Parents--Jordanna (47 years old, a Muggle kindergarten teacher) and Atticus (49 years old, a Muggle veterinarian) Ridgewood.

Older siblings--Megan (20, author of the magical book "Get the Magical Garden of Your Dreams!") and Hickory (23, works at the Ministry of Magic) Ridgewood.

Clothes/uniform: She wears her uniform neat and tidy, exactly how it's supposed to be worn. Unless she's running late, which doesn't usually happen. Then it's a bit messy but she still takes time to do it as right as she can. Her casual clothes are more freely worn--black sweatpants or shorts and a gold tee with "Joy!" written on it in swirly white letters. Hair is usually down and left as natural as possible. A gold headband is usually her house pride item. Puffs rule! Also, jewelry is a must. Always fun to accessorize a bit! The charm bracelet was actually a gift from her siblings and parents before she left for Hogwarts, with one charm for each of them.

Personality: Mary-Jean is pretty much a stereotypical Puff! She loves to be around people and always tries to be just and loyal. It's fairly easy to become her friend whether you want to or not, and it's hard to say no to her puppy dog eyes. Not that she uses them a lot, as they make her feel guilty, but you know.

However, her moods can swing drastically depending on a lot of factors in her environment. When she gets mad (not often, but definitely explosive), she can (almost) shut her emotions off completely and can become very cold and uncaring, especially when her friends or family are threatened. She usually regrets whatever she does while she's mad when she realizes what happened and usually immediately apologizes.

She dreams of becoming a famous Herboligist when she grows up and Head Girl or Prefect in her 7th year. She is also taller than most of her friends and confident about how she looks and who she is as a person. However, that means that she worries more about how she performs in academics, especially magical subjects. She loves all whom she calls her friend dearly!

Likes: cooking and baking, friends, plants, animals, quiet nooks to read in, free time with her friends, singing (alone or with a small group, not in front of tons of people), gaining knowledge about anything magical, keeping in touch with the Muggle world

Dislikes: being angry at someone, having to hide or change herself for someone else, manipulation of herself or someone else, potions class, being misunderstood as a "dumb Mudblood" or something like that

Strengths: Care of Magical Creatures, defensive spells, loyal and just, easy to please, down to earth, great riddle solver, good at remembering details, cross her once and you may be forgiven, double-cross her and you've just made a horrible enemy.

Flaws: overthinker, overly loyal sometimes, Potions, History, very overly or underly emotional sometimes, overshares and talks over people by accident sometimes. She speaks fast when flustered but usually keeps an observant step back during everyday life.

Fears: Being rejected because of her blood status, not being able to protect her friends, having to go out on her own, letting her parents and older siblings down. Also the dark and public speaking.

Backstory: She grew up with knowledge Magic was real but wasn't allowed to practice or research about it until she went to Hogwarts. Therefore, she's worried about how she performs at school since she is a Muggle-born. Her parents wanted to keep magic to a minimum until she could go to Hogwarts and be taught properly, but they are still supportive of her magic because they went through it with her older siblings. Her older brother and sister were in Ravenclaw and Slytherin respectively so it comes as a surprise to everyone when she is in a different house than both of them. The more she was denied magical knowledge, the more she wanted to know, so she was super excited to go to Hogwarts for the first time! Her parents did have magical friends though, so she knew all about Hogwarts and the process of going there and how to prepare. Her siblings were both very helpful in preparing her--more so her brother, as her sister is more closed off and reserved. Her brother is much more outgoing and willing to help her! Think of Peter and Susan from Narnia, where MJ is Lucy.

Patronus: Snow Hare

Boggart: Seeing her friends turning their backs on her and leaving her forgotten and alone/telling her they won't need her anymore.

Best class: Care of Magical Creatures or Herbology

Worst class: Either Potions or History

Friends from best to eh: Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Neville Longbottom, Luna Lovegood, Harry Potter, Ginny Weasley, the Weasley twins, Dean Thomas, Cho Chang

Foes: None so far, but she is so-so on Draco Malfoy and his goons. She respects him but not sure if she likes him or not. It's a delicate balance.

Disorders/mental disabilities/whatever:
Idk what to call this, but severe feelings of not being able to live up to expectations. FOMO is also a big contender of all the extra things she does for other people. She has heavy anxiety about her magical blood status and (more so) academic career, but Madam Pomfrey has been wonderful about helping her through it, as well as her family when she can talk about it.
