Starter No. 1
Things in bold can be changed and/ or deleted.
(well basically anything can, but specifically names and stuff may need to be changed)
"And as the girl turned the corner, the creaking behind her became louder and louder. She was too afraid to turn around, maybe that's what saved her from the same fate as the others. She stopped walking and closed her eyes, letting the creature pass. When she opened them back up, she saw written on the wall with blood: 'Aren't you glad you didn't see it?'"
"Ooh, chills..." Kassandra said with a small shiver. "I've got goosebumps,"
"That's a cute story Katie, but I bet I could do better," Amira said with a smirk. She adjusted into a more comfortable sitting position before beginning a story of her own.
"There was a small log cabin on a campsite by the lake. As far as anyone could tell the cabin was as normal as it could be. Especially before the incident. The day was warm and sunny, campers were fishing, hiking, normal activities for the campsite. As a few campers cast their lines, they noticed an unusual warmth coming from the direction of the cabin. It's human nature to have some curiosity, and that they did. They went to see what the warmth was, and much to their surprise, the cabin was on fire. As the attic started to lose its structure, there was a familiar call coming from it. The call of a crow. They continued to watch as the murder of crows fled from the burning cabin. The fishers called emergency services. The house lost all of its structural integrity, and it was too late to do anything else about it. The cause of the fire remained unknown, as the cabin had been uninhabited for over twenty years, but it had seemed like the fire started from the inside. Rumour has it the crows return to the cabin every year, pecking at the ashes that remained." Amira explained.
The original idea for this prompt was focused around the fact that a group of crows is actually called a murder, which I thought would make a good story. Do what you will with this prompt, you can change everything or even not change anything at all. Credit is not required but would be very much appreciated. If you do use this prompt please tag me in the chapter comments, Id love to see what you do with it!
Happy writing!
