Day 3: Work To Do
I slowly opened my eyes to see a pure white room. Carefully sitting up, I looked around, my brain slowly processing where I was. I swung my legs over the edge of the bed before standing. It's been three days since I first joined this Organization 13. These past days haven't had much action at all, but yesterday Saix, the second in command, said I was going to start going on missions like everyone else today. I wasn't sure what he meant by missions, but I guess I'm finding out.
I went to the community bathroom that the Organization seemed to all share(minus some of the higher ups). It didn't seem that anyone else with in there when I entered. I walked to an area that was labeled with the number that I had been given, 15. The space itself was just a sink with a separator from the other sinks; though it contained brand-new looking items such as a hairbrush, which I grabbed.
After brushing my brown hair into its usual hairstyle, long bangs draped over my left eye and the equal length back of my hair straight behind me, I walked to the Grey Area. The Grey Area seemed to be something of a common room as many of the other members were sitting in the many dull colored couches talking. I immediately noticed a spot of bright red hair, turning to look I saw Number 8, Axel. He was one of the first members that actually spoke to me so I thought it'd be best to stay near him, especially since the other members looked kinda scary.
"Hey there, Xakis!" the redhead said as I walked towards him.
"Good morning, Axel." I greeted back while sitting beside him.
"Hey Roxas, look! Three days in and she already has my name memorized, you really must've been a zombie!" Axel laughed while elbowing a blonde boy to his right. The blonde, who I'm assuming was Roxas, just stared at Axel for a moment before giving something close to a smile, but seemed forced.
"Ya.....Must have...." Roxas muttered dully. Axel sighed the looked at me again.
"I heard that today's your first mission, right? Who's the lucky babysitter?" the redhead asked with a slight chuckle.
"Uh....I believe Saix said Number 6.......Ya, 6." I said, remembering Saix speaking to me the day before. Axel began to laugh.
"Really? Saix is making Zexion take you on your first mission?" Axel asked, still laughing, "I hope he can keep his noise out of his book long enough to show you the ropes!"
"Um Axel? There weren't any ropes......" Roxas mumbled, breaking his silence. Axel just looked at him a moment before laughing again.
"Axel? Why are you laughing? Was something I said.....funny?" the blonde asked looking confused.
"Oh Roxas, stop being such a zombie!" Axel said while chuckling.
"Axel, don't you have a mission to do? Stop acting like Demyx and get to work." the blue haired second in command said sternly, standing behind Axel.
Axel looked behind him and laughed saying, "You don't have to worry about me being like Demyx! I'll get my work done, Saix. Don't be such a killjoy!" The last comment earned a glare from the Luna Diviner.
"Come on Roxas, we have work to do!" Axel said while quickly standing.
"But Axel, my mission isn't with you today....." Roxas mumbled in protest before being dragged by the redhead.
"You have a mission too, Number 15. I expect you to come to me shortly once you're ready to leave with Zexion." Saix said to me before walking off.
I began searching the room for this Zexion person. Axel mentioned something about a book, maybe that'll help. I saw in the corner of the room a male holding a black and silver book. It might be that Zexion person. I walk towards him.
Once I get close enough, he looked up at me, a cool, emotionless stare.
"Why are you coming to me? If you're ready to go on our mission, then go to Saix, not me." Zexion said bluntly while turning his eyes back to his book.
"Oh......I just thought you might like to talk before our mission......" I muttered, surprised by his cold comment.
"I'm not exactly the talking type. Now, if you're ready to leave, go talk to Saix, not me!" his voice sounding annoyed as he spoke.
"Oh.....alright..." I replied, feeling a bit hurt. I walked towards Saix.
"Ready to go?" Saix asked with no emotion in his voice.
"Yes sir." I responded while looking to my left, seeing Zexion walk towards us.
"Teach her all she needs to know, Number 6." Saix said before Zexion opened an oval of darkness, which I'd been told are called Dark Corridors. Zexion just nodded before walking through the black portal, and I followed behind him silently.
We walked out of the Dark Corridor into a town bathed in afternoon sunlight. The whole area were browns, making the area feel warm and safe. I looked around and we seemed to be at the base of a large clocktower that overlooked all of the town.
"Where are we?" I asked Zexion.
"In a world known as Twilight Town. We're here for me to teach you basic mission skills so that you'll be able to preform them on your own. Now, first you need to summon your weapon." Zexion informed me, taking a superior tone.
"Uh....summon my weapon?" I asked, not knowing what he was talking about.
"Every Organization member has a weapon that is necessary to complete missions. Are you telling me you don't have any means of fighting?" he asked sounding slightly shocked.
"No...?" I said, very confused. This seemed to bother Zexion.
"Superior must been losing his mind to add such a useless member!" Zexion said angrily.
As soon as Zexion spoke, four dark creatures jumped out of our shadows towards us. Zexion immediately reacted by throwing his book and hitting one of the creatures before jumping back. I, however, was unable to fight of the three that began surrounding me.
"Ahhh!" I screamed before trying to step back from the strange dark creatures. One had appeared behind me and scratched my back, causing me to stumble forward, gasping in pain. I heard Zexion growl angrily as he quickly defeated two of the monsters.
"Stupid Shadows...." he muttered before casting a spell that caused lightning to rain on the remaining Shadows. It wasn't much longer till Zexion had finished them off.
"Ugh.....you need to learn to summon a weapon, and fast. The Superior will turn you into a Dusk without a second glance if you can't fight." he spoke, looking me directly in the eye.
"I-I'm sorry. I still don't know what you mean by that!" I said scared. I don't know what a Dusk is, but I get the feeling that I don't want to be one.
Zexion sighed, "Nevermind that for now. I need to show you around this place so you can actually learn something."
"Um ok..." I muttered, following Zexion as he walked down the downward path away from the clock tower.
As we walked, Zexion only read his book, not once speaking or even looking at me. I had so many questions, yet I felt that if I asked one then I wouldn't get the answer I wanted. We reached a large open area with several shop looking places. I looked around, trying to see everything about this area.
"Whoa..." I mumbled quietly, yet loud enough to annoy a certain silver-haired boy.
"It's nothing special. Why do you seem so surprised?" Zexion scoffed.
"It's just so big and open....and so many colors.....and what beautiful lighting!" I continued to say in awe. Zexion just stares at me, looking like he doesn't understand what I'm seeing.
I close my eyes and sigh contently, feeling the breeze. I suddenly hear a female voice call to me, yet it felt like she was calling me from inside my own head.
"Hey! Open your eyes! There are more of those monsters are coming! You need to fight!" she said sounding worried. My eyes opened and I looked around again, barely noticing a shadowy figure coming towards Zexion.
"Look out!" I yelled, quickly pushing Zexion away as a larger Shadow than the ones we saw before surfaced and attacked. I was hit with full force and was sent skidding on the ground.
"More of them!?" I heard him yell while casting spells almost constantly.
The Shadow that had hit me crawled towards me, looking as if he wanted to cause more damage. I tried to stand, but the pain in my back erupted and was multiplied by three new scratch marks, leaving me on the ground.
"You really are defenseless aren't you?" I heard the voice in my head sigh, "I guess I have no choice but to help. Unfortunately, you aren't quite ready. So, rest easy while I have some fun." My sight began to dim as she said that.
"Hey! Wh-what are you doing?" I screamed in my mind.
"Saving you, now just relax!" the voice said right before I faded into unconsciousness.
AN: Whoa! Finally I wrote a new chapter! So sorry if you've been waiting a long time for this update! I'll try to update more! Till next time! Bye-bye!
