Then Summer and John Dory exit the realm of monsters and landed on a beach

Summer: *trying her best to act like nothing is wrong*

Summer: *still trying to act like nothing is wrong*

John Dory: I'm sorry I'm trying to be sincere for once and it feels like you're distracted 😑

Summer: no no no way 😅

John Dory: really because you're looking at me like I have a *realizes that he has a shark head* shark head 😣

Summer: what do you shark head 😅

John Dory: look the point is for a little girl child thing whatever who had no business being down there you did me a solid but you also almost died and I couldn't even beat the dumb crab so chances of beating Te Kā bupkis 😔 we're never making it to Te Fiti the mission is cursed

Summer: it's not cursed

John Dory: shark head *points at his shark head* 

Then Summer tries to give John Dory, his hook to convince him that the missions not cursed only rooms to end up, shifting into various creatures, including a chicken at one point and having a shark tail

John Dory: cursed 😫

Summer: *thinking* do I have the hardest story to complete 

Later in the ocean on the boat 

John Dory: 🎵what can I say except we're dead soon we're dead soon🎵

Summer: can you at least try 

John Dory: giant hawk *touches his hook only to end up shifting into different animals* 🎵hey it's OK. It's OK dead soon.🎵

Summer: *thinking* ok I can't take this anymore *out loud* all right break time is over get up 

John Dory: why are you gonna give me a speech? Tell me I can beat Te Kā because I'm John Dory. 😒

Mini JD: *nudges John Dory up*

John Dory: take a hike tiny 😒

Then John Dory flicks, mini JD and Summer sees John Dory's tattoos, including one that looks like someone throwing a child into the sea and starts wondering why he has that there

Summer: how do you get your tattoos? 

John Dory: they show up when I earned them

Summer: *points at the one with someone throwing their child in the sea* how'd you earn that one? What's that for? 

John Dory: that's man's discovery of Nunya 

Summer: what's Nunya 🤨

John Dory: nunya business 

Summer: i'll just keep asking *taps John Dory with her oar* what's it for? 

John Dory: you need to stop doing that 

Then Summer kept tapping him with her oar

John Dory: back off 😡

Summer: just tell me what it is

John Dory: I said back off

Summer: is it why your hooks not working?

Then John Dory loses his patience and he throws Summer off the boat and she realizes that she's not gonna get anywhere by being this persistent, and John Dory needs to open up to her himself

Summer: you don't wanna talk don't talk you wanna throw me off the boat throw me off you wanna tell me I don't know what I'm doing I know I don't. I have no idea why the ocean chose me you're right, but my island is dying so I am here. It's just me and you and I want to help but I can't if you don't let me

John Dory: I wasn't born a demigod my parents were regular trolls they uh they took one look and decided they did not want me They threw me into the sea like I was nothing

Summer: *thinking* so that's who the kid was 😨

John Dory:  somehow I was found by the gods they gave me the hook. They made me John Dory then back to the trolls I went. I gave them island fire coconuts anything they could ever want

Summer: you took the heart for them you did everything for them so they'd love you *realizing maybe this is why John Dory is such a perfectionist back home*

John Dory: it was never enough 😔

Summer: maybe the gods found you for a reason maybe the ocean brought you to them because it saw someone who was worthy of being saved, but the gods aren't the ones who make you John Dory you are

Mini JD: *hugs John Dory*

John Dory: OK I love you too buddy 

Then John Dory realizes that Summer is right, and he finally gets the confidence to try using his fishhook again and actually completing the mission and properly teach summer how to way find
