Betty kept hearing that song over and over again. She hoped that one song on halsey's album wouldnt be a hit because she was the anoynmous duet partner. Shes not bisexual, halsey is and she was also one of her best friends, so when halsey wanted her to sing a song she wrote and had begged her to say yes and that she'll promise to tell everyone shes straight and anoymous. Betty agreed.

Jughead: BETTY

Betty looked up off the ground to see her group of friends and smiled her drama will have to wait. She sat down next to her boyfriend who recently moved in (im also basing this off the way riverdale couldve ended)

Jughead: so what were you thinking about

In a rush of panic betty scrunched her hand

Betty: nothing

Im the worse liar in the world. Betty repeating that mantra in her head after seeing everyone face of worry

Kevin: any way .. in more light hearted news did you know halsey is arriving back into town for a performance tommorow

Yes betty knew this and she was nervous. She knew hals wouldnt make her do anything but she knew she would have to add strangers to her tracklist and with cameras recording she knew if she doesnt perform with her, hals will have alot of angry and hate tweets. Veronica screemed leaving her boyfriend death

Archie: ow veronica!!

Everyone else laughed at the duo

Veronica: halsey the halsey

Kevin: yeah she used to live here until her family moved

Archie: and her and betty were besties i sometimes saw them laughing through the window

The entire gang gawked at betty in suprise well except jughead. Archie is a terrible secret keeper. Jughead laced his hand in bettys to calm her nerves and to prevent blood covered crescent  shapes in her hand

Betty: yeah i know halsey

She could feel her friends eyes try to burry into her soul and in all honesty she was kind of uncomfortable

Kevin: wait does this mean you know who the anoymous singer is

Betty just rolled her eyes and picked at her food. She couldnt care less the chuckle jughead was trying to contain

Veronica: THAN MEANS YOU DO B

Veronicas hand slaming the table doesnt exactly help.

Betty: V your attracting attention

Archie had somehow got veronica lodge to sit down while betty just said she had a assignment for the blue and gold but she promised kevin and veronica that she would meet at the lodges place for a try on haul for the dance tommorow, unaware of jugheads concerned face. He knew the blue and gold doesnt have any new assignments

Betty shut off the radio as she drove home in now silence. So she descided to call her instead

Halsey: hey girl
Betty: hey halsey

She couldnt help the sigh that came out of her mouth

Halsey: if your still thinking about tommorow...
Betty: i am and i just feel bad

She could hear halsey groan on the other side of the phone

Halsey: b how many times have we had this convo
Betty: alot
Halsey: exactly
Betty: its just i chickened out because i was nervous
Halsey: ...wait... so you didnt chicken out because it might damage your future
Betty: no it might help it but singing is archie and veronica's thing. My thing is..
Halsey: is to get her ass to the dress rehearsal and perfrom damming the consequences and possibly might get sex from her boyfriend who will be aroused from the outfit
Betty: but the entire town will be seated in the front row while fans flock in and my mom angry face will be forever in my mind and

She was getting to stressed for this

Halsey: b i love you and all but you need to shut up and get their early tommorow bye love ya

Halsey hung up and betty was wondering how halsey manage to convince her to do such things

The gang minus betty were sitting at pops waiting for the blonde so they could see halsey then go home or hopefully meet her. Everyone had sensed her nervousness especially jughead. Veronica and kevin were talking about how the entire time betty was doing nervous ticks. Like bouncing her leg and taping her fingers on every surface she laid her hands on

Archie: maybe shes nervous about seeing halsey again

Jughead doubted it. If she was nervous about seeing halsey she would've asked jughead to help her cook a trillion things so no he does think thats the reason but he knows shes nervous about something.

Veronica: finally she arrived

Jughead turned his head and saw his beautiful girl in a pair tight jeans ankle boots and a sparkly tank top with a pink leather jacket. She smiled at them her nerves obviously had calmed down a bit and she looked stunning and he could tell she had alot of makeup on not that he minded but it didn't fit veronicas description of what betty decided and he liked betty's more natural look

Reggie: HEY THEIR BETTY COOPER

She had rolled her eyes as she sat down next to jughead

Archie: wow betty

Veronica: I love your hair and makeup if i had known i would've put you in a mote scandalous outfit b

Kevin: and im sure jughead wouldnt mind

Betty had choked a little on her finished well jugheads finished milkshake she didn't order anything because she didn't want to bloat for the performance. And jughead had noticed it too. she hasn't eaten a thing and they were supposed to leave, he shrugged it off for the moment but he will definetly invite betty for a meal after the performance, after all eating is one of his many talents

That was the song betty was listening to while sitting in the front with her friends and her family and their family sheriff Keller had also came to support halsey.

Polly: betty you might want to take out those headphones mom is side glancing you

She just nodded and took out her earbuds looking at that one stand soon to be two

Jughead: look at all the fans its crazy

And it was true it was crazy their was no space to stand except a beeline for the hallway

Archie: i bet your happy to see halsey after all this time

Betty just nodded with a smile. He was right seeing halsey was great. The stage lights had turned on and out came halsey in all her high red fashion (The photo at the top) and placed a mix stand next to a guitar player to move for the last song. Jughead placed a hand on betty shaky leg

Jughead: something has been bothering you and it makes us especially me really concerned whats the matter betts

She opened her mouth but halsey cut her off

Halsey: HEY ITS REALLY EXCITING FOR ME TO SEE YOU ALL ESPECIALLY MY OLD TOWN I HOPE YOU ENJOY

Betty cheered and danced along with the gang despite her mother's ushers for her to sit down but hurracaine was about to play in a few seconds and she had to go so she kissed jughead goodbye and ran off

Jughead was worried no scratch that very worried betty seemed nervous he hopes over something good. Halsey turns her microphone sideways and the guitarist places the other stand facing the opposite way

Kevin: what is she doing

The backtrack for strangers came on and everyone started screaming even Archie like a little schoolgirl

He glares at them both. He smiles at her still. This is why she was so nervous.

She takes the mix away from the stand to interact with the audience

Archie: we have to get in front

Veronica nodded with the same vigor. While jughead just openly checks out his girlfriend who is not wearing a bra and also openly admiring her beautiful voice

She's never listening, she says it's innocent

Halsey starts to walk in a circle around betty as she smiles at Polly

She doesn't let me have control anymore

They both start to sing and the look like they've been practicing for hours

Jughead turns to see mrs cooper smiling at her daughter

Halsey just went onto her knees looking at betty who just smiled she was a shining star up there

They walked back to their original mic stands. Jughead doesn't want this to end she looks so happy up upon that stage

The crowd erupted in cheers as they both walk off stage

Betty had her pink leather jacket on her to cover up her exposed breasts she kept her outfit on after halsey promised to go to pops to meet her friends Tomorrow she had also given back the clothes that were veronicas

Jughead: you were so amazing

He nuzzled her neck. They were laying on his old bed in fps trailer who went to archies house with Fred after the performance both congratulating her. Then they went to pops where the gang  had praised her also before going home

Jughead: even if you don't believe me you are so much better than all of the white noise

And for the first time she believed him.
