Chapter 16: Pawns, Not Lovers

Hordes of demons rush towards me in organized troops. I stand in the same spot and I sluggishly smile at their expressions.

The demons raise their weapons and prepare to fight. I merely laugh at their determination and whistle as I nod at a tree.

The demons are reluctant and confused at first, but when they feel an incredible impact hit them, they're on high alert.

"I honestly don't care how aware they are of me, I'll I want them to know is that there going to die and I'm probably going to pay someone to piss on their graves! Hahaha!"

I notice a disgusted look on the demons' faces and I take a moment to think. I place my thumb on my chin and stare nonchalantly at them.

"Oops! Did I say that out loud?!"

I say faking a guilty face. I race toward them and call for the tree that hit them earlier. The tree lifts itself off the ground and attacks the demons.

They fight back, hitting and stabbing the tree. I let magic flow through my hands and I create a protective circle around the tree.

Distracted by the enormous tree, I raise my wings and fly upwards. I float in midair with my wings flapping rapidly and I take a look around. I wonder in the air as I check the demons.

I lay down on a branch and lazily watch their failed attempts.

This is boring.

I think to myself and I slowly command other plants and trees. They come to the scene and I point them toward the demons. They listen and thrash themselves at my foes.

They rip and shred the demons to pieces. I fuel the green soldiers with magic and make them twice as effective.

I yawn and stretch my body lazily as if I was a cat. I start to snooze off when I hear a loud roar.

With my experience of warfare I assume the new demon entering the scene is some kind general.

"Oh goodie, the entourage."

I say with my wicked tongue and the demons freeze as they hear my threatening voice. The demon general looks at his fallen soldiers and looks back at me.

"Don't look at me, I was just minding my business."

I say as I kick my foot backwards as it hangs from the branch I'm laying on. The demon general's face heats up and he glares at me. I laugh it off and hop on the ground. The demon barks a command and his soldiers run to attack me.

I want to see their blood drip on my cold hands, I want to smell their fear, I want to rip their skin right off their bones, I want to hear their miserable cries of pain and mercy, and I want to taste their ridiculously delicious flesh!

I curl my fingers and jump in the air to send a wave of icicles toward the demons. The icicles puncture their eyes and skin, causing me tremendous amounts of joy.

I flap my wings and fly head-first towards bellowing demons. I raise my arms and hurl fire at them, they shriek and howl with pain. I enjoy their cries of torment and marvel at the scene.

The demon general, incredulous of my power, stands in shock. I fly straight towards him and lower my head intending to stab my horns through his body.

I'm knocked to the side by a great invisible force and hit a large tree, crushing the bones on my right side. I laugh at the pain and stand on my feet again.

I see a boy around the age of 13 stand near me and stare at my bruised body. He's wearing a traditional sorcerer's uniform and a hood is covering his face.

He sniffs the air and I watch his face twitched with recognition. He looks at me with confused, cautious eyes and I merely scoff at his concern. He might know I'm the Protector, but that's not going to stop my bloodshed.

I let magic flow through my veins and engulf my hands with dark purple flames. I let the shadows devour me and I transform myself and become a reaper. The flames form a scythe in my hand and most of my body becomes translucent, showing my bones through my skin.

My cape turns a freighting black color and my teeth sharpen, every tooth turning into a fang. I've become the vision of death, the vision of the Grim Reaper.

I smirked with delight and insanity as I swung my scythe at the boy. He jumps backwards and let's out a yelp of fright. I can smell his fear and with every whiff of it my hunger intensifies more and more.

"Be a good boy and hold still!"

I scream and lash at the boy's attacks. His face switches from horrified and cowardly, to more determined and strict.

"Awe! Summoning your courage, are we?"

I coo at his sudden facial expression. He lets out a magic blast and aims it at my face. I tilt my head, missing the attack, and stick my tongue out at him. I raise my scythe above my head and arch my body for support.

I twirl it in the air and send it flying at the boy. It hits his leg and fatally cuts it in half. He clutches his bloody leg and uses magic to repair it, clenching his teeth to stop himself from screaming. I admire his strong will.

"Too bad it bores me."

I whisper as I dash at his vulnerable body and grab my scythe off the ground. I aim once more at the boy, but this time I'll make sure that this hit will put him directly to sleep, permanently. I raise my scythe and ready myself to finish him off when I feel a striking pain on my shoulder.

I clench my teeth and glare at the figure behind me. A demon has his claws digging holes in my stomach as he tightly holds me, so he can continue to munch on my skin. I start feeling dizzy and drowsy once he removes his teeth from my shoulder.

Blood drips on my arm and I look again at the kid. He's not smiling in victory, punching his fist in the air like any comical villain would, he's just breathing with relief.

"Fascinating."

I say and laugh at the hilarious outcome.

I start to see black splotches everywhere and I feel myself lose consciousness.

~

I quiver and tremble from a cold sensation on my hot skin. I open my heavy eyelids and stare at the scene. I'm chained up on the wall and I notice a sleeping figure near me.

There are weapons of torment scattered across a table and more on the wall across from mine. I guess I'm in a torture room of some kind.

My head is pounding and I'm having a hard time breathing since half my ribs broke during the fight. The figure sleeping near me seems familiar. With my newfound insanity I don't even try to remember.

I turn my gaze toward my body and notice my reaper form must have faded because I'm in my human state. I also notice I'm wearing a skimpy nightgown instead of my traditional uniform.

My gag reflects kick in after witnessing the gown and realizing I'm not wearing any underwear. The sleeping figure starts to awaken and throws the covers off the bed.

His left cheek has a large, deep scar and I see he has black, messy short hair along with beautiful opal eyes. Then I notice the scar on his leg and chuckle at the memory.

"Yo! Pretty boy, having a hard time walking lately?"

I say and shock the boy. His expression darkens and glares at me. I shrug my shoulders and smirk at his reaction. "Shut the hell up! I don't want to hear your taunting remarks!" He says fiercely and I purr at his reply.

"Oh? Is that so? Okay, well what are you going to do if I ignore your whining instead?"

I challenge him and he stands up with anger, but even with his leg magically sewed back on, he loses his balance from the pain. I laugh uncontrollably as I watch his stupid attempt. His face heats up with embarrassment and he looks hurt. I sneer at his ridiculous reaction and reply with heartless words.

"Are you seriously going to cry about an injured leg? What are you? Three?! I honestly thought, since you work with demons, you'd be a little more ruthless! Seems I shouldn't have thought so highly of some abandoned brat."

I say and cause the boy to clench his teeth and tighten his fists. The boy seems to tremble with anger. I laugh at his pathetic reaction. "I never decided to work with the demons, so your right about one thing, I'm abandoned, but you had no right to assume that I have become ruthless because of those beasts!" He says trying to prove himself and I merely scoff at his response.

"A shame really, it could have made you useful."

I say trying to wiggle out of the chains that hook me to the wall. The boy's eyes widen at my response and he shakes his head baffled at my expression. "What do you mean useful?!" He says in a voice that seems quite demanding.

I twirl my head and pretend to ponder the question.

"Sometimes it's better not to feel pity, it can cloud your judgement and make you commit grave mistakes during your lifetime."

I bluntly say with a casual, sangfroid expression. The boy takes a moment to think about my advice. "Is that why you didn't think twice about cutting my leg off?" He ask and I nod my head. His eyes grow sad and he lowers his head.

"You were just another opponent that stood in my way. If I went easy on you because I pitied you, you would have taken that advantage and would have killed me without hesitation. All because I was also just another opponent that stood in your way",

I say and sneer at his guilty face.

"Am I wrong?"

I ask and the boy shakes his head slowly, accepting his shame of my truth. The moment we start to have an awkward silence a demon struts into the room. The boy composes himself out of fear and sits quietly. The demon walks up to me and examines my body. He nods in approval and I smirk at his expression.

"Perverted, ugly, two-faced, lonely, good-for-nothing, demon!"

I say and start laughing with insanity. The demon growls with fury and grabs a weapon from the nearby table. He's about to attack me when he hears a command from the other side of the room. The demon drops the weapon and scurries away in fear. I merely laugh at his cowardice.

The demon who gave the command walked up to me and now he's examining my body as well. The demon is gorgeous. He's tall, slender, well-built, and his skin is as pale as snow. His eyes are a vibrant and dazzling blue, his hair is an inky black and he has chin length bangs. He's wearing a dark, business suit with white gloves and a tie.

I close my eyes and try to not focus on his beauty because if I do, I'll either blush or show weakness if he catches me drooling. He notices and chuckles lightly at my antics.

"Oh? Why have you shut your eyes? The enchanting, alluring purple shade shouldn't stay hidden, it should be adored by all who witness the color." He says with a powerful, seducing voice that compels me to gently open my eyes for him.

My face grows serious as I stare at the demon.

"Well? Are you going to kill me or should I go first, either way I'll win."

I say and the demon chuckles once more as he shakes his head. "You don't have to worry about that. I do not wish to torment you or harm you in any way possible, neither emotionally, psychically, nor mentally." He says and he causes me to let my jaw drop open.

I gawk at the demon's kind eyes and laugh bitterly.

"Haha, oh that's funny! Your joking right?!"

I say and the demon merely shakes his head.

"What the hell is wrong with you?! This is wrong on so many levels! Your not supposed to act gentle, or pleasant, or or..!"

I say, but I start to stutter at the end when the demon suddenly interrupts me.

"Or passionate?"

He finishes for me, but stuns me since I wasn't intending to say that last part.

"Passionate?!"

My insanity kicks in and my stunned expression turns dark and out of know where, I start laughing uncontrollably. I practically cry a river of tears from all my laughter. My laughs suddenly morph into screams of anger and I start shouting gibberish. I finish my screams and pant from all the energy I put in them.

I take a look at the demon and notice his smile hasn't faded. "Do you feel better now, love?" He ask and I sarcastically reply,

"Yeah, sure."

The demon perks up. He barks another command and a group of female servants rush into the room. "Please have my Black Rose changed into something more appropriate for dinner." My face drops and I scream my ass off.

"What the hell did you just call me?! Since when did I permit pet names?!"

I say moving my body back and forth in a form of a tantrum. The demon ignores my complaints and walks out of the room. The servants unchained me from the wall and rushed me out of the room where the boy remained quite during my quarrel with the demon.

He also watched my failed attempts to pry the servants off me.

The women take me to a dressing room and since I was just wearing a nightgown they didn't have much trouble undressing me.

Yay me.

I think to myself as I watch the women lay frilly dresses on a counter. I stream my eyes through the dresses and one by one I reject them all. The women seem annoyed by my demanding orders, but they endure me.

They show me racks full of other dresses, but I reject them all too.

"If this demon thinks he can just kidnap me and expect me to waltz around with his preferred dresses, he's as insane as I am!"

I growl and set every dress on fire. The women scream and run out of the room. I stand in the middle of the room naked and close the door with a wave of my hand.

"So? Demon lord wants me to wear something appropriate, eh?"

I say as I rub my hands together in a comical way. I laugh with joy and use magic to design my dress. It's a black and purple embroidered, asymmetrical gothic dress that goes all the up to my knees and ties all the way up to my neck.

My right hand, which has mostly healed from the large amount of magic I keep pumping into, wears a finger-less, string-tied glove. My make-up is light since my face would look gaudy with my markings all over my face. I'm also wearing fancy combat boots.

I hear footsteps approaching the door and my instincts kick in. I rush to the back of the door and silently hide in the shadow. The figure opens the door and the moment the person steps into range, I pounce.

I push the figure down on the floor and tangle my body over their's and pin the person down hard. "I'm flattered by the sudden intimacy, but don't you think it's a little inappropriate at the moment?" I gasp and realize it's the same demon who sent me to get changed.

I growl in his ear and I let out a vile curse as I get off him. He swiftly stands up and when he notices me, he stares in silence. I grin awaiting his disapproving response. The demon walks over to me and caresses my cheek.

"Such beauty, I wouldn't expect anything less from my darling Black Rose." He says whispering in my ear. I fake a gag and slap his hand away, not satisfied with his reaction. I turn and face him, so I can ask a question that's been on my mind.

"What did you mean by passionate?"

I ask him with flames rising in my hands. He looks at me with a sweet smile and puts his large hands on my slim waist. He lowers his head and I can feel his lips next to my ear. "It seems I have fallen in love with you." His husky voice turns me on, but I immediately swat the feeling away to then laugh in his face.

My laughter confuses the demon, but his reaction doesn't stop me from shoving his body away and continuing to laugh hysterically.

I stop laughing and glare at the floor as I summon my next attempt to try to pry answers from the demon.

Slithering plants roam toward the demon like venomous snakes and I provoke them to grab and slam him backwards against a wall. He doesn't look shaken up, but that doesn't stop me from wanting to cause more damage. I grab his collar and pull him forcefully towards me.

"If you think I'm going to fall for that crap, you're the most dimwitted demon I've ever met."

I tell him with a horrid voice that means business.

"Demons crave power, my love. That shouldn't be a surprise." His elegant demeanor begins to irritate me and I scowl from his response.

"Tell me the truth or I'll have to torture it out of you."

Losing every bit of patience I had left, I begin to threaten the demon as a last resolve.

The demon grins at my impatience and I raise an eyebrow to hurry up his response.

"You defeated my military and embarrassed my men. You possessed great power as you transformed into legendary monsters, you wielded the face of death and controlled nature", As the demon pauses I loosen my grip on his collar while I listen carefully at the rest of his explanation.

"I can sense that power running through your veins, I can smell it in your blood, and I can see it in your eyes. Such power seduces me and I crave to have you as mine and mine all alone." He says with passion burning in his eyes. I release the vines out of frustration and the demon drops elegantly onto the floor.

"Listen up handsome, sure your cute and all, but I'm not going to belong to you as a possession nor lover just because you say so. You want me? Your going to spend an eternity trying to win me over. Got it?!"

I scream with insanity edging in my voice. I stomp out the door and leave the demon gawking in the room. I've had enough with men and their stupid antics! I find an empty room and notice my uniform laying on the bed sheets.

I step into the lonely room and lock myself in after slamming the door shut. I throw myself on the plush bed and cover my face with a pillow. My insanity is making my heart pump and thrash in my chest rapidly.

I want to cry my eyes out. I feel horrible and sick. I hate that demon for making me feel this way.

"He's faking his love, I know he is. He wants power and the only way he can get it, is by winning me over. So, why do I feel guilty about the way I treated him?!"

A single tear trickles down my face. I find a hand mirror on a nearby desk and I grab it. I lift the mirror up to my face and I see a single tear hang on my chin. I look at my eyes and notice more tears forming in the corners of my eyes.

This is the first time I've cried over a man before.

I stare in awe as I watch more and more tears stream down my cheeks. I shut my eyes and tremble.

Not from sadness, but from anger.

I clench my teeth and force the tears to stop, but when memories of Kalis and Leo flood my mind, my tears rage on. I clutch my head and breathe through rigid breaths. I'm about to shout with misery when I feel a jolt of insanity shock me.

"What are you doing?"

I grab the mirror again and swiftly lift it to see my face. My eyes are bloodshot and I've started to hiccup a little.

"Pathetic."

I say the words as if they were mine, but they're not. I'm no longer in control of my words.

"You're the Protector of your kingdoms, you're the goddamn queen too! How can you be so childish?! You have more important matters at hand! The last thing you need concern of is men, all they are is time-consuming distractions."

My lips finally finish moving and I regain control of my words. I can't believe my insanity put me in check! I stare at my reflection and notice my tears are still streaming down my face.

My face darkens and I grow serious. My skin flames up and as the tears touch my skin, they evaporate and disappear. I compose and straighten myself up.

I have been acting like child, I've been worried about Kalis and Leo. I hanged out with them both only for a while, but that doesn't imply I have feelings for them.

The Mad Hatter said I would eventually realize my feelings, and I have.

Kalis, Leo, and especially the demon, mean nothing to me.

They're just pawns in my horrid game of survival.

I rise off my bed and walk over to the doorknob. I open the door and sniff the air with my canine nose. I smell food and I follow it all the way to the dining hall. As I arrive at a large dining table I see the demon eating alone. I also notice there's an empty seat already served for.

"I didn't think you would show up." The demon says casually and I stare at him for a moment, then I lower my head.

"Of course I came, I was hungry, don't be an idiot."

I say as I sit down on the chair and begin eating my dinner. We both eat silently before I begin to speak.

"I'm sorry about the way I acted earlier. It's not everyday a demon claims his love for me, especially when they spend most of their time trying to kill me."

I say as I bite down on a juicy stake. The demon laughs at my comment and his smile reappears. "Naturally, you wouldn't have had much confidence in me to begin with. I am a demon and my kind wishes to see your downfall. I should be the one to apologize, since I came on too strong." He says as he finishes his plate.

He stands up and walks over to me. I practically skip chewing as I gulp down my food. "I just love your appetite." He says sarcastically as he watches me. I assume it's an insult, but when I glance at his face he's smiling.

"I haven't eaten for days, I'm pretty much dying."

I say and cause the demon to laugh. He sits down beside me and places his hand on top of my head. He plays with my black strands of hair. I ignore him as I'm more concentrated on eating.

After a moment later, I finally finish my plate. I lay backwards on the chair and breathe a sigh of satisfaction. "If your still hungry I can call for dessert." The demon asks me but I shake my head. I turn my body so I can face him and then I speak.

"Who are you?"

I ask making him react with an apologetic expression. "Pardon my rudeness, my name is Evan Aristide, Demon Master." He says and I try to ignore the last part.

"You know I'm the Protector so I assume I don't need an introduction."

I say expecting Evan to agree with me but his expression is sad. He cups my cheek with his hand and he leans in closer to whisper in my ear. "You don't trust your lover enough to tell him your real name?" He asks and I scoff at his reply as I slap his hand away.

"You have to earn it first."

I say as he puts his arms around my waist. He picks me up and cradles me in his arms. He walks me over through the halls and leads me to a large, spacious room.

"Why did you bring me here?"

I ask and his kind expression fades. His blue eyes glow a dark red and his face darkens. "I will have you, mind, body, and soul." After hearing his reply, Evan roughly throws me on the bed. I know exactly what he wants to do with me after that.

I try to run, but he pins me down with his large hands. He breathes on my neck as he caresses my thighs.

"Your making a big mistake."

Ignoring my warning, Evan rips the gothic dress off my body. He begins to lick my neck and plants kisses on my sweet spot. I let out a moan as he messages my breasts.

"Oh Evan, more."

I say and he chuckles with delight. I morph my voice into a siren's.

"Evan, why are the demons looking for the queen in the human realm?"

I ask as I put my arms around his neck and kiss him. "One of our spies found her and we had to kidnap her alive for our leader." He says between kisses. I smirk and before I can allow him to go any further with my body, I ask one more important question.

"Who's your leader?"

I ask and he starts to caress my waist. "Connor J. Smith, a human businessman." He says and I push Evan on the bed. I let a plant slip through my neck and it passes it's abilities to me. I kiss Evan once more and I let out a poisonous gas from my mouth.

Evan's eyelids start to close as he let's go of my mouth. He falls on the bed unconscious. I rush off the bed and summon my uniform. It flies in front of me and covers my underwear.

I dash through the halls and as I turn a corner I bump into someone. We both hurriedly get up and prepare ourselves to duel. I look up and notice it's the same boy from the torture room. "What the hell are you doing here?!" He shrieks, but I smack my hand over his mouth and pull him into a corner.

He muffles words under my hand, but I quietly shush him as two curious guards walk past us. I let go of his hand and he eyes me suspiciously. "How did you know they were coming?" He asks and I grab his arm as I drag him with me.

"I'm the Protector, I can do a lot of things."

I say with a bragging smirk on my face. He looks confused and troubled when I rush him outside. "What are you doing?! We can't leave, they'll kill us!" He says trying to haul me back inside.

I clutch his collar and pull his face in front of me.

"Who cares! Someone is always trying to kill me, what difference does it make now?!"

I say as I pull him into the forest. I jump over dead trees and duck under low branches, the boy isn't so agile. He's completely bruised his entire body by now. "I can't leave! Take me back!" He says as he pulls on my arm.

I slam his body against a tree and snakes slither all over his body, trapping him. "Please! I don't want to die!" He says staring seriously at me. I grin a devilish smile and let a snake entangle itself on my wrist as it hisses at the boy violently.

"Then you'll have to obey me. The demons are no match for me so you don't have to worry about them, although if you keep blubbering like a baby I'm going to kill you right here on the spot."

I say as I let the snake on my wrist wiggle around the boy's neck. He lets out a shriek as the snake's fangs rub against his skin. He nods his head fiercely and I let the snakes loose. I run ahead and the boy follows right behind me listening to my threat.

I can hear Evan's loud roars coming from his mansion and I can't help but laugh at whatever expression he's making. About 30 demons rush to find us in the forest, but I'm too clever for their hopeless attempts.

I find a cave and drag the boy with me inside. I grip his hand and I close my eyes shut. "What's wrong? Are you scared?" The boy asks me, but I scoff at his remark, causing him to make a confused expression. I call on the shadows and I focus on the darkness. My body fuses with the shadows and I become apart of the dark void.

"Where did you go?!" The boy asks me trembling with fear.

"I've hidden my body in the shadows, I can do the same with you, but you'll have to keep your eyes closed or otherwise the demons will see you."

I say and the boy automatically follows my orders. I smirk at his obedience. I let the shadows crawl on my arms and make contact with the boy. The shadows engulf his body and he follows my orders as he closes his eyes.

I hear demons rush inside the cave with torches in their hands. I quietly mutter a spell that masked both of our scents. The demons prowl the cave, but I hear them leave after a while of searching. I can hear the boy gasps for air, I assume he must have held his breath so the demons wouldn't hear his panting.

He's not the most courageous person I've ever met but he is careful. "Can we leave? Is it safe?" He asks me and he tries to stand up.

"No, were going to use the shadows as transportation and arrive at the Red Queen's castle. I'm not taking any chances with you with me, not when there's so many demons outside hunting us."

I say and open my eyes. The shadows leave my body and I notice the boy had opened his eyes too. He's gawking at me with an expression mixed with fear and amazement. "How the hell are we supposed to use the shadows as transportation?" He asks me and I grin from ear to ear.

"Let's just say the Boogeyman and I are the best of friends, he's always sharing his tricks with me."

I say and cause the boy to stare at me with wide, horror-struck eyes. I'm enjoying this! I grab his hand again and I lunge myself back into the shadows. The boy sighs with frustration and he reluctantly closes his eyes, following my lead.

I feel completely weightless as I move in the shadows. When you take a walk in these shadows, you can decide your speed. This is how the boogeyman has such ease as he chases his victims around.

Sure, people see him as a bad guy, but in reality he's just doing what's necessary. He feeds on children's fears, how is it his fault he can only feast that way?

I walk leisurely in the shadows, still holding the boy's hand as I guide ourselves to the Red Queen's castle. I can sense our bodies walk away from the forest. I quicken my pace and speed my way to the castle. My legs seem to float in midair as I calmly race towards the castle.

As we pass by I hear people's voices and I can't help but feel like a ghost, since I'm passing all these people without any of them noticing. We finally arrive at the castle and I use the shadows to haul the boy and I up the castle's walls.

I find my room and I casually step inside. I open my eyes and see a worried Jean pacing back and forth in my room. He hears movement and his head turns toward me. His eyes bulge and he leaps to hug me. "Where have you been?!" He asks with a scary voice that startles the boy.

"Solving important issues at hand.

I say and I startle Jean in return. My eerie, insanity-filled voice must have frighten him. He steps away from me in fear and I take the chance to walk out of the room. Jean and the boy follow me as they try to keep up. "What is the meaning of this?!" Jean asks me with complete concern in his voice.

"Jean, give the boy a room and make sure he is given the upmost hospitality, when your done you can find me in Red's conference room."

I say as I turn a corner and hide myself in the shadows to prevent Jean from continuing his objections. I swiftly arrive at Red's bedroom and pound on her door, not the least bit concerned of her beauty sleep.

Red rushes to open the door and her eyes widen with shock as she stares incredulously at me. "Elizabeth?!" She screams rhetorically at me and lunges herself at my body for a massive hug.

"Where have you been? Jean and I were worried sick that something happened to you!" She ask me as she grips my shoulders. I remove myself from her embrace and stare at her nonchalantly.

"Moving on to more important matters at hand, I wish to see you in your conference room for further discussions, please do hurry."

I say then I walk away leaving a stunned Red still standing next to her door, watching me with fear in her eyes. I arrive at the conference room and sit in front of the table. Jean and Red step in and sit opposite of me.

To my surprise, I also see Hatter and Ches walk in and take a seat next to Red and Jean. I rise from my seat and grab a white board from the corner along with a marker. "Elizabeth, could you please tell us what happened to you?!" Jean is the first one to shout and I raise my head to stare him down.

"I went into demon territory and during my visit I gathered useful information about our enemies."

After hearing my horrid, morphed voice everyone in the room gawks at me with shocking expressions. Hatter is the first one to stand up in his seat with rage in his eyes. "What's the matter with your voice?! More importantly, what's wrong with you? You seem different..."

The Hatter asks me and he seems to tremble with worry from awaiting my response. I start playing with the black marker in my hands as I reply to Hatter.

"Why, of all people you should be the one to know. I've controlled my insanity, we've come to good terms and now we gladly work together. Sure, I'll have to adapt to my new abilities, but I'll suffice."

I say as I handle the marker and draw an exact diagram of Evan's territory. I can hear Hatter's raspy breaths filled with fear, all the way from where I'm standing. I smirk at his reaction.

"I've found out that the demons are working for a human. His name is Connor J. Smith, I don't know what his occupation is or where I can find him, but I know he's the one behind all the attacks organized on me."

I finish as I complete the diagram of Evan's territory. "How did you get this information? How do you know it's true?" Ches says after moving his body to the windowsill to lay more comforting.

"Apparently the demon master of this territory.."

I say pointing to a mansion in the midst of the territory.

"Was attracted to me and desired to make love to me by force. Of course, I didn't allow that, but I pretended long enough for him to think I was on board with the idea. I pretended long enough to gain the info, but I poisoned him and put him to sleep, making a swift getaway."

I say and Jean stands up from his seat and looks at me furiously. "Did he rob you of your innocence, Elizabeth?!" He asks me but I merely sneer at the idea.

"Please, he was just a pawn with useful data, nothing happened."

I say and I move on with my plan. I need to get back home, I need to find this Connor J. Smith and kill him before he becomes a problem, I can't let matters become chaotic anymore.
