Keeping vigil every second
Eyes always on the gate
Waiting for me to return home
And hoping that I'm not too late

When I return home after a tough day
Tired and exhausted.
He's filled with joy, his tail he sways
This always lights a smile on my face.

He gets so excited
When I take him for a walk.
He's the one who hears
All that nonsense that I talk.

He's the only one
Who listens to my songs
Yes, I'm a bad singer
But he never points out the wrongs.

People keep changing their colours
But he never does that to me
He's the most loyal friend
One can ever be.
