Act I: Marriage to Thomas
Jessie was with her friends before Thomas proposed to her. She was a normal and bright girl. However, he did twist her mind. Jessie was friends with an abundance of people. However, people were soon broke except for a few. Jessie was one of the lucky people who were rich.
-Nadia's POV-
I was married to Soleil. We were a happy family, but it was only the two of us. However, Soleil had lost all of his money due to a failed business meeting. He was very sad, but I knew he didn't mean to lose it all. I was working as a reporter and I sometimes wrote stories about the adventures of young kids. I was soon pregnant with our child. However, Soleil didn't want me to work while I carried my child, so I ended up staying at home.
"I can't believe you were pregnant before me!" commented Sam as she poured tea for me.
"I didn't think I would be either. You and Mister Joan were together far longer than Soleil and I were" I replied to her.
"Well congrats" answered Joan as he took a sip of his coffee.
Soleil was sitting with Joan and Soleil's younger brother, Aiden. They were enjoying their coffee and mainly talking about the new in Europe and when it . Jessie soon entered Sam's mansion. She was a very beautiful and bright young lady who knew how to handle her money. She is very good with mixing chemicals and creating medicine. She was very happy for some reason. She sat with us as Sam poured some tea into her cup.
"So, what happened to you today Jessie?" I asked her as I took my notebook out and a pen.
"I am engaged" she replied to us with a yawn.
-Soleil's POV-
We all nearly dropped our tea and coffee. She was engaged and she didn't bother to tell us who. Typical of her to do so. I was mainly curious about who her fiancé was. Our question was soon answered. He appeared through the door of Sam's mansion and we were horrified. It was Thomas. The biggest factory and owner and boss. He was well known through-out America as the cruelest man, because of the way he treated his workers. We didn't say anything to Jessie, because we wanted her happy. However, I could tell my wife was uneased about seeing him here.
-Jessie's POV-
I was so happy to be engaged to him! He was such a lovely man! I could never hate him.
"This is him! Thomas!" I introduced him to my friends.
They weren't happy to hear this. In fact, they looked horrified.
"Hello to you all. I am Thomas. How are all of you?" he asked them.
Joan glanced at the others and then he spoke up "We are doing fine. We weren't told Jessie would be married soon was all"
Thomas laughed and hugged me. I felt so safe and warm in his arms. Thomas had to leave to help prepare for our wedding. My friends were going to attend the wedding.
"So, what do you think of him?" I asked them with another yawn.
However, a butler came by.
"I am so sorry to interrupt, but may I please speak with Miss Nadia. Your sister, Miss Noemi, wishes to talk to you" said the butler.
"Ah! Ok! I'll be there. Soleil, please help me" she asked kindly of him.
He helped her up and they walked to the telegraph. I looked at my other friends with gleaming eyes.
Joan spoke first "I think he is a respectable man to some degree, but will he make you happy?"
I was hurt, how could they not support me?! After all we have been through! How could they? Aiden whispered something to Sam and then turned to me.
"I have to leave. I promised Benjamin that I would help him with his work" he said to me and hurried out.
I looked at Sam. Hopefully she would understand.
"I think you need to talk things slow. Do you know anything about this man?" she asked me calmly.
I was done. I was fed up with my friends. I walked out of her mansion and then headed for my home. I never spoke to my friends for years after my wedding! Oh, that reminds me, I think I am close perfecting a medicine that will cure anyone of their illness. I'll be able to finish that before the wedding.
-Benjamin's POV-
"I take it your friend didn't take the idea of Thomas?" I asked through the telegram.
"Benjamin! Where is my sister?" Nadia asked worriedly with a hint of anger in her voice.
"Relax! I just happened to be in the part of Asia she was visiting and came by to us her telegram" I replied to her calmly.
She sighed "We did try, but nothing worked. I guess plan B"
"Unfortunately, yes" I answered with a facepalm and I hung up.
Well I guess I better pay a visit to Mabel. I left for New York. I walked to a small house and entered it. Mabel was sitting with Jaylene and chatting about their lives. I snapped my fingers and they looked up at me. I noticed Coal was taking notes.
"We need to make an object to contain her powers" I said seriously.
"Has she shown you any signs of going crazy?" Mabel asked suspiciously.
I really didn't want to risk losing any Dreamers, but we didn't see Jessie act differently yet.
"Nadia said Jessie was starting to act differently. She wants us to go with the plan" I answered her.
"Fine. I'll finish making the doll. Jaylene, please use your magic when I am finished" Mabel said as she continued to sew the doll.
Once Mabel was finished, the doll looked exactly like Jessie. The doll even wore Jessie's favorite dress. I thought it was a very odd choice, but I didn't say anything. Jaylene held her spellbook and then cast the spell on the doll. I picked up the doll and departed.
"We will keep in touch" I said as I left the house.
-Locke's POV-
At the wedding, I meet up with Soleil, Nadia, Aiden, Sam, and Joan. The wedding went smoothly, and Jessie was married to Thomas. However, I could tell our friends were not too pleased with this marriage. I don't blame them and I agree. This was unexpected. I just couldn't believe Jessie would marry someone so easily. As the party for the wedding continued, I saw Thomas slip away. I quietly followed him and I was horrified to see him making out with another women! I tapped my bowtie and transported myself to Joan.
"Woah! Oh, Locke. What's going on? How did you get here so fast?" Joan asked curiously.
"I finally converted my crystal to my bowtie thanks to Millie's help, but Thomas is already cheating on Jessie!" I said to him urgently.
"What?! We've got to tell her!" Joan said as he rushed to find Jessie.
I left too, but I found her experimenting on her new medicine. I paid no attention to it as I approached her.
-Jessie's POV-
I finally finished my medicine! I poured some of it into a cup and held the two glasses. Locke approached me with a grave look on his face. I was worried about him.
"Jessie, your husband is having an affair with you" he told me seriously.
How could he say such a thing without any noticeable proof?! I couldn't believe him! I had an idea. He could test my new medicine!
"Really? Please tell me more about this" I said as I offered him the drink.
As Locke began to explain the affair my husband was having with me, he drank the drink. At first, he was fine. Later on, he began to cough and fell to his knees. He wouldn't stop coughing and soon he collapsed. I sighed. My first test was a fail. I walked away from him.
-Aiden's POV-
After the wedding was over, Locke wasn't found. Soleil and I decided to look for him. I screamed. Locke was laying on the floor! He looked dead! Soleil quickly ran to my side and he was in shock as well. How was Locke dead? This couldn't be happening, right? Soleil picked up Locke and we took him to a hospital. The staff took Locke away from us and we waited in the waiting room. Soleil called our friends and explained to them what was going on.
"Locke's friends?" a nurse asked sadly.
"Yes?" I answered her nervously.
"I am so sorry, but for some reason, Locke has passed away" the nurse said sadly.
This was a living nightmare. Soleil was in shock. I cried for my lost friend. How could he have died?!
-Jessie's POV-
I received word that Locke had mysteriously died. I was surprised. My medicine ended his life. I wrote down the formula I had used on him just in case I ever needed it. I hopefully won't need this medicine again.
-Benjamin's POV-
Locke was sent back to Slovakia to be buried with his family. None of us could understand why or how he suddenly died. Nadia and I had one idea: Jessie may have unlocked her power. Millie had found most of us except two people. We meet her in Japan and she explained to us that one of the Dreamers would cause a terrible destruction to a country. I kept my eyes on the Dreamers and I was positive that it was Jessie.
