Kate: Ugh!

Mother: Everything okay?

Kate: My first day of school was by far, the worst day of my life!

Mother: How come?

Kate: This girl tried to pick a fight with me, and I told her I had to get to class. Then, I have trouble, opening my locker, and the late bell rings! My math teacher grilled me for being late, and he made me fill out a tardy slip! Late to class, on the first day of school! What a life!

Mother: I'm sorry, sweetie! Hopefully, you'll have a better day at school, tomorrow.

Kate: I hope. I only have one more year of high school left.
