Summary: Eddie decides to save Hawkins by sacrificing himself by fighting demobats to death. But you won't let that happen.

Damn you Eddie, you cursed as you bumped on the floor of his Upside Down-trailer. You barely heard Dustin screaming that you must find him, you must save him, you just bolted out from the trailer and started running to where you saw a cloud of bats.

Last four years of your life had been crazy. First, you had ran away with El from the laboratory, you had learned to talk properly for the first time in all of your 17 years of living your life. You had learned to behave properly, watch El fall in love with Mike - and then you secretly fell in love with Eddie three years later. You were weird to a lot of people in Hawkins High, and he was weird to a lot of people too. You would be a perfect fit, if you would have just told him about your feelings.

And then he just had to play a hero to get Chrissy off his conscience. Damn him.

Your feet had never carried you so fast, not even when you had been chased by the government. World around you faded, you didn't hear anything, you felt like you were watching the situation from afar.

You almost tripped, but then steadied yourself, your hands grazing the ground - and then you saw him, lying on the ground, the bats picking on his body.

"No!" you screamed, sending the strongest shockwave you had ever created forward, and the bats flew away - some hitting the trailers, some hitting the trees, some got spooked and were flying away. You wasted no time after that, basically sliding beside Eddie on your knees, pulling him on your lap, looking over his injuries before you looked his face. He looked puzzled at first, blinking at you, as if he didn't expect you stepping in to save him.

He was alright. A few wounds, but nothing he wouldn't survive.

You let out an angry scoff, swatting his chest, the tension finally breaking as your tears started to flow. "Don't ever do that again! Don't run away from me, you hear me? I could... I could have..."

Eddie frowned as you tore your eyes away from his face, looking up, tears still streaming down you cheeks as you tried to calm down.

He sat up with a small groan, and you knew he was looking at you, but you weren't looking at him. You just took deep breaths, trying to calm yourself - and then you felt Eddie's hand on your cheek. Your eyes snapped to him that instant, and you barely got time to register it before his lips were on yours.

Your eyes widened at first, but then instinctively fluttering closed, returning the kiss. Your lips moved together for some seconds, before he pulled away, letting his forehead rest against yours.

"I will never run away from you again, princess," he mumbled, and you nodded as tears started to fall again, your hands coming up to cradle his face, his hands resting on top of yours.

You then heard heavy breathing and running steps, looking up to see Dustin standing there, resting his hands on his knees.

"Glad you guys finally found each other, but we really should go," he panted and you nodded, helping Eddie up and you ran back to his trailer hand in hand. He was finally a hero to Hawkins, even if people of Hawkins would never acknowledge it.

But it didn't really matter anymore, because those who knew the truth would always be there for him. And you'd always support him.
