Allah Ta'aala wrote the son against him. Whenever someone is unfairly killed, then Qabil also shares the sin, because he was the first to murder.

Adam (AS) had other children after the murder of Habil. He taught them his shariah. Adam (AS) had given 40 years of his life to his descendant, Dawud (AS). His age was supposed to be a thousand years.

When the angel of Death came to take his soul, Adam (AS) said, "I still have 40 years left."

The angel replied, "You gave it to your descendant, Dawud."

Adam (AS) said, "I did nothing and gave nothing."

Allah Ta'aala sent down the book and made the angels bear witness. Adam (AS) was then given a thousand years and Dawud (AS) completed a hundred.

When Adam (AS) felt death coming, he said to his children, "Verily I want the fruits of Jannah."

They went out to look. The angels met them. They had with them a shroud from Jannah.
