Chapter 1- Meeting

Hawks POV

I walk faster, sensing a presence behind me. I'm on my way to a league meet, and if some random civilian were to have followed me there, I don't know what I would do, besides be screwed, of course. I hear some rustling, most likely in some brush behind me. Its the same person I sensed before. Should I risk turning around?

I decide to risk it. I turn around slowly, at a 45° angle. From this point, I can look behind me enough to figure out who it is. I glance back, using my peripheral vision to my advantage. Its... Dabi? Well, that's a surprise. This may only be my 3rd meet with the league, but I already know Dabi isn't one to be late.

"So, why are you late? I didn't take you for the late type." I say, voicing my thoughts.

"I could say the same about you. But here you are. Not only that, you're also missing your wings. Care to explain?" He replies, his voice low and bored.

"Ehh, ran into some small-time criminals. I left them with Jeanest as soon as he got there though. Not that its your business. Now, your turn." I say. I wonder why I shared so much with him. He isn't even an ally.

"I'm good. I just didn't feel like being on time." He says. Its a see-through lie.

I'm about to call him out on it too, when, suddenly, his body seems to melt away. It's terrifying. I try to help him, but I'm at a loss for words. I dive at his body, trying to hold him together. Then, I stop.

"Wait, this is Toga's quirk. Toga?" I ask, glancing at the mushy body. It looks more like vaguely tan clay at this point.

Toga pops her head out of the mess. "Yup! Its me! Himiko Toga!" She says, revealing just a little too much cleavage for my comfort.

"Put some clothes on," I sigh, throwing my jacket at her. Blush dusts my face. I'm not attracted to her, it just surprised me to see her naked.

Toga smiles so big her eyes become tiny squinty lines as she throws on my jacket. "Y'know, you're pretty cute! If you weren't so much older than me, I might've started to like you." She says.

"Well, I'm thankful for that. You're 16, and I'm 22. Its 18 and up for me, little villain." I say, patting her head.

Toga smirks and starts to run off towards the building where the meeting is, and I sprint to keep up. "You're pretty damn fast" I call to her, "But now I'm starting to wonder, how the hell did you get Dabi's blood?"

"He had a nose bleed, said it was something he saw on TV. It was quite a lot of blood, I'll admit. I asked if I could use his blood, to pull a prank on the newbie, aka you. He said yes, so I took it." She says, smiling up at me.

"Haah, I don't even remember what I did at 16," I say vaguely.

"Oh? Please do elaborate" she says slyly, a smirk on her face, even as we near the run-down shack our meeting is at.

I'm momentarily caught off guard. I didn't realize I was talking out loud. "Don't worry. All you need know is that I hardly remember anything before the age of 18" is all I tell her.

Its the truth, but stretched a little, I'll admit. I do remember what happened, the day after I turned 17. I was a third year at UA, and I was training for battle with another student, except, this student had an underdeveloped acid quirk. We were fighting, and then, suddenly, I blacked out. I woke up a year later. That's how long I was in a coma. I woke up all alone in a hospital bed, with no one else in the room. I tried to call out, but I couldn't. There was something forcing air in my mouth, and out my nose. I tore it off.

"Hello! What's happening?! I just woke up and there's a ton of IVs sticking out of my arms! Can someone explain that? Please! I think I need help!" I call out, trying not to focus on the IVs any longer than I have to. I try to call out again, but my body is wracked with coughs.

Suddenly, I hear people frantically moving all around my door. Doctors come bursting in with cries of 'its a miracle!' and similar. They all ask me dozens of questions, as though it were a test. I try my best to answer them but some of them are lost in the mix.

"Tell me what happened!!" I beg. One of them turns to me solemnly.

"A lot has happened in the past year, Keigo Takami." They say. My old name scares me, but so does the rest of that statement.

      "I'm Hawks, not Keigo. And-"

"Hawks! Hawks! Hawks! Hawks!" Toga calls. "I've been calling your name for like 5 minutes!" She whines, "You should be called Spacey instead of Hawks!"

"Sorry! Calm down, Himiko! I'm fine!" I say desperately, putting my hands on her shoulders.

"Well it really doesn't seem that way! You've got tears streaming down your face and you didn't even notice when I drew your blood!" She snaps angrily, waving around a clear bottle filled with dark red liquid.

I take the bottle gingerly, and smash it down on the ground as hard as I can. It instantly dries up on the sidewalk in the hot summer weather. "No blood for you" I say, wagging a finger at her, and using my other hand to wipe away my tears. I didn't realize my past was an emotional subject.

Toga growls with frustration but doesn't complain. "well, we're in front of the meeting place anyway. Because of your distant ass, we're 5 minutes later than we already were.

I glance up at the small building, not that I need to. Its painted a depressing shade of pale purple, with most of the paint chipped off with age. One of the windows is boarded up, while the other is broken. And the door is boarded in place as well. The roof is missing most of its shingles, and sags down; resting maybe 2 feet above my head.

I take a deep breath, "Well, let's not keep them waiting." I say, before trying to shimmy through the hole in the window, which proves to be difficult with wing stubs. After a couple more seconds of struggling however, I manage to get through. Toga follows after, with ease. When we get through, we see a single door on the far side of the small room, and some light coming from beneath it. Next to the door, on a small stool, is a bundle of Toga's clothes.

"Well, there you go." I say quietly with an eye roll, "I can have my jacket back." Toga makes a whining noise, but still goes over to the clothes to change. I look away, and a minute later, she hands me my jacket, which I force over my wing nubs roughly, until they can get through the pre-made slots designed specifically for them.

With that, me and Toga (a hero and a villain, side by side, ironic, isn't it?) walk through the door, and are met with pure. Fucking. Chaos. Dabi's burning pamphlets, Shigaraki and Kurogiri are intensely pointing at maps, Overhaul and Mr. Compress are flipping over tables, compressing them, and releasing them to watch, mesmerized, as they come out of Mr. Compress's 'shells' right-side-up. Skeptic is frantically tapping away at his computer keys, and spinner is doing- well- lizard things.

"what the hell is happening? Where's Twice?" Toga calls, and everybody goes quiet as they stare at her.

"In the corner, trying to sleep, but apparently half of him doesn't wanna sleep, damn bipolar." Spinner says, before going back to aimlessly flicking his tongue in the air, as though trying to catch some bug the rest of us can't see.

Toga rushes over to where Twice is, and hugs him. "I missed you so much!" She tells him, scattering kisses all across his forehead. (in my au twice is 19, a more reasonable age for a love-life with Toga.)

Everyone awkwardly looks away from the couple, and their painfully obvious PDA, even if they wouldn't mind. I look away the furthest, but catch Dabi looking at the scene almost longingly. God, villains could be disgusting. I consider on calling him out for that, but decide not to. Although, it doesn't matter, because Shigaraki does it for me.

"Got a thing for watching teens kiss?" Shigaraki teases, throwing around one of the hands that's usually on his arm.

Dabi frowns at the implied, unspoken words, but decides to tease Shigaraki himself. "Nah, besides, Shiggy, you of all people would know that I only got a thing for men. Remember?"

Shiggy rolls his eyes, "Fag, I only make out with hot villain bad boys. Not you." He says. Holy shit, I didn't realize just how homosexual these guys got. What the hell?

My mouth moves before I can stop it, "Wait, can you pause real quick? isn't Dabi a hot villain bad boy?" It isn't until after I say it, and everyone's giving me glances, that I realize I mean it. Holy shit! I knew I was bisexual, but for a villain? For Dabi? I barely know the guy. Oh well, maybe I just think he looks cute, after all, he's clearly a sadist.

"Wait, no you pause. You gay?" Shigaraki asks, glancing at me through Kurogiri's purple-smoke-aura-thingy.

"Well, I'm bisexual, b-but definitely not for Dabi or anything! I-I mean I just met h-him, so n-no way!" I say hurriedly, stumbling over my words. Very convincing, Keigo. Dabi just smirks. I bite my cheek. He's loving every moment of this. He's definitely a sadist.
