You looked how the migration service guys closed the truck's storage door and made their way to the front, and you knew you had to go. You let out a sob upon realizing you had to let go of Steve soon. You wished that you could hold on to him just for a little longer, that you could freeze time for just the two of you, standing there for the rest of the day. But you knew that wasn't possible.

Would your relationship take the distance? You had no doubt of that, but it would be hard as you wouldn't be seeing each other very often. But you'd get through it - and when you would be old enough to move to your own house, you'd do it with Steve. You'd move in with him and be happy. You'd grow old together and smile at the memories of you as teenagers. You'd be there to see the 2000 together, watch the grand fireworks as they would light up the sky in honor of the new millenium - you'd be there to see if there would be flying cars as all those scifi movies claim. You'd go to roadtrips and travel the world. You would get through this.

"Don't forget about me." Steve muttered as he walked beside the slowly moving car and held your hand. "Write to me. I want to hear everything so I'll know where I'll take you to a date when I get there."

You offered him a sad smile as you pressed a kiss on his knuckles before you let go. "I will."
