Ninjago OC #2: Melody Aria Kelly

Sexuality: Straight (questioning if she's bi)

Looks: Very tall (just shy of 5'11), tanned olive skinned with thick brown/black hair that's right past her shoulders. Hazel eyes and lightly-colored lips

Clothes: Brown v-neck with half-length sleeves and light high-waisted jeans with a pair of white and black checked Vans. A few random bracelets and pair of hoop earrings. Light makeup of eyeliner and brown eyeshadow to set off her dark eyes.

Powers/element: Music/Sound (granddaughter of original Master of Sound, Jacob. She has a special affinity for vocal music instead of instrumental though)

Gi color: Silver

Weapons: Silver tessen as weapon of choice, kamas as second

Personality: Natural born leader, cautious around people she doesn't know but that quickly changes once she decides if she likes you or not. If she does, she'll open up and you're on the good list! If not, you're shut out and there's pretty much nothing you can do to change that. Very decisive and rarely ever just rushes into a situation without some sort of plan. Like Cole, her longtime crush, she can bottle up her feelings to cope with bearing the burden of being leader. Unlike Cole, though, she's much less likely to explode or get stumped coming up with plans because she likes to talk to Nya about her problems. She talks to and connects with Cole--she's the second in command when he's not around so they have that in common--and Nya--girl talk, enough said-- by far the most out of anyone on the team but is worried Cole only sees her as a friend because of how much they've been through as friends.

Flaws/fears: Can be too stubborn when it comes to following (or not following) her orders or Cole's orders. Music, being something she's passionate about and master of, can often get stuck in her head and distract her from whatever is at hand. She is also a perfectionist, especially when it comes to her music. She fears being a terrible leader, losing another family member, and coming off as clingy or needy. That's why she tries to distance herself when she feels like she's losing control. If nobody can touch her, nobody can be hurt or disappointed by her.

Crush: Cole! (Yeah I know it's the same as Isa but he's so perfect and UNATTACHED! XD)

Friends/family: Harmony Maria-Belle Windsor (Italian-American, Alive), Ryan James Kelly (American, Deceased)

Disabilities/mental flaws/idk whatever you wanna call em: Perfectionism, OCD. They got hand-in-hand with her stress being co/assistant leader with Cole. Even if she doesn't think she's the best for the job, nobody else but Cole can do it as well as she can. Her perfectionism can be great during training when learning a new move but during everyday life it's more of a curse than a blessing. She keeps a fidget cube in her pocket during the day to satisfy her wandering mind.

Other: She was the second ninja to be found, right after Cole, and the first girl to advance to kunoichi (female ninja) level. Wu made her assistant leader when he saw her and Cole had a connection through experiencing many similar troubles involving families and emotioal processing. When her father died at age 3, her mom took to moving around Ninjago ⅔ times a year as part of her job. Melody and her mom bond over a love of music and dancing, and she's been training under her mom for as long as she can remember. Melody was named (unsurprisingly) by her mom and it fit perfectly, as her powers passed directly to her daughter once she was born. For a few years, only half of her power was transferred. But then when Wu came to get her at 15, Harmony performed the Passing Ceremony where she officially transferred her full power to Melody. Melody never blamed her mom for moving around so much but now she wishes she could've been settled in one place longer because now she can't train at all or bond with her mom as much anymore. She doesn't remember much of her dad other than his richly colored skin, soft hands, and gentle, low voice. He didn't sing much but he did love to listen to Harmony sing while he rocked Melody.
