A/N Steve and Eddie have been dating at the beginning of season 3 (Steve was flirting to keep suspicion of him dating a man) no one knew of it till Eddie's death, Steve has had a mental shut down top which he can't really look after himself and theadults have to help to look after Steve. TW for medical inaccuracy, abusive parents, slurs, mentions of blood/volicens and talks of euthinatier.

Third POV

It has been four weeks since the fight in the upside down Max's coma, Eddie's death and it's been three weeks since Steve's shutdown this was very unexpected and no one in the party knows what to do, they had El try and talk to him in his mind but there was nothing there it was like he died in his head.

Nancy,Robin and Jonathan mainly looked after Steve the kids did try and help but it was just small takes like brushing his hair or taking him out him for walks (put in a wheelchair) it does seem to make him smile a bit. After those three weeks the trio moved into steve's home to help more and be there so he did not feel lonely, suddenly the kids got busy with school and the feeling that something is coming back.

Dustin's POV

When we got the message of something is trying to come through I quickly thought about Steve who can't protect himself after this I need to see them and tell them what is going on, "so do you think it is something bad or something nice ?" Lucas asked Mike and El looked at him for awhile then El said "I am not sure" we all looked at each other hoping it's nothing bad but it is Hawkins so anything could happen.

As we got to Steve's house we could see Nancy, Robin and jonathan along with Argyle in the front room three of them are sat down while someone is walking around in a circle who I think might be Nancy doing that, we got to the door and knocked on it to see Robin not being her usual self "hey Robin how is he doing?" I asked she looked at me for a few more minutes she said "Steve's parents got in contact and said they were never going to come home if we don't put him into a physic ward".

I could not believe what I just heard I looked past into the house to see Steve looking happy in some way he can in his shutdown form I walked into after Robin moved out the way, the rest of the party follows I walk to the kitchen to then sit next to Steve and I just grab his hand to show I am there.

Later in the night.

As I was looking out of the window I saw a flash of black hair going into the woods I have only ever know one person to have long black hair but he is dead so it couldn't be who I think it was but again it is Hawkins so again anything could happen.

Then next day.

I got up and I decided to go into the woods to see what I saw last night I got my backpack and left through the door then walked towards the woods to hopefully see what was going on, as I was walking through the woods I could hear twigs snapping and heavy breathing I did start to get freaked out. I kept going despite my best ideas but I had to know what that thing was but I would regret that as I have found a campsite with dead campers with blood everywhere, I stood there for a while not noticing the thing coming towards me till it was a little too late.

I was pushed onto the floor with something on top of me growling I then opened my eyes to see.......... "EDDIE!" I shouded which seemed to shock him and he jumped off me then backed into a tree looking scared, "Eddie it's ok it's Dustin remember me I am not going to hurt you" I said a lot more quietly which seemed to calm him and he did look at like he knew who I am. "Dustin ....... why are you here?" he asked I looked at him thinking he could not speak for some dumb reason but he could " I was here because I saw something run into the forest ..... so I guess that was you?" I asked he looked at me and nodded I nodded back understanding and we just sat there for awhile not saying anything and enjoying being next to each other again. 

I decided to think of a idea to bring him to the other adults to see if him being here could help Steve then Eddie comes out with this " how is Steve? I regret not telling him I love him sooner" I stood up in shock, Eddie looked at me he looked quite hurt I noticed my reaction might have hurt him. "No no no Eddie I am not disgusted at your relationship am just shocked about it that's all". This seems to relax Eddie and says "thanks Dustin I just get worried about what people will say about us.......... mainly Steve because I am his first male relationship and I just feel like me dying just made his fears worse", I look at him thinking on everything then asked "how did you two meet or ....... start dating?" 

Eddie looks at me then smiles to then answer "well we meet when Steve was working at Scoopcs ahoy ..... well we did know each other in school but never talked but when we did talk was when Steve was shutting down the shop, we kept talking and eventually started dating at the begging of the year and well you can guess the rest". I kept standing there talking in what was just said then said "well would you like to see him?" he looked at me and nodded so we walked to Steve's house I could tell that Eddie is nervous about seeing Steve again and that is where I remembered on what happened to Steve and had to tell Eddie.  

"Uuummm Eddie there is something I have to tell you it's about Steve" he looked at me with worry in his eyes "what do you mean there is something wrong with him" I looked at him then explained what was wrong with Steve. He ran to Steve's door after finding out what has happened then rappiedly knocking or baning on the door, then Nancy came to the door and nealy all colour left her face.

"What ..... I.....I don't" was all she get out before Eddie bumped into her to get pashed her and ran upstaiers to what I think was Steve's room were he is most of the time I ran up to help Nancy get back up to which she asked "what the fuck is Eddie doing back he is dead?" I looked at he not knowing what to say so I just said " it's kind of a long story I will explain soon ok" she nodded and we both went inside. To go upstairs only to find Steve's door open and Eddie hugging Steve who is doing the same thing ....... he hasn't moved like that for a while it seems that Eddie beining here has seemed to help so we just left it till tomorrow.

At night.      

I decided to stay the night so I can talk to both Eddie and Steve in the morning as I was starting to get ready to go to sleep I heard what I think was a window crashing, I ran upstairs to see what was going on to find Nancy,Robin,Jonathan and Argyle at Steve's door they saw me and they opened the door to see that the window was broken. This was because it may have seem that Eddie might have broken it and took Steve with him, they did leave a note saying they will be in touch when they can with no explanation were they went so we wait for that letter to come.
