Chapter 5: The Troublesome Victory
I fly past buildings, dogging them as well, until I finally reached my college. I land swiftly on my feet and rise to look for anything out of the ordinary.
I silently stand for 2 minutes, until time continues to tick by and I end up waiting for 4 minutes..7..11..13..
Then I suddenly lose it.
"Gah! Where the hell is all the goddamn action?!" I say jumping up and down, throwing a temper tantrum.
I suddenly receive a call from my watch. "It's the general from the fairytale side..." I mutter and answer the call.
"Your highness! The new authority you granted us for the interrogation worked!" She says and I remember the meeting I had with my generals during my detention.
"So? What did you find?" I say intrigued by this sudden outcome.
"The unidentified beings were demons in disguise! They weren't going to kill you at wonderland, they were going to capture you!" She says and my eyes widen.
"Demons? Well that's no surprise, since they sent their weakest kin to continue the attacks on The Kingdoms. They must have needed their strongest to capture me." I say coolly and the general agrees with me.
"Yes, your highness now that we have discovered this new data I must warn you to be careful. They might continue to look for you."
She says and out of nowhere I hear a loud boom, I whirl my head around and notice fire and smoke rising from one of the buildings.
"Thank you general, but I have to go!" I say and hang up as I race toward the scene and knock the door down with a single kick. I hear screams and try to pinpoint the noise, but it suddenly stops.
I turn around and see my reflection in one of the locker doors.
Crap! I'm still wearing my pajamas!
I quickly hide behind a corner and look around for any witnesses. Once I check the coast is clear, I call for my cloak and it comes flying over me at top speed.
Once it lands on me, I start to transform and my identity is completely concealed. After I'm finished, I run ahead and turn my watch on.
"General!" I yell and continue to contact anyone. "Your highness! The demons are attacking from the rear of the building your now in. They have a sorcerer fighting among them, along with other unidentified mages."
I've run out of the building, taking the directions from my general, and I burst out of the doors.
"You weren't kidding..."
I mutter to myself and gawk at the view. I count at least 30 demons and 10 mages, but only 1 sorcerer. I look around and finally find my generals and some of my soldiers fighting gruesomely. I dash towards them and pry information from them.
"Why the hell are there mages and a sorcerer fighting along with the demons?!
What the hell are demons even doing here?!
What the hell is going on?!"
I say blasting balls of fire at our enemy. One of my soldiers runs in front of me to block an attack. He later digs his sword into the demon's mouth to which blood gushing out in the process.
"Huh..? Oh!..uh thank you!" I say smiling as polite as possible. The soldier returns my smile and continues to fight on the battlefield.
"That's one of our newest recruits, my lady. I hope you see his skills and strengths are exceptional?" My general asked me, but I take a moment to respond, since I'm trying to pry off a demon's head off with my bare hands.
"Yes, he's perfect. Give him a promotion!" I say half listening as I struggle with the demon. The demon bites into my arm, sinking its sharp teeth into my skin.
I bleed rapidly and I start getting dizzy, I shake it off and grow unnaturally long claws and rip the demon's head.
"Ha! Ah..ah..FINALLY!" I say moving my hands around triumphantly. "Your highness! Your bleeding!" My general examines my arm and quickly drags me away from the battlefield.
"Hey! I said I'm fine! St..stop!" I say trying to escape, but he only holds me tighter. "Your our first priority! You have to stay safe at all times! We cannot allow otherwise!" He says bandaging my arm vigorously.
"What the hell is that?!"
I say pointing behind him. The general whirls his head around and holds his sword protectingly. "Where?!" He asks me, but I've taken this chance to run.
"Sucker!"
I say and run into a mage. He looks at me and automatically knows who I am. "The Protector?!" He backs away and readies his attack.
I stand firmly and I expand my arms. "Well? What are you waiting for? HIT ME!" I say confidently and he shoots a blast of magical energy towards me.
I call upon a cold force and a stalagmite rises from the ground, impaling the mage. I shield myself from his earlier blast with a wall of ice.
"Asshole."
I mutter to myself skipping past the mage. I suddenly gain speed and run towards the sorcerer, hungry for flesh!
There's a battled field smothered in combat, so I transform into the Invisible Man. I walk nonchalantly pass soldiers and demons, dogging attacks, and whistling casually.
Most of the demons and men twirl their heads around looking for the source of the whistling, but since I'm invisible, their attempts are meaningless.
Suckers.
Turning invisible was so much easier than just fighting my way to the sorcerer! I laugh to myself and continue to walk towards the sorcerer.
The man seems like he's in his mid-thirties. He's wearing a dark purple cloak, covered in demonic signs. He's fighting off 2 of my soldiers and he seems to have complete concentration as he does so.
Dumbass.
Hasn't anyone taught this guy, that when he's fighting in battle, he should always stay on high alert about his surroundings, not just his enemies?
I sure as hell spent two damn hours learning about that from Siva, so what makes this sorcerer think I'm going to let him off so easily?
I transform into the Phantom Of The Opera and I pounce on the man. I open my mouth and sing a tune.
My voice emits a loud frequency that can shatter glass and, in this case, destroy ear drums. The man falls to his knees, covering his ears, and I summon a sword from my vault. I raise my sword and thrust it towards him.
The man raises his hand and a bubble of magic devours him in protection, avoiding my attack. He shoots magical daggers at me while I'm off guard and a wave of bandages stops the blades.
The bandages drop down in midair because I'm the one controlling them. The man looks at my face and stares in horror.
"What? Are you gonna cry for your mummy?"
I say laughing menacingly. I slowly walk towards him and move sluggishly around the bandages wrapped around my body also with Egyptian clothing on top of them.
I turn around and notice many of my soldiers surrounding me..
But with their backs facing me.
"...Their protecting me..because the demons are...protecting you." I mumble under my breath and realize the man heard what I said.
He stands up and tries to defend himself by casting spells from different directions. I call for an Egyptian weapon from my vault, so that way it will become more powerful with my transformation.
I raise the staff and light shines into multiple direction coming from the emerald crystal. The light diminished all the spells and I dismissed my weapon, walking straight to the sorcerer.
I know this man must have valuable information if these demons are defending him.
"Why are you attacking this college?!" I say with my voice that commands authority.
"We were..looking for the..the.." He says stuttering with cowardice.
"Looking for what?!" I say forcing the truth out of him.
"Th..the queen!" He says, tears welling up in his eyes.
"How did you find her?!" I say raising a bandage in the air and tangling it around his neck, almost choking him.
"All I know..is that the demons..found her scent..and the nearest place...was this school!" He says and I go speechless.
Two nights ago, Bree showed up with the demons, but they confused me with someone else.
So, what does this mean? Sure, I lost a lot of blood while I was battling Kurtis...but I used a potion to cover up my scent..so if it wasn't back then, then when?
"Gah!" I snap out of thoughts when I realize the man's face is dark purple. I let my bandages free and the man gasps for air.
I raise my leg and push his stomach so he falls on the ground. I place my foot firmly on his head, trapping him, and I raise my sword I had called for earlier.
"You have 5 seconds to tell me when you discovered her scent!" I say glaring daggers at him.
"T..TODAY!" He says covering his face with his arms. I gawk at him, completely overwhelmed with shock.
Everyday I drink the same potion, it disguises my smell so if I'm ever in a battle, it hides my scent when I bleed...but when I woke up, I didn't take the potion and I had that gash on my leg..but how?
The disinfectant Siva used was also meant to disguise my smell...although if anyone was close enough, they still could sniff my scent. Siva and I were alone..except for..
"Is that all?!" I say eyeing the man coldly.
"You'll pay for this! The demons will overpower you weaklings!" The sorcerer says and I can't help but laugh sarcastically.
"Oh really? Look around sorcerer, what do you see?" I say pointing towards the fallen demons.
"I'll tell you what I see, I see intolerant beasts hopelessly trying to overcome the queen's greatest rule. Just face it, you and your demons will never defeat her, she firmly believes that failure is never one of her options." I say secretly flattering myself.
"I wouldn't be so sure of your precious little princess, Protector!" He says mocking me, which only makes me lower my weapon.
"The demons are the least of your worries! For a more powerful evil that will soon rise! One that has a thing for dismissing magic, haha!" He laughs uncontrollably and this jester only makes me burn with more anger.
"Asshole."
I dig the sword dip inside his head. I lift his dead body into the air and slice his head off. I drop the body and grab the head, then I turn around, raising my arm up high and holding the dead sorcerer's head in my grasp.
"THIS IS WHAT YOU FIGHT FOR?! THIS IS WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN?! THEN YOU ARE NOTHING MORE THAN INSOLENT COWARDS!"
I scream and my soldiers raise their arms in triumph as I insult the demons. "YOUR ALL BETTER OFF DEAD, WOULDN'T MAKE MUCH OF A DIFFERENCE!"
I raise my sword, pumping tremendous amounts of magic from my body to the blade. I whirl the sword around in the air and create an enormous portal in the sky.
"RUN LIKE THE TRUE COWARDS THAT YOU REALLY ARE!" I sprout fangs out of my mouth and growl intensely, intimidating the demons.
Then I nod my head to one of my generals, giving an order. The general raises his shield and the rest of the soldiers respond to his signal.
Moments later the soldiers drive the demons back and the beasts eventually give in and fall to the embarrassment of flying away from the battle field.
Once the scene is over, there is only complete silence. "All hail the queen!" My general announces, obviously satisfied by the speech I gave to the demons, and all the soldiers bow down on one knee with their right hand over their chest.
I stand with my sword raised in the air, but I suddenly feel nauseous. My eyelids start to feel heavy and I start to sway back and forth uncontrollably.
"Y..your highness?!"
I hear voices in the background, but I ignore them when I fall on the ground. Clutching my stomach, I suddenly vomit forcefully.
"Ah..ah..he..help me..!"
I begin panting and I try to hold back more vomit. I feel so dizzy that when I open my eyes, everything is a double. Tears start dripping from my eyes caused by the horrible pain in my stomach.
I suddenly feel myself being lifted up into the air. I open my eyes and noticed it's the same soldier that smiled back at me.
I look at him and he looks at me, then I force the muscles in my face to form a weak smile. His expression merely worsen when he sees this.
Then I realize the soldier is racing towards the front of the college with my general. I feel the fabric of the soldier's uniform and realize he just used magic to change it into a suit, along with my general.
Damn, I'm pretty sure I look like a rich kid getting saved by her two bodyguards. It hurts to even think, but I manage.
From all the running, I start feeling vomit rise up in my throat and I clutch the man's suit.
He notices and tries to soothe me by assuring me that were almost there. I can sense a limo parked nearby, but it doesn't interest me as my temperature starts to rise and I feel my throat worsen.
I start breathing ruggedly and sometimes I gasps for air, but even through all the pain, I still notice a vague figure of tall girl with short Afro hair.
