4 | THINKING

the night sky was as beautiful as it usually is. the darkness of the sky surrounding the land as the stars were white dots decorating it with more light. it was like a blanket of nighttime was covering the earth, telling everyone who witnesses it's beauty to fall asleep to be well rested for when the daytime comes with its bright sun.

the shared dorm room of chenle and jisung was quiet, only one of the two boy being in the room's presence. the basket filled with dirty towels by the bathroom was nowhere to be seen, and the backpack of one of the student's was sitting neatly by one of their desks. the other side of the room was empty, save for the amount of pencils and pens the male had on his desk, in case he needed an extra for homework or anything.

it had been a day since junhwan confessed to jisung, and the blue haired boy rejected him, claiming that he didn't feel the same about the other, which was true. but anyone who knew jisung well enough would know that there was another factor involved, and for some reason, jisung chose to ignore it.

the younger of the two males is currently inside the laundry room of their dorm building, standing in front of the washing machine that is currently working hard to wash the dirty towels, most of them being coated with a light shade of blue or orange from the boys' hair colors. the owner of those towels was on his phone, talking to one of his friends who had called him earlier, jisung wasn't able to answer due to the fact that he was practicing his dance.

"wait... wait... you said no?" mark asked jisung, who was referring to the younger's answer to chenle's question last night.

"yeah. i didn't have the gut to tell him that i like someone," the blue haired male replied to his friend's question. he heard a sigh come from the other end followed by the quiet sound of someone saying something, but the younger male didn't quiet catch what was said. "what did you say?"

"hmm? oh, nothing. but please do tell me, and be honest with me, are you sure you want to confess to chenle at the end of this year?" mark asked, donghyuck obviously listening in on their conversation beside him.

jisung nodded his head, only to realize that mark wouldn't see him. "yeah, i am."

"damn, you..."  mark said quietly, but it was audible enough for jisung to hear what was said from the other line. a sigh was heard, followed by some shuffling. the blue haired male assumed that it was mark turning around in his bed, but that wasn't the case at all. mark was sitting up in his bed, now leaning his back against the head board of his bed. donghyuck was sleeping on his bed on the canadian's left, but mark didn't know that he was actually awake. "you're one hundred percent sure?"

"yeah," mark couldn't see the falter in jisung's eyes as he answered the other's question. it was obvious that jisung was thinking about not confessing, but he still decided to pretend in front of his friends. "yeah, i'm sure."

another sigh. "whatever you say, bro. just know that it's all up to you, it always has been, it always will be," mark said. "i gotta go now. need some sleep. i have a chemistry test tomorrow."

"mm. okay, bye," the blue haired male said before ending the call and letting out a sigh. he took  a look at the towels inside the washing machine, and watched as it spun around and around, cleaning the towels with water and detergent.

putting his phone in his backpack, jisung took out his homework he wasn't able to finish and began working on them again while waiting for the washing machine to finish washing the dirty towels.

back at the dorm room, chenle was wide awake, his back facing jisung's side of the room, lost in thought. the orange haired male had gone on a date earlier that day with the same girl from earlier that week, and that was what caused him to be lost in thought.

"thanks for bringing me back home, chenle," the girl said, arms in front of her and being held together by her hands.

"no problem, chaewon. it's dangerous for a girl to walk home alone at this time of night," the chinese male said, giving the girl a smile. chaewon just giggled and returned the smile given by the other.

"it's only 20:00," chaewon said, showing chenle her phone so he could see the time. it was indeed 20:00, which wasn't too late, and any girl would walk home by herself at this time of day. "i could've gone back by myself. plus, it isn't that dark outside either."

"it's still light, but that doesn't mean someone wouldn't snatch you. i mean, look at you. if i were them, i definitely wouldn't pass a chance to take you back," chenle said, jokingly. "it was just to ensure that you're back safe. i don't want your roommate to worry either."

"jieun is chill. i wouldn't worry too much," chaewon said to the chinese male. the taller nodded before swallowing the two in silence. neither of them spoke, but instead, looked at each other's eyes.

they spent time like that for a couple minutes before chenle saw chaewon's eyes look towards his lips for a spit second before meeting his eyes once again, and sooner than chenle knew, the girl was inching closer towards his face slowly.

feeling the moment, the chinese male also began leaning in towards chaewon, their lips meeting in the middle. it was a quick peck, yet chenle felt something wrong about it. though he wasn't able to put his finger on it, he pulled away quickly from the other, leaving the other stunned at his action.

"uh... i think you should go in now," the orange haired male said to chaewon, avoiding her eyes and rubbing his nape. the other was confused at chenle's sudden action, but showed a small smile nonetheless and nodded her head.

"okay. get home safe, please," she said, watching chenle nod his head before walking into the dorm building. chenle watched to make sure she was safely inside before turning back to walk back to his dorm room.

"why am i thinking so much about this?" chenle asked himself, turning around in his bed. the soft sounds of the wind outside were heard throughout the bedroom, almost like a soft humming. the orange haired male usually doesn't like being alone, but tonight was an exception. he hoped that jisung wouldn't come back until he is sound asleep because the younger could always tell when something was wrong, and the chinese male didn't feel like explaining to him what he's thinking and why.

"forget about it, chenle. it's probably nothing. you didn't like the kiss because chaewon is the wrong girl..." the male shook his head, in much conflict with his own mind and body. the orange haired male wanted to like the kiss; he wanted to like the feeling of her lip on his, but no matter how much he tried to make himself like it, he began to dislike it more and more.

"yeah... it' just because chaewon isn't the right girl," chenle said, denying everything his brain is telling him currently. though the chinese student isn't usually stubborn, today he decided to be as stubborn as jisung and ignore everything his mind is telling him, even though everything makes sense.

"it wouldn't make sense if i actually like guys instead of girls... no way," chenle thought last before falling into dreamland, the image of jisung in mind.
