XXXII Here goes nothing...
When I woke up a wonderful smell of pancakes reached my nostrils. The moment I opened my eyes Adrian was just entering the bedroom with a tray filled to the brim with tasty food. I could also see a steaming cup of tea. I sat cross-legged and breakfast was served to me in bed.
- On what occasion am I privileged to experience these wonders? - I looked at him curiously. He gave me the most beautiful smile I had ever seen and the widest one he had ever shown.
- Since you slept almost all day and night yesterday, I figured you must be really tired of everything, so... well... - I laughed at his helplessness in expressing words. Poor guy got so confused under my watchful gaze that he blacked out.
- Thank you. - After thanking him, I started to eat my breakfast. As I sipped my tea a few bites of the breakfast I had just eaten came up to my throat. I ran expressly to the toilet and made friends with the toilet bowl. Shit. Mint. I groaned in my spirit. I guess he doesn't know about my current aversion to mint, because otherwise he probably never would have made it. But so far it's been my favorite flavor. What is this all about? After a while I got up from my knees and rinsed my mouth. At the threshold of the bathroom stood Adrian with a worried look on his face.
- Are you okay? - I sighed and leaned my hands on the edge of the cupboard under the sink.
- Yes, it's just that lately me and mint are not a very good combination. As you can see from the attached picture. - I grimaced at the end. He nodded and walked back into the bedroom. A thought popped into my head, but I immediately chased it away. Pff... It is not possible. It's unrealistic.

A few days later after another date with the loo I decided I needed to go to Ann. I am heartily sick of this illness condition. Maybe she could prescribe me something or at least tell me what is wrong with me. I got dressed in some normal clothes so that I wouldn't be parading around in my pajamas and I left the house heading straight for the hospital. Upon entering I was greeted by the characteristic smell of sanitizers and sterility. I shuddered inwardly, but with a confident step I approached the young nurse at the reception desk, sitting behind the counter.
- Good morning. I wanted to see Dr. Ann Star. Which office can I find her in?
- Do you have an appointment? If not, there is such a thing as a telephone and advance appointment scheduling. You just punch in a few numbers and you're done. We're a big enough pack to have a system in place. We don't accept patients just like that. - She said maliciously with a grin on her face. She spoiled my faint mood, which was hanging by a thread this morning.
- Fiona, don't be impertinent. She is the Luna of our pack. She doesn't have to make an appointment. She doesn't even have to let us know she's coming into Ann's office. She asked out of politeness because she is well behaved, not like some people. - Out of nowhere an older nurse appeared sending the girl a scolding look. She turned as pale as her white uniform and opened and closed her mouth like a fish.
- Thank you... - I quickly looked at the badge pinned to the nice nurse's shirt and finished with a smile. - Eleanor.
- Oh... You're welcome Miss. The pleasure is mine. Let me lead the way. - She began to guide me down the hallway towards office number ten. - Wait here. I'll see if Ann has any patients and let her know you're here. - I sat down in a plastic blue chair. Eleanor came out, in front of her pushing a boy in a wheelchair with bandages on his arms and neck. She nodded, so I entered the room she had pointed out.
- Luna. - Ann tilted her head to the side, showing me respect.
- You don't have to do that. Oh and call me Rosa. Since you're my doctor, you don't have to address me by formal titles. - I sent her a smile at which she visibly relaxed.
- Sorry. I'll try to correct myself. What brings you here? - she asked, turning her attention to me. I told her everything, but she did not comment on anything.
- Lie down. - She ordered after my monologue, so I did exactly what she said. Lying on the couch, I stared at the ceiling. - Raise it. - I raised my head not knowing what she was talking about. She pointed to my shirt, so I did and lowered my pants a little. Suddenly there was a cold liquid on my stomach. It surprised me, and it was not pleasant.
- I forgot to warn you that the gel is cold at first. - She started riding the head all over my belly. After a few minutes, she finally spoke up. - Just as I thought. - Satisfaction was painted on her face until she finally dropped the bomb: - Congratulations. It looks like you're growing the next football team. I can tentatively determine that you are around your second month. I must point out, however, that this is the first time I've had triplets in my care. I feel sorry for you already. Three at once... - she giggled at the last sentence, and I froze in place. As my brain digested what she had just said, I began to panic slightly. Children? We as parents? What? How did this happen? I know how to make babies, but when...? The forest. When I was brought back to life. He didn't bite me, and it didn't even occur to us to use protection...
- Something's wrong? - she wasn't so happy anymore when she saw my sluggish face. I felt tears in the corners of my eyes and a lump in my throat. I wordlessly wiped the gel off my stomach and was about to leave, when her voice stopped me.
- In four weeks I want to see you for a check-up. We will see each other more often because of the number of babies. If you're nauseous, a ginger ale with honey might help, or just some ginger crackers or something... anything with ginger in it. But I can't do anything about the fatigue. - Dazed, I just nodded and crossed the threshold staring at the floor as I walked ahead.

Triplets? Holy shit. I wasn't even expecting one, and here pops three. I'm just sitting alone on the steps leading to the garden in my old cottage. I had actually forgotten it existed since I have been living in the pack house. However, now it is perfect for a moment of solitude to think. I laid down on my back and stared at the sky. I sighed and closed my eyelids putting my hands under my head. When I got here I sent Adrian a telepathic message that they shouldn't worry about me because I needed to think about something and I would be back soon. After that I put up a temporary wall around my head so no one would bother me. I can't run away anymore when things get tough. That's why this will be my emergency exit. Because sooner or later I'll still find a way to get back to Adrian. Day trips to a former estate not too far from him... That' s the plan.

I picked myself up and sat down in complete darkness. Well... I admit it... I fell asleep... Again.... As my eyes got used to the darkness I noticed some movement behind one of the trees. After a moment, a piece of fur flashed before my eyes.
- You can come over here. I know you're there. You don't have to hide. - I said with a sigh. After a moment, a light brown wolf with black eyes appeared at my feet. I ran my fingers through the fur on his neck and after a moment of petting him I got up and walked into the cabin turning on the lights. I sat down on the couch nervously playing with my fingers. Soon after I felt a hand massaging the muscles on my back.
- Will you tell me the reason for your sudden disappearance? - Okay... I took a deep breath and opened my mouth. Here goes nothing.
