-stained talons may be accompanied by sad pleading eyes, begging for someone or something to forgive them and see past what everyone else sees. The teeth haunted by its victims may be hidden behind quivering lips and shaking fists.

Not all monsters enjoy being monstrous.

Sya remembered every fight with her parents, every time she had screamed at them with a child-like rage: accusing them of being monsters. But standing with blood-stained hands and an unignited blood-red lightsaber hidden behind her back, sya Serale believes she is the monster, unable to look at her reflection and unable to identify any other monsters.

Pollux thorall had a long history of hunting monsters

From the imaginary monsters, his little sister insisted were under her bed to the lives he had taken working as a bounty hunter as a teenager he had a familiar relationship with death.

Taken from Tatooine by a dark lord of the Sith Pollux had the opportunity to be trained as an acolyte, it was a long and hard seven years before he decided to leave: returning home to his sweet sister- leaving a dead Sith master in the wind

Camelia thorall never expected to be trained in the ways of the Sith, disregarding her force-sensitivity ever since she discovered it as a young girl: but after reuniting with her older brother at twelve the previously impossible finally seemed possible.

Leaving her mother on Naboo and travelling the galaxy with her brother was all Camelia could have ever dreamed of, not that she didn't love her mother (or her father who would occasionally visit the young girl) but Pollux was her best friend. Camelia was notorious amongst the other children and parents Camelia grew up alongside for not being a social butterfly like her mother, but rather struggling with interacting with anybody other than her brother and a select few other people on Naboo.

Arhul Serale had long had a hatred of the Sith and one day wished for her daughter to be found by the Jedi and taken away and be trained to become what Arhul believed to be a hero, but as the years passed and her young daughter grew: nobody came and Sya showed no signs of being force sensitive despite both Arhul herself and her father being strong in the force: Arhul had long loved Zeth Bastra, the white-haired Arkanian working out of the Noviana spaceport as someone who sells smuggled goods. So when Sya was three years old the mother and daughter duo moved to help Zeth in his business by assisting in smuggling and selling from the moment they moved to Arkania.

With the move came Arhuls' relief that if her daughter wasn't strong enough to become a Jedi, she certainly wouldn't be strong enough to join the monstrous Sith.

I. ^ me after researching so much lore for this fic and ignoring half of it just to make Syas story make sense amongst canon/legends lore.

II. This fic is set during the old republic, but no knowledge of the old republic is needed to read this fic! This fic can be read by anybody who has basic knowledge of the star wars universe despite it being lore heavy.

III. Sya is force sensitive! Arhul believes that somehow sya isn't force sensitive (despite having two force sensitive parents) but the reasoning behind sya being 22 (in act one) and yet not having shown any signs of being force sensitive will be explained as the fic progresses.
