Chapter 17: Back To The Chains Of 'Reality'
I spend an hour discussing my strategic plan with my followers. I propose that when I arrive back home, with the help of ancient magical stones, since I don't know the spell to transport to earth, I'll have to recruit a team that will have the knowledge and strength to find Connor J. Smith.
Of course, I'll have to recruit the team after I've confirmed Siva and the others are alright.
I explain the last bit of my plan and wait to hear suggestions from the others. Red is the first one to criticize me.
"I'm not really comfortable with you recruiting humans, what if you'll have to show your identity? I don't believe they'll take you seriously, but let's say they do believe you, they could bring problems to The Kingdoms if they spill the truth to the rest of the world."
Red finishes and the others nod their heads and mumble in approval. I rest my palms on the table as I'm standing up.
"First of all, I don't think anyone will believe them, people will just take them as insane lunatics, but if they do I will assure you I will kill them before they can create problems for The Kingdoms."
I complete my promise and stare carefully at their reactions. Hatter and Ches both stand up together to ask about my options. "Are you sure human recruits will suffice?"
Ches asks me with a wagging tail that means mischief and pride. "I have to agree, humans tend to snap in half when it comes to combat."
Hatter says snapping a twig in half to make his point, but what makes me perplexed is where he got that twig in the first place. I shake the thought away and ponder to answer their questions.
"I would use monsters or fairytale creatures instead, but humans would seem as the better option, since they'll have more knowledge of their home turf, that I'll be prowling."
I say and cause the others to nod in agreement. I grin with pleasure as I see everyone's approval, but my smile fades as I notice Jean's brooding expression.
As if on cue, Jean stands up and catches my attention. "What will you do if Siva and the others aren't alright?" He ask me but I lower my head to show confusion.
"What do you mean?"
I ask and the others start to listen intently and await Jean's response. "What if the intruders captured Siva and the others? What if there guarding your apartment and awaiting for you to come back and save your companions? I don't know about you, but I'm sure you'll be expecting a trap." Jean finishes and the others start agreeing with him.
"You don't have to worry your pretty little head about that, I have friends I can stay with until I deal with the intruders."
I respond and everyone else remains silent. I erase the white board and put the marker back where it belonged. Now that my plan has been laid out I can finally tell the others of their positions in my strategy.
"I will quickly begin my plan and I also have to assign assignments for the rest of you.."
I begin and the others shift in their seats awaiting my orders.
"All of you must stay out of my way. No one will interrupt me, no one will stop me, and no one will especially question me. Is that clear?"
I demand attention to myself as I speak with complete authority toward the others. Their expressions are in complete denial, but they hold back their protests, seeing as how my ranking is higher than all of theirs.
I walk out of the room and shut the door as I leave. I continue walking until I find a familiar scent. I knock on a door and wait for a response. "Come in, it's open!" I hear the reply and waltz into the room, but I don't see anyone inside.
I sense movement and smell a distinct scent behind me. An arm moves toward me and I snatch it as I flip the person over my back. I continue to hold the arm as I use my foot to keep the person in place on the floor.
"Ow! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you!" I hear the plea from the little 13-year-old. I sneer at his expression and lower my head to meet eye level with him.
"Does it look like I'm scared? I pretty sure it's the other way around."
I say and I let go of the boy's arm. He quickly gets up and stands as if a general is eyeing him. I pat his back and smile warmly at him.
"Jeez kid, I won't bite."
I say and cause him to relax his shoulders, releasing tension from his body. He looks confused and starts to get a little fidgety, so I begin to explain my whereabouts.
"I'm recruiting humans from earth's realm for a dangerous and complicated mission. I figured you'd like to leave this stuffy castle and come with me."
I say and notice a huge smile spread across the boy's face, but his smile suddenly fades. "You want to recruit me for a mission?" He asks and I guess he's not a fan of fighting or dueling, which could lead to bloodshed.
I place my hand on the boy's head and lower my head to meet eye level with his dazzling opal eyes.
"Kid, you're the last person I'd decide to recruit. I just want you to come along to catch a break from magic, fighting, and especially demons."
I say and the smile reappears on the boy's face. I smile back and pat his back. I turn around so I can take my leave when I suddenly feel someone grasp my arm. "When are we leaving?" The boy asks me and I yawn lazily.
"Right now."
I respond and the boy quickly grabs a suitcase and starts packing the clothing I earlier sent Jean to give him. I chuckle at his enthusiasm and I leave the room.
I sense magic and realize the boy is flying toward me with his suitcase in hand. I lead him outside and notice the ancient stones have already been set in place as a formation of a circle. Jean and Hatter are awaiting in the center of the circle.
"I thought I told you to not interfere with my plans."
I growl at them with my menacing canine teeth. I suddenly feel movement and notice Ches shift from his invisible form. He's floating in midair in his cat transformation.
"We just wanted to wish you a safe journey." Ches says purring at the end of his explanation. Hatter steps up and places his hand on my shoulder. "Be careful, I know how much you love to start a fight." He says causing me to chuckle.
"You should know by now that the fight always comes to me."
I say and Hatter's face becomes filled with concern and sadness. "Yes, that's true. Your like a magnet for danger, but then again you always invite it. You never back down from a fight and even though you might not be able to win, you never waver from your path." Hatter pauses and gives a grim expression.
"Sometimes I wish you lived a peaceful life as our queen, Siva would handle all the politics and warfare while you could live your childhood freely, but I know better than to think that way. You will always be a warrior, you will always be stubborn, and you will always fight untill the bitter end."
Hatter tells me and I gently hug him. He puts his arms around me and I can sense his gloomy mood.
"If you ever stop being The Mad Hatter, I will personally give you nightmares."
I say and cause him instead to chuckle, lightning his mood. Ches floats down on Hatter's shoulder and bites him, causing him to let go of me. I giggle at Ches' antics.
"Please do be careful, I'm dreadfully worried." He says and I sniff at his plea.
"I think you ought to have more concern for the intruders, who knows what I might do to them."
I say and Ches, along with Hatter, tumble with laughter. Jean is the only one not smiling. He walks over to me and stares seriously at the boy.
"Don't tell me your bringing the poor boy with you? You'll get him killed!" He scolds me and I cover the boy's ears. The boy rolls his eyes and tries to ignore our antics.
"I'm just giving him a vacation, look at him, he needs one!"
I protest as I point at his bruises and dried bloodstains. Jean's expression softens and I can tell he understands. "Elizabeth, just promise me you won't die." He whispers and lowers his head. I place my hand on his shoulder and I comfort him.
"Don't worry about that, I'm already dead."
I say and cause Jean to laugh. He shakes his head and smiles at me. "Just because you can avoid death by turning into a zombie or ghost, that doesn't mean I don't have to worry. Sometimes things don't always work out like there supposed to in the end." Jean says and I nod my head in approval.
I smile one last time at him and motion the kid to follow me. I walk him to the center of the circle and I start to let magic pump in my hands. The magic swivels in the air and circulates upwardly.
It separates and touches the ancient stones. The stones vibrate and make a humming sound as I notice they've begun to light up, each with a different color.
The ground begins to shake and I can feel my legs tremble, but I hold my ground as I continue to keep my hands in the air. The boy isn't as balanced as I am and he clutches my body for support.
I sniff the air and notice smoke is rising in my nostrils. I ignore the irritation and continue to focus, the smoke gets heavier and causes the boy and I to start coughing.
Suddenly there's a jolt of light and magic engulfs everything, like wind belonging to a tornado. I shout and order the boy to close his eyes, he does what I say and I follow.
It all happens so fast, at one moment we're flying through the air and in the next we land on a cold hard surface.
I force my body off the ground as I wince from the pain, my vision is blurry, but I can see two figures beside me. I assume someone must have followed us back, a possible enemy perhaps.
As my vision clears I ready myself for an attack, claws extending from my fingers and fangs sprouting from my mouth. I charge and run toward the figures, but when I realize one of the bodies is the boy and the other is...
"Jean?!"
I jump on the concrete surface and stare wide-eyed at Jean. The boy scrambles to his feet also shocked to find Jean. I lunge at Jean and pull his collar.
"What the hell were you thinking?!"
I growl the words and Jean merely gives me a sheepish smile. "Siva would have killed me if I had let you leave without protection." He says and I let go of his collar, scowling at his excuse.
I look around and try to find where we are. I notice a couple kissing on a bench and I change out of my uniform. I rid myself of the bloody stains on my face and change into something more appropriate.
I walk toward the couple and stand in front of them. I tap the man on his shoulder and ignore his shocked expression.
"Yo, do you know where I am?"
I ask him and he stares at me in disbelief. the woman's eyes fill with terror and she stands up screaming. The terrified man follows her lead and I realize they must've been scared of my eerie voice.
I tap my finger on my chin and wonder for a second. I concentrate on the vocal chords in my throat and morph my voice back to its original form.
I let out a sigh and release any tension from my body. "Great, now I'm back to this puny voice again." I say and walk back toward Jean and the boy.
They look at me and I shake my head letting them know I didn't find anything out. "With that scary voice of yours, do you honestly think no one will run away before you can find anything out." Jean says in a rhetorical way.
I smirk at his remark and then I speak. "I know, I'm not an idiot." I say and both Jean and the boy jump with surprise. "How did you do that?" Jean asks me and I shrug my shoulders.
"I can control my insanity, what makes you think I can't control the sound of my voice?" I say and I look over Jean's head.
My eyes widen when I notice a pair of familiar friends walking toward us. I dash aside Jean and rush toward the odd pair. "Heya! Miss me?" I say and cause the red-haired girl with pigtails to jump and stare in shock.
"Elizabeth?" Ava says as she moves her green eyes to stare at my body. I freeze when I realize the last time I saw them I was in a wheelchair with a cast on my right arm, but I've already healed and no longer need the accessories anymore.
Noah glares at me coldly and grabs my right arm. "The last time we saw you, you had a cast on this arm and you were in a wheelchair, you've only been gone for a couple of weeks. During that span of time it is impossible for you to have healed so quickly, seeing as how you look perfectly healthy to me." He says and I smile sheepishly at him to show defeat.
Ava rests her small hand on her brother's and signals him to release me. He nods his head and gently let's me go. I quickly try to figure out a lie when Ava speaks first.
"I think we should take you to our home, it seems we have a lot to discuss about." She says and she nods at Jean and the boy. Noah and Ava both leads us toward their house for further explanations.
I notice were not in the city, but in the suburbs. The twins stop at a very giant house or a very small mansion, I can't tell. They lead us inside and I notice computers and screens of all shapes of sizes adorn the living room.
The house has a modern taste to it and has very little furniture. "Won't your parents be concerned about letting strangers into your home?" I asks and Ava motions us to the kitchen. She pours us beverages and hands us a tray of cookies.
The boy seems bewildered by the sweets and begins to gobble them down. "Our parents abandoned us when we were 10." Noah says behind my shoulder and I nod solemnly even though I realize Ava lied to me about having parents.
"I'm sorry." I say but Ava merely scoffs at my pity. "Please, they were abusive and horrible parents, if anything we were glad they left." She says and I smile at her strength.
"We stayed at an orphanage until we were 15. I got a job and helped raise my sister, I might have missed a lot of school, but I was autodidact and able to skip enough grades to go to college in the same year with Ava." Noah tells me more and I realize why he is rather intelligent.
I notice the boy has finished all the cookies and is happily gulping down a glass of milk. "Now let's begin with the explanations. Elizabeth, I think you should go first." Ava says and I worriedly look toward Jean.
He shrugs his shoulders and I remember the vow I made at Red's conference.
"I'm not normal."
I begin and catch both the twins' interest. "Not me, not Jean, and not the boy." I say and I cautiously watch the twins' expressions.
"We're all from a different realm, a realm where monsters and fairytale creatures coexist in a kingdom. This kingdom was originally two until both species set aside their problems to fight together against their real enemy, the demons." I say and ignore the skeptical faces of the twins.
"This enemy has a new leader. His name is Connor J. Smith and he's posing a huge threat toward the queen. It is my duty to protect the kingdoms and the queen, especially to rid her of any dangers threatening her life."
I finish and Ava bursts into laughter, which creeps the hell out of me since I've barely even seen her smile. Noah just muffles a laugh and my face heats up with embarrassment.
Jean fakes a cough and points at a beautiful purple vase holding a bouquet of lilies. I sneer at his suggestion and I grab a knife from a drawer.
Ava and Noah notice this and cautiously watch me. I lash at my arm with the blade and blood seeps through the cut, hurriedly streaming from my skin.
The twins gasp with horror and hurriedly try to find bandages. Before they can, I raise my bloody arm and call for the lilies. They hear my command and they stretch their stems toward me. The lilies entangle themselves on my arm and gently heal the wound as their stems glow.
Once they're finished they move back inside the vase. I turn around to face the gawking twins, they stare in wonder at the plant, but they're expression change when they see me lick the remaining blood from my arm.
"How did you do that?!"
Noah asks me as he examines my now healed wound. "I told you, I'm not normal." I say and Ava waves her hand in the air to silence me.
She walks over to me and stares at the plants. "Okay, I believe you, but you'll have to answer our questions this time." She says and I casually nod my head. Noah steps in and continues the conversation.
"I assume your enemy, Connor J. Smith, is human because I don't see any other reasons you'd have business here in our world." He says and I nod my head showing agreement.
Ava interrupts Noah and begins her own questions. "If you protect those kingdoms and you protect their queen, why did you go to our college?" Ava asks me and I quickly try to figure out a lie that falls into place with my plans.
"I had to blend in, like I said before I need to kill that human, but without causing any misunderstandings between the realms, and I need to recruit skillful humans that can help me do just that." I say and the twins stare at each other for a second.
"How about us?"
Noah says and I stare curiously at him. Ava realizes what her brother is doing and chips in. "We have the skills that you need. See, our parents worked for the government, so when they weren't looking we would study the files they would bring home. I learned multiple styles of combat and Noah found sensitive files that taught him computer hacking and knowledge about the government's secrets."
She says and I can't help but gawk at them. No wonder their parents abandoned them! "We have all the equipment here at our disposal, were exactly want you need." Noah finishes for Ava and I take a moment to ponder this.
"Why do you want to help?" I ask them and they both smile at each other. "We've been bored lately and this is the perfect opportunity for us." They both say at the same time and cause me to shudder.
I take another moment to think carefully about this. I could be putting my friends in grave danger and I could get them into serious trouble, but they'd be beneficial pawns to ploy with though.
"You know the dangers? You'll accept the consequences? You won't spill to the entire world about our existence?" I ask and the twins nod their heads with a serious stare.
I smirk at them and proudly honor my progress. "Then let's get started, shall we?" I say and the twins grin happily. I look over at the boy and notice his droopy eyes. I haven't really given him time to rest and neither have I.
"We'll begin after school tomorrow. I have another occasion I have to deal with tonight." I say as I ignore the pleading cries of my mind to fall on a bed and nap for days. Jean hurriedly stands up and rushes toward me.
"No you are not! You are in dire need of rest! I shall not allow it." He says and the twins stare at him in surprise. I didn't introduce them yet, so I guess they're confused about our relationships.
"Twins, this is Jean Dillard he's the queen's personal wardrobe designer. He is with me because the queen has ordered Jean to report back any progress that I have made." I say and I notice their expression become more confused.
"Shouldn't she have sent a general or butler instead?" Noah suggests and I understand his confusion. "The demons kidnapped some of her staff and she had also ordered me to retrieve them, that is what I will try to do tonight, so she sent the only staff member she could trust." I say faking another lie and pointing at Jean.
The twins both nod understandingly, but Ava stares at the boy. "What about him?" She asks me and I reply again. "During one of my missions I had rescued him from becoming a lifelong slave to the demons. I brought him along to help his health and mental state. It's just a vacation for him nothing more, nothing less." I say and Noah tilts his head a little to the side.
"What's his name?"
He asks me and I suddenly feel realization hit me. I never asked him for his name! The boy seems to notice my reaction and saves me from further embarrassment. "My name is Alexander Wilmington and I'm a sorcerer in training." He says and I widen my eyes at his reply.
He's a sorcerer in training?
"That's amazing, but who exactly is the one training you?" Noah asks the question I was meaning to ask as well. Alexander's expression suddenly saddens when he realizes his situation.
I don't assume he has parents or any family members to teach him, since he was held captive by the demons. He doesn't have anyone.
"I am!"
I say responding to Noah's question. Alexander stares at me with wide, opal eyes, but his expression is happy. I smile warmly at him and in the corner of my eye I can see Jean nodding in approval.
After everyone was introduced, the twins lead us to our rooms. Once I've made sure Jean was fast asleep, so he wouldn't interfere with my work, I walk downstairs with my uniform and markings on.
The twins walk down the stairs and stare widely at me. "Who are you?!" They shout at the same time and I chuckle at their expressions. "It's me, Elizabeth, you can't recognize me when my ancient markings are on my face, protecting my identity."
I say and they relax their shoulders as they walk down and they both grab a glass of water. "It'll take a while before we get used to this magic deal." Ava says and they both gulp down their glasses of water.
I shake my head and walk to the door. Before I open the door I turn around to face the twins. "You'll have each other to support when things become too weird for you to handle. Trust me, you'll get used to it." I say and they both nod in unison to show their agreement.
I open the door and walk out. I pass through the gates and float over the street lamps in the form of a ghost, hovering over houses and eventually finding the city.
I passed large buildings and city landscapes as I found my apartment. It doesn't look any different then what it did before the attack. I find my floor and room, passing through the walls with ease leaving my transformation.
The lights in my room are off and I slowly walk toward my door, as the doorknob slowly creaks I open the door just ajar. I peek out and notice men lying around the living room with beer in their hands.
They're laughing and having a light conversation. I swiftly slip through the door and notice all the rooms are open which makes my work easier. I don't see anyone tied up or held hostage inside any of the rooms, so I quietly sneak into the living room.
The men are watching an action movie and seem distracted, but my opportunity slips away as all the men stand up and head for the kitchen to eat pizza. I quickly transform and turn invisible as I sneak behind the counter.
I hear a buzzing noise and one of the men take out their phones to answer a call, he puts it on speaker. "Gentleman, I need report." The man on the other line says.
A man with blonde hair is the first to respond, I assume he's the leader. "The Protector hasn't return yet to save her colleges, but one of her friends keeps coming to asks questions, We assume she's getting suspicious." He says and I get an idea they're talking about Asjha.
A man with brunette hair takes a step forward. "Sir, we also have to report we haven't been able to find or track down the queen's scent. It's possible that the Protector hasn't returned because she could be protecting the queen." he finishes and takes a step backwards to his original spot.
Ha! What a bunch of suckers!
There's silence until the person on the other line responds.
"This will not suffice. If you don't find that queen before you kill the Protector, Smith's plan will not avail. We have an army of demons counting on us and if we don't fill their needs they will kill us. If you don't complete this mission I will personally feed you to the highest ranks of demons, you know they're more vicious than the rest."
He says before hanging up. The men are left to brood quietly on the matter. I see they're worried looks and I can smell their fear from here, my insanity screams at me and pleas for me to finish them off.
I let my invisible transformation fade and I slowly stand up, the men haven't notice me and I take joy of the promising cries of pain, the pleas for mercy, and finally the mocking expression I'll make to their hopeless thoughts of ever thinking they could kill me.
"Hello! I hope I haven't been causing you nice gentleman any troubles, have I?" I say giggling like my little sister used to do.
It was so irritating.
The men taken by surprise, give me the perfect opportunity to attack. I lunge myself at them and swing my arm forcefully in the air. Fire springs out of my hand and engulfs the men's clothing.
They scatter and scream with agony and fear, obviously causing me to sneer at their antics. "Boys! I hear that you're trying to kill me so you can get your filthy, perverted hands on my queen. Care to explain or will I have to beat the truth out of you?!" I say as I grab their leader by his hair and punch his face with my knee, when I slam him against a wall he falls unconscious and blood streams down his nose.
A team without a leader is only rendered vulnerable and useless, one of the many facts on warfare.
"Anyone else?" I say and the men pull guns from their pockets. I scowl with annoyance as I turn my skin to metal. I turn myself into a cyborg and the bullets they fire quickly bounce off me.
I laugh at their attempts and I raise my arm to fire a blast from the weapons wired inside of me. The technology works splendidly and sends electricity pumping through the remaining members, each twitching from the electrical spasms that work through their bodies.
I walk closer toward the men and let my body transmogrify into my wolfen form. Claws and fangs sprout into place and my vocals become deeper with every growl I let out. My eyes glow a sinister yellow and the men can see my power, trembling with fear.
"Answer the question."
I say and they gawk at me with incredulous eyes mixed with horror.
I'm loving every minute of this.
"We had orders to kill you so our boss could carry out his mission without any distractions. The boss needs the queen as bait to draw in the inhabitants of her kingdom, he wants to turn the civilians into super soldiers to take over the world."
The same brunette man says with a crackling voice. My eyes widen and I realize the situation has become deadlier than I expected. I grab the man's collar and nudge him closer to me. I growl with vicious yellow eyes and sharp fangs.
"So why are the demons involved?" I ask as my voice fades back to its original sound, insanity leaving my throat in the process. "The boss promised to give them half of what he conquered, only if the demons would focus on capturing the queen and give protection to our scientists, when they would handle the monsters or fairytale creatures."
He says and I lose my temper.
I snarl and bite his finger off, the man bellows with agony and horror as I merely spit the finger out. "How did you find me?" I ask one of the other lesser humans. A man with red hair speaks first out of fear.
"One of our spies was able to discover you, his name is Kalis Manson."
He says and I suddenly lose my balance. Anger swells up inside me and my killer instincts cause me to howl with murder in my voice. I storm around the room braking vases and pictures framing up the walls.
I scream with irritation and frustration as I slam a chair on the counter, splitting the wood in pieces. I pant heavily and I slowly turn to face the men, I notice their stunned expressions and I quickly compose myself.
"I feel better now."
I say and walk again toward the men, grabbing a gun and reloading the barrel. "Now! Either you tell me where your boss is or I'm going to have to blasts holes into your tiny, pathetic excuses of brains." I say with menacing eyes staring at the men.
I'm holding the gun with one hand and watching the men's movements. At first I see them cower with fear, but my nerves unsettle me when suddenly the expressions of the men begin to relax. I hurriedly twist my head around to find a woman standing behind me holding two guns in each hand.
I can tell she's taller than me and much prettier. She has long blonde hair that's styled into a fishtail braid falling on her shoulder. She's wearing leather pants with a black corset-style top, completely exposing her giant breasts. Her legs wear red stilettos and her face has gothic make-up.
"What? Like something you see?" She says in a smooth, seductive whisper.
I sneer at her ridiculous comment and I throw the gun on the floor showing the woman I want a hand-to-hand combat. "No, but I'd prefer to see you in a body bag instead of that slutty get-up." I say in a threatening voice and the woman reacts by throwing both her guns on the floor with a frown plastered on her face."What? Giving up already? Or would you happen to have another appointment at a stripper club?" I comment and the woman lunges herself toward me with a face filled with murder. She aims a large amount of punches toward my body, but I easily dodge them aside.
I slam her face with incredible strength on the floor and I press my foot on her head to keep her from moving. "A pretty face doesn't win a battle, or anything for that matter, just letting that out there." I taunt the woman, but her face begins to heat up with rage.
She pulls my foot and drags me on the floor like a rag doll. I do a head-stand and kick her several times, but she misses with ease. I land on my feet and ready myself for another attack when I feel a cold, hard surface slams into my head.
I fall on the ground and notice the leader has woken up, holding the gun I assume he hit me with, and his team is alongside him ready to inflict damage on me too. I glance at the woman and notice her smirk at my vulnerable state.
This infuriates me and my wild instincts kick into place. I swiftly rise off the floor and stand in between of the men and the woman, glaring at both sides with a fake, sweet smile.
"Okay, now I'm annoyed."
My voice echoes through the room as the team hears my astonishing voice again. The woman stares at me with her jaw opened, but she composes herself and barks an order to the men. "Leave! I want her all to myself!" She roars and the men quickly gather their things and hurry to run.
I try to stop them, but I suddenly feel a bullet rip through my shoulder, blood spattering everywhere from the impact. I scream and clutch my shoulder as I turn around to face the woman holding her guns once again.
She has a mocking smile that enrages me even more. I dash toward her and she continues to fire ammo at me, sliding past the rain of bullets I lash at her arm with a blade from the floor.
A deep gash forms in her skin and blood streams down from the wound, she ignores the pain and grabs a switch-blade from the inside of her stiletto. She lashes at me and I quickly avoid the attacks, but eventually she hits me and blood gushes from my cheek where she had severed.
I too ignore the pain and tighten my hands into fists, punching the woman when she's open and kicking her head with my knee. Blood begins to soak into her beautiful blonde hair, but she continues to fight and lunge at me.
I want to use my abilities so desperately, but if I do I'll feel like I've lost. If I can't defeat this mere woman with my skill I'd feel pretty pathetic that I could only beat her with my powers, It's like admitting that she's a worthy opponent or admitting that I'm useless without my powers.
Either way I have to win.
"What's wrong? Am I too much for you, hon?" She asks in a mocking tone as she puts me into a headlock. I roll my eyes and a sigh of irritation escapes my mouth.
"Does it look like I've lost already, you idiot?"
I ask and bite down with my teeth on her arm. She howls with pain as blood bursts out of the skin. I kick at her belly and send her slamming against a wall. She quickly gets up and grabs one of her guns, firing bullets at me.
Some of the metal makes contact with my skin and bloody holes form on my body. I fall on the ground and sluggishly rise again.
"Ah! This is going to take a while..."
I complain to myself as more bullets rip my skin to pieces, but I stand up and fight anyway.
