I turn the lights off.

My phone locks with a loud 'click' .

I lie down looking at the fan over me.

Everything is so still.

The only sound I can hear is that of my heart beating.

And my uneven breathing.

I get disturbed by the faint noises inside my head.

I try to shush them. I close my eyes.

A dog barks loudly in the street.

I open my eyes.

Few others join. The silence is now disturbed.

In no time, it's quiet again.

The silence is creepy.

But it doesn't last long.

I am listening to my thoughts now.

I can hear myself speak to me.

I want some peace but the voice doesn't stop.

I'm yearning for silence.

But the voices get louder.

Messier.

I close my eyes.

I shut them hard.

Until I find peace.
