After the battle, Siva didn't leave my side for the rest of the week. He and the annoying witch doctor, Jinx.

The council grounded me, again.

Just to clarify things, the council isn't a bunch of old guys keeping the kingdom safe because I'm too young to do it myself.

No, of course not.

It's just a catchy nickname I gave to my private babysitting team, which includes Siva the steward butler, Jinx the head doctor, Jean the head wardrobe designer, Elliot the assistant butler of Siva, and countless other people I happened to forget their names at the moment.

Well, maybe I just don't bother to remember them.

Hehe.

The blue liquid potion Jinx gave me, hasn't started to show the symptoms, yet. Although more importantly, I'm bored out of my mind and have nothing better to do.

Eh.

Siva is starting to get a little..well A LOT overprotective lately, I guess it could be the fact that today I'm about to go back to school and he probably doesn't think 3 bodyguards will be enough.

Asshole.

I'm stuck in my room, watching a comedy sitcom. I've also been put on house arrest, yay me.

I suddenly feel movement behind my door. "Jinx, how many times do I have to tell you! I didn't take the green potion-"

I'm interrupted by a familiar voice that doesn't belong to Jinx. I slowly turn around to check who it is.

"What? Your not going to say 'hey' back?" I notice it's Bree standing at the door.

"Oh, right. Hi." I say, feeling a bit awkward. Bree floats over to my bed and looks at my tv.

"Funny show. I love Thomas, he's always trying to act like a badass even though he's short and scrawny." Bree says trying to start a conversation.

"Yeah, I know, but I prefer Janet. She's a cunning and back stabbing person...remind you of anyone?" I say trying to sound subtle.

"Hm?...yeah! She reminds me of the demons I use to work with!" She says laughing to herself.

I mentally slap myself.

What an idiot.

"Oh shut up." I say and Bree looks confused at me. "Oh! Sorry, not you, I was talking to the voices." I say and Bree slowly steps back.

"Uh..I think I'm going to get Jinx now..!" She says and walks out the room.

Great, you sure handled that nicely.

"Didn't I tell you to shut up?" I say and the voice finally dies away. I lay back on my bed and ponder the earlier events of the week.

First, I mysteriously received that gash on my leg. Then, the sorcerer tells me that they found my scent the same day of my injury.

Which makes me suspicious of Bree, since the same day she came home, I got the gash and she was close enough to sniff my scent.

Finally, the sorcerer tells me there's a greater evil out there ready to kick my ass out of my throne.

Good luck with that!

Damn. You know, I was normal once. I continue to lay on my bed before Jinx walks in and he grabs my arm.

"Yes Jinx, you can come in." I say sarcastically, but he just ignores my comment. "This should keep those pesky voices away, for now that is."

He says after he's giving me my first dose of 'medicine' for the day. He takes out a small flashlight and examines the inside of my right cast.

"How's your arm? Is the cast making your skin irritate and causing repeated itching?" He asks me with his annoying, doctor voice.

"Nah, I'm fine, but I still haven't experienced any memory loss yet." I say curious about the topic.

"Good. That means the potion is working." He says, but this only confuses me. "I thought you said memory loss was one of the symptoms of the potion?" I ask.

Jinx stands up and grabs a container of pills. "So you were paying attention, you continue to impress me."

He says and I remember my sudden outburst when I heard the news of my broken arm. "Jeez, sorry I was too worried about a broken arm and not a few tiny symptoms." I remark back at his sudden sarcasm.

Jinx drops 2 pills into a glass of water and hands it to me. "Drink this, it should help with the migraine and the nausea." He tells me and I drink the pills.

"Well, I guess this is the perfect moment for me to explain the rest of the symptoms." Jinx says as he pulls a clipboard out, along with a pen.

"I'll write them down so you won't forget." He says and I gawk at him.

"How many symptoms are there?!" I say and he raises his head and smiles. "Just a few, but knowing you, you'll probably be too lazy to remember." He says and I glare at him.

"Let's see here..you'll experience stomach flu, so daily trips to the bathroom will be mandatory, then there's a runny nose, so remember to bring packs of tissues, you'll also have food cravings, and.."

My thoughts start to wonder off as Jinx's list continues to drag on.

Tick toc Elizabeth, almost time to go back to school. Hope Asjha's in a good mood. Not.

"Who the hell asked you?!" I scream at the voice inside my head that keeps irritating me by the second.

Then I turn around to see Jinx staring at me. "I think I should talk to Siva about giving you more doses from now on." He says and I glare at him once more.

"I'm. Not. Crazy! I already explained this to the bull-dog!" I say and Jinx laughs at me.

"Sure, whatever makes you feel better." He says and walks out of my room.

What? No comeback? Hmph, pitiful.

"Gah! I'm not crazy!!" I say yelling at the voice inside my head once more, the same one that made me jump off a cliff back at my realm.

That's right, I'm back. Hope your not the same cry baby from before though.

"Grrrr..." I get off my bed and look for my uniform inside my closet. As I rummage my closet looking for my uniform, I start wondering more about Bree.

"She left for an entire day, just to go take a walk..?" I give deep thought into any possible betrayal I could have from Bree.

I still can't believe the trust you have in your friends. What are you, six? To adults, friends are nothing more than company.

My instincts flare up and I feel a presence behind me, so I turn around and notice my cape is flying in midair.

"Wait." An idea suddenly flashes in my mind and I begin to connect the dots. "This voice inside my head..is the magic in my cape?" I suddenly connect the voice inside my head with my mind and then I have another idea.

"No...it's the magic inside of me..?"

That's right, dumbass. Hmph, I thought with age came wisdom. Guess you haven't change.

"Oh, screw you!" I say pitifully and finally put on my uniform. "Let's see.. Bree said she forgot her way home, but.. Maybe she's still in leagued with the demons?" I bite my lower lip and think deeply again.

"Maybe she planned this whole thing from the start to get my scent? Maybe she's the one who gave me that gash." The web of possible scenarios begin to give me a headache.

Oh please, don't give her that much credit. She's an idiot.

"Well...yeah I guess she is.." I grab my cape and stuff it into my bag.

I deserve better treatment than this.

"Oh get stuffed!" I say and walk out of my room. "I'm ready!" I walk to my kitchen and notice 3 men sitting on my couch.

Siva walks in and introduces them to me. "Young Mistress, these men have been hand-picked to become your bodyguards while your out of my sight." He says and the men stand up together.

"Commander Lonzo, Commander Kane, and our best soldier-" the man interrupts Siva and extends his hand. "Please your highness, call me Hector, Hector Smith." I look at the man and notice he's the same soldier that rescued me.

"You're the soldier that smiled at me." I say and, as if one cue, he smiles back at me. "Thank you, you were amazing." I say and he takes the back of my hand and plants a soft kiss on it.

"The pleasure was all mine, your highness." He gazes at me and I can't help but blush.

How embarrassing.

I ignore the voice's remark and continue to talk. "Please, call me Elizabeth." I say and then I feel my entire face heat up. Siva and Jinx noticing this, each grab one of my opposite arms and pulls me closer towards them.

Over protective freaks.

For the first time today, I agree with the voice. "Well, now that we have all introduced ourselves, we should leave. We don't want our queen tardy." Jinx responds with a fake smile, along with Siva.

With that, everyone escorts me out of my apartment except for Siva.

"Have fun!" Bree waves me off and I smile weakly at her. "Are you alright, Elizabeth?" Hector asks me, noticing my expression.

I walk beside him as we all walk toward the elevator. "Yeah, I just feel a little embarrassed." I say, technically telling the truth. Hector takes my hand and squeezes reassuringly.

"Don't worry, I'll make sure nobody causes you trouble." He says and let's go of my hand, making me blush again.

We all walk inside the elevator and get off once we reach our floor. We walk out heading for the parking lot when I hear my name being called.

I turn around and notice it's Kalis.

"Kalis? Oh..uh, hey!" I say and face him. I still feel a little awkward from our earlier meeting, but I manage a smile.

"Bodyguards? Never took you for the rich girl type." He says and I nod a little embarrassed. My bodyguards stand in front of me while Jinx holds my arm protectingly.

"Please state your name and business, sir." Hector says and I escape Jinx's grasp and run in front of Kalis.

"Calm down guys! He's just my friend." I say and Kalis puts his arm around me and lowers his head to speak in my ear from behind.

"Really? After the last time I saw you, I really believed we were more than just friends." He says and my entire face reddens.

I slap a hand over Kalis' mouth and laugh bitterly. "Haha, that was so funny! You sure know how to make me laugh, Kalis!" I say and feel his tongue sway on my hand.

My face could have been mistaken for a tomato. I jerk it away and Kalis smirks at me. Obviously amused.

"Well I have to go, Elizabeth we have a date tonight by the way." He grabs a pen from his breast pocket and signs my cast.

"Don't bring company." Kalis says, fixes his glasses, and waves goodbye, leaving Jinx and Hector glaring daggers at him.

You know, an excellent leader never allows anyone to recognize their emotions.

Ignoring my cape, I walk in front of my guards like nothing happened. Hector and Jinx grab the cast on my arm.

"Who exactly was he?" They both ask me at the same time. I stare back at them with a lazy expression on my face.

"Someone who loves to embarrass me because they find my expression 'adorable'." I respond and hop in the back seat of my car.

Hector and Jinx look nonplussed, but they still hop in. Hector is in the driver's seat and Jinx is in the passenger's seat while Lonzo and Kane are in the back with me, I'm in the middle.

Does this constant security make you feel like a criminal?

My cape asks and I nod my head and mumble a 'yeah'. Everyone stares at me while I'm having a mental conversation with my cape.

I suddenly notice and try to explain. "Sorry, the voice." I say pointing at my head like it's the most casual thing in the world, while they continue to stare.

We finally arrive at my college and Kane opens the door for me. I walk out and feel hundreds of pairs of eyes on me. The entire school is looking at me, my bodyguards, and my doctor.

Great.

They walk me to my first classroom, while I continue to feel everyone's eyes staring at me. We walk in the classroom and I notice Elliot.

He notices me and walks up to us. "Bodyguards? What did she get herself into this time, Jinx?" Elliot ask and Jinx fills him in.

"She's been poisoned and requires my medical help. The demons have tracked her scent, so she needs these bodyguards for protection. She might experience memory loss, so would you mind giving her extra help on her studies?" Jinx says and almost bores me to death.

Metaphorically of course.

Out of the corner of my eye, I notice Asjha walk into the classroom and gawk at me. I hide behind Elliot and she merely walks to her seat.

Elliot notices and responds. "She's been worried sick, you should talk to her." He recommends and I nod my head quietly. I walk to my seat and speak calmly, looking down at my desk.

"Hey." I say and Asjha doesn't respond.

"What happened the last time I saw you was an accident. I wanted you to come, but I had a problem." I say and Asjha finally looks at me.

"Problem? You mean your boyfriend." She says and I nod my head. "He's not my boyfriend, but I was hoping I could become his, if I had some alone time with him." She listens intently and that encourages me to continue.

"When I remembered the promise I made you, I didn't want to seem inconsiderate because if I let you come, you would have been a third wheel." I say and she nods her head understandingly.

I fake a tear and continue to look down at my desk. "I'm sorry, I messed up, big time." I say and she speaks at me firmly.

"What happened to you? I saw one of your bodyguards carrying you to a limo, you looked horrible." She says referring to Hector. Then I realize she was the girl I saw that day.

Damn, this is gonna get interesting.

I ignore my cape and think hard for another believable lie. "Uh..the day after you met Kalis, I became sick from food poisoning. When you add the horrible state I was already in, it was hell for me." She looks at me and I return her stare, faking more tears.

"Then I had gotten an anonymous text message from someone saying they were going to hurt you, if I didn't show up for school that day..." I finish and she moans with despair and hugs me tightly.

"That's why you were at the college! You were trying to protect me! Even after I yelled at you and accused you of being a horrible friend!" She says and starts crying.

I rub her back reassuringly and continue my lie. "The men showed up and beaten me bad, that's how I got this cast, but Hector saved me before they could do anymore damage." I say and she looks at me again.

"So, you have a doctor because of the food poisoning and the guards are for protection?" She ask and I nod my head.

"Forgive me?" I say and she nods her head smiling. Jinx and Elliot walk up to us and hands us each a box of tissues.

We accept the jester and giggle at each other. Elliot winks at me and I wink back.

Elizabeth Stone! And let's not forget the award of Worst Friend Ever!

I kick my bag hard after hearing that remark.

"Hey! That's my line!" I say and glare at my bag. Asjha looks confused and turns to face Jinx for an answer.

"I think she needs another dose of her medicine." He says and I laugh bitterly at him.
