𝗔𝗡 𝗨𝗡𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗬 𝗙𝗘𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗚 had set in Drusilla's stomach as they walked into Max's house. The celebration in her had subsided and she couldn't shake how easy that was. Not wanting to bring the mood down she kept her thoughts to herself chalking it up to paranoia.
"Mom? Dad?" Max called out into his house.
"We got a new cat!" Dani said happily holding Binx in her arms. The two siblings went unanswered and Max shrugged.
"Well, I guess they're still out partying, come on in," He told Drusilla and Allison.
Allison happily followed Dani upstairs and Drusilla scrunched her eyebrows wondering how his parents would still be out at three am. The party was supposed to end before that. She wondered if her parents were still out.
"Dru? You coming?" Max asked shaking the girl out of her thoughts from the bottom of the steps. Seeing the worried look on the girl's face he sighed. "Just stay for like an hour,"
Drusilla sighed caving as she nodded following him up the stairs and to his room, reminding herself it was only going to be for an hour. As they entered Max's room she couldn't help but look around, thinking about how the room really fit him.
Dani was comfortably on his bed stroking Binx as he drank a bowl of milk on the floor. Allison had taken the comfy beanbag chair that sat at the foot of Max's bed so Drusilla followed Max sitting next to him on the steps to the crow's nest.
Max turned to her handing her a blanket and she smiled. Dani smiled down at Binx. "You're my kitty now. You'll have milk and tuna fish every day and you'll only hunt mice for fun."
The cat stopped his drinking to look up at the girl. "You're going to turn me into one of those fat, useless, contented house cats,"
Dani giggled. "You betcha,"
Drusilla couldn't help but smile at the two her eyes drifting to Allison who was already drifting off. She let her eyes look over to Max who was already looking at her, the paranoid thoughts in her head silenced as they smiled at each other.
Drusilla quickly realized how tired she was from tonight, now being able to sit and rest she could feel herself relaxing and her eyes getting heavy. A yawn escaped her lips as she closed her eyes listening to Dani drift off to sleep. The thought of only staying for an hour out of her head as she quickly let sleep overtake her.

𝗗𝗥𝗨𝗦𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗔 𝗙𝗘𝗟𝗧 𝗦𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗚 move under her and her eyes flutter open as she looks around realizing she's still in Max's room. Whatever is under her groans and she looks up to see she had fallen asleep on Max's lap. She quickly sits up moving off of him as his arm that was wrapped around her falls.
"Sorry, I must've dozed off," She quickly says to the boy, who was also now fully awake.
Max smiles at her and shrugs, "It's fine," He mumbles dorky smile still plastered on his face. Not sure of how either of them got here but not mad at his newfound feelings for the girl in front of him. She had interested him from the get-go, truly.
His playful banter and teasing had meshed into flirty as his sight set more on her as the night went on. He had really looked at her and he didn't plan on looking away anytime soon.
Drusilla feeling hot under his gaze looked around the room, her eyes searching for anything else. They landed on the clock next to them and she gasped. "Shit, it's five o'clock, I have to go," She began getting up looking for her shoes before she woke up Allison.
"Wish you could stay," Max absent-mindedly said. Drusilla looked up from tying her shoes, her mind racing at Max's bold comment.
She lets out a laugh before once again looking around to room for anything else to mention. "Poor Binx," She says fully standing again and looking at the cat asleep in Dani's arms.
Something about the Sanderson's being dead and him still being trapped didn't seem right to her. Her heart ached for him and his desire to be back with his family.
Max nodded agreeing with the girl, "Yeah, poor Binx. We owe him a lot." He paused for a second thinking. The Grimm family being as into the witches as they were made him ask this next question. "Look, can we find some kind of way to help him?"
Drusilla thought for a second, with everything that had happened tonight there had to be some way. Her eyes flickered to the book behind Max for a second but she said nothing. The thing still gave her the creeps. Max however caught her look and turned to look at the spellbook.
"You think there's something in that book?" He asked the girl.
"I mean they used it to put the spell on him maybe there's something to take it off ..." She trailed off not completely comfortable with the idea. Max however grabbed the book. Drusilla set her eyes on Binx again frowning at his state and knowing they owed him some help so she pushed the uneasy feeling aside as she sat down beside him.
Drusilla sighed staring down at the book in Max's lap. "He did tell us not to open it though," She reminded the boy.
"It'll be quick, plus the witches are dead. I just wanna help him," Max sighed looking down at the girl. The signature puppy eyes came out and Drusilla rolled her eyes playfully.
"Fine, just really quick," She said and Max smiled. With one last look at Binx, Max began to unlock the book.
He flipped open the cover and instead of the rush on anxiety Drusilla expected she was almost entranced by the book. "See, not that scary," Max teased.
Drusilla pushed his shoulder playfully before the two went back to flipping through the book. The pages were filled with spells of all kinds as the teens searched for anything to help their friends.
Drusilla's eyes landed on a passage as she began to read out loud. "Only a circle of salt can protect thy victims from thy power," She hummed interested in the fact. "So my mom pouring salt isn't just something strange she does," She commented with a laugh at the proof in front of her.
Max laughed lightly and the two went back to searching. Their search didn't last long because Binx had woken up and jumped on the book shutting it close.
"We were trying to help you," Max began to explain to the angry cat.
"Well, don't!" He scowled at the two teens. "Nothing good, can come from this book, you got it?" He said before jumping off the book and going back to Dani, clearly furious with the two.
After a moment of awkward silence, Max turned to the girl, "Maybe we should get you home now," He suggested.
Drusilla nodded. "I'll wake Allison," She got up from her spot going to poke at her sleeping friend. Allison woke up with a groan before looking around the room.
"What time is it?" She asked the girl sitting up and yawning.
"Time to get our asses home before we're grounded," Drusilla said and Allison groaned before holding her hand out. Drusilla easily helped the girl up, and the two made their way out to the hallway.
"Mom? Dad?" Max called out looking into his parent's room. "They're still not home, that's weird. Must be having a great time."
He turned back to the girls and smiled as Drusilla approached him. Allison looked between the two sensing the shift in energy, "You know I really have to go to the bathroom before we leave, where is it?" She lied as the three made their way down the stairs.
Drusilla's eyes widen at whatever game Allison was trying to play to get those two alone again. When they reached the bottom of the stairs Max raised his hand to point to a small hallway on his left. "First door on the right,"
Allison nodded, "You guys can start walking don't wait up for me," She smiled before disappearing and Drusilla rolled her eyes and they stood in the kitchen.
That uncomfortable feeling she had felt hours ago suddenly hit her again, with Max's parents not being home yet it only amplified it. "Something doesn't feel right," She suddenly said.
"Should we get us some salt to walk home with?" Max jokingly suggested.
"Actually yes, I would feel a lot better with it." She sassed back. Max chuckled before going to his kitchen pantry and Drusilla followed him standing under him as he stepped up and dug through the drawers.
He soon held up the big can of salt that he had found. "M'lady," He said dropping it to her as he jumped back down next to her.
Drusilla turned it around to look at the label. "What's it say?" He asked the girl.
Drusilla read the usual label before smirking. "It says, form a circle of salt to protect from zombies, witches, and boys named Max Dennison," Drusilla faked a gasp looking over to him.
Max formed a look of fake hurt on his face, "It does not say that last part," He scoffed.
Drusilla only nodded. "Yes it does, which is a shame I really could've used this about ten hours ago," She joked.
He playfully rolled his eyes, "Mhmm, I'm sure." He rolled his eyes before looking down at her glancing at her lips.
Drusilla wasn't sure who leaned in first, her bet was on Max but she for sure knew she wasn't pulling back. At the moment she wanted him to kiss her. Despite the turmoil, they had been through tonight and the weird circumstances she wanted nothing more than to kiss the stupid boy in front of her.
Drusilla leaned her chin up, the tension getting overwhelming as their lips finally brushed against each other. CRASH! Just like that, the two teens pulled away instantly the moment gone as they turned to look to the stairs.
Allison came running out of the bathroom, "You guys okay?" She asked. Seeing that it was none of them who had caused the commotion sent a wave of panic over the three.
"Dani," Max said. The three quickly ran to Max's room skipping a few steps on the stairs. As the three entered the silence was eery but looking around nothing seemed wrong until they walked farther into the room.
"The book is gone," Drusilla said grabbing onto Max. "Something's not right," She said looking around more.
Max worried about his sister walked over to his bed where she was sleeping and pulled back the covers. Instead of Dani, Sarah Sanderson popped out scaring the teens. "Trick or treat!" The witch said with a laugh as the closet doors opened.
"Looking for this?" Winifred said holding up the spellbook.
"Or this?" Mary added gesturing to Dani who was in her hold and Binx who was trapped in a bag. Max screamed as the three tried to get away but they were no match for the now vengeful witches as Winifred opened her spellbook, a bolt of magic knocking Max back and over his drumset making Allison and Drusilla scream but the witches cackle.
Suddenly remembering the salt in her hands Drusilla opened the cap and pulling Allison close she spun around surrounding them with salt.
"Salt," Winifred hissed stepping back. "What a clever little white witch," She taunted the girl as Drusilla glared at her. "But, it will not save thy friends." Drusilla held the salt out as Winifred came closer glaring at her.
After giving Drusilla a once over the witch turned to her sisters, "Come sisters. The candle's magic is almost spent, dawn approaches." The two girls could only watch as they dragged Dani up the stairs to the crow's nest. Her glare nor grip on the salt faltered as they passed, Sarah sticking her tongue out at the two girls.
The blast from the witches' escape sent them flying back covered in dust and broken wood pieces as the sisters flew off into the night.
Drusilla quickly coughed standing up with Allison as the two called after Dani, standing and looking out of the now broken nest sighing before her attention was back on Max who was still laying on the floor. Drusilla quickly moved the broken drums off of the boy as she helped him stand up.
"Max, you okay?" She asked as the boy sat up rubbing his head with a groan. Allison quickly joined her helping him to his feet.
"Where's Dani?" He asked the two.
"They took her Max," Drusilla said sadly. A soft gentle voice could suddenly be heard and the three looked at each other before rushing up the stairs to the lookout.
Every child in their town was now out walking the streets following the sound of Sarah's alluring voice.
"Hey!" Max called out. "Hey, don't listen to her! Hey, up here!" He tried but to no avail, the children only continued to walk.
Drusilla chewed on her bottom lip sitting there helpless trying to think of anything to help Dani and the children of Salem out. "That's it," She suddenly said making her friends turn to her.
"Winifred said, the candle's magic will soon be spent and dawn approaches," She began to explain. "That candle only brought them back for this one Halloween night and unless they can steal the lives of children when the sun comes up, they're dust."
Max nodded. "But how do we make the sun come up? They've got Dani, we need a miracle." He said.
"Not necessarily," Drusilla added. "I have another plan," She informed them. Hopefully, this plan worked better than the last one.
