The entire family except Manohar and Tanu were present in the dining room

Manohar was taking care of a sick Tanu who had refused to go to the hospital because she knew she will be there for a week or two and didn't want to go away from the luxury and comfort.

They had just finished their breakfast Marisa rushed to the dining room startling all of them.

"Sorry to disturb all of you but a woman is here at the hall looking for Senor Akash. "

Akash frown and wheeled his chair to the hall to find Mami sitting on the couch fidgeting with her saree.

She looked so skinny and had dark circles under her eyes.

For the first time in many years, Akash observed his mother and even in this state she looked so beautiful and it confused him why she wore all those heavy makeup which made her look like a clown when she was beautiful just like this.

Mami stood up seeing Akash and smiled nervously at him.

"I am not here to disturb you but wish you the best in life and bless you if you will allow me. "

Akash was shocked seeing her smiling as if she hadn't just dropped a bomb on him.

She walked up to Natasha who looked nervous and held her hand.

"I am sorry my dear...... I was horrible to you and I will like to apologize to you...... I am sorry for all the insults I threw at you..... Please forgive me. "

Everyone was shocked hearing Mami apologize sincerely because they had never heard her apologize to anyone.

Natasha nodded and smiled at her.

"It's okay..... I forgive you. "

Mami smiled and cupped her face and tiptoed and kissed her forehead because of her height and then hugged and whispered.

"Take care of my son for me... I know you love him and so does her but it takes time for him to come around so please don't give up on him. "

Natasha's eyes widened in shock but she smiled and broke the hug and nodded leaving the others curious as to what she said to her but they knew it wasn't something bad because of her reaction.

She moved to Payal and Khushi who were standing together and held these hands.

"I tortured the two of you and I know I don't deserve your forgiveness but I must apologize for all the hurt and pain in intentionally and unintentionally put the two of you through and am happy you both came into our lives and a chain reaction of how much of an illusion we were living had exposed the people in our lives and I have you two to thank for that..... I am sorry for everything. "

Khushi and Payal shook their head and hugged her which she reciprocated.

She broke the hug both wanting to continue because she will end up crying if she continued which she didn't want to.

She then moved to Aman who was holding Aadijay and waved at the boy who smiled and waved at her making her giggle.

"Aman... Thank you..... Thank you for always being there for Payal and Adi..... I know you will be a good father not just for Adi but for the children to come into this family
"
Aman lied at her and she turned to Arnav was carrying Amaira.

"  Aru,"  Mami called out surprising Arnav because it's been years since she called him that. "She is so beautiful. " She gushed over her and Amaira smiled at her and she turned her gaze to Arnav.

She was about to speak when Arnav pulled her into a hug and Khushi walked up to him and took Amaira.

"There's no need for this..... I know you regret it and that all that matters. "

"Me too. " Nk said and joined the hug.

After a few seconds, they broke the hug and Mami smiled at them and moved over to Akash and kneeled in front of him.

It hurt her seeing the unshed tears in his eyes but she couldn't fall weak in front of him now.

"Unfortunately for you...... No amount of sorry or redemption will correct what I did to you, I let my hate overpower my love as a mother and it damaged you..... But please don't let an opportunity of having a better life pass you by..... I give you all my blessings and I hope you give life a second chance and don't use your condition as an excuse not to grab the chance it presents you...... I wish you all the best in life. "

Mami stood up and looked at all of them for the last time and turned to leave but the words that come out of Akash's mouth shocked her making her halt in her steps.

"You knew about his infidelity and that's why you changed. "

Everyone was shocked and Akash wheeled his chair and stopped in front of her and the tears that both of them were fighting back spilt uncontrollably.

"You have known for so long and with Dadi's taunts and insults, it triggered that fake persona and your neglect of me as a defence mechanism to the hit of finding out about his infidelity. "

Mami was shocked he had figured it put and the others were even more shocked knowing Mami knew.

"I found out from a good friend when she was pregnant for the first time..... It killed me and I couldn't confront him because your grandmother will use it to taunt me and I would have died if that happened...... I was always faith, did my duties as a wife and still took care of everyone including your grandmother who never let a day go by without taunting me or calling me a gold digger...... I felt so betrayed and changed into what they wanted me to be..... The gold-digger and money-minded woman..... I wanted to leave you out of this but every time I looked into your eyes, it reminded me of your father and his betrayal and I took it out on you which wasn't right...... I did everything to punish you for his mistakes because of my blind love and rage for him, I let you pay for a sin you didn't commit. " Mami cried out and everyone had tears in their eyes.

"I am so sorry Akash...... I am so sorry. " Mami wailed painfully and Akash moved closer and hugged her around her waist and she laid her head on his balcony and they both cried.

"Manu." Manohar's voice calling out to her broke the hug and Akash turned and fume at the cause of all this.

"Stay away from her. " Akash yelled and pushed Mami behind him shielding her away from Manohar who halted and painfully stared at his son and ex-wife.

Khushi signalled Marisa to take the kids away and she did because she didn't want them witnessing this.

"This so all your fault... All this is your fault and I will hate you for the rest of my life for it. " Akash bellowed making Manohar flinch.

"So that is why you never let touch you and all these years I thought it was because you never really loved and that maa was right about you...... Am so sorry Manu. " Manohar cried out.

"Sorry?..... You are sorry..... Sorry for what exactly huh?..... Sorry for cheating on her or sorry for making her who she is today... Which one is it Mr Raizada? " Akash yelled at his father.

"I swear didn't mean to cheat on your mother Akash...... I was drunk when it happened. " Manohar defended and everyone looked at him in disgust.

"Wow, Papa..... So you got drunk and conceived the three of us right?...... Do we look stupid to you?...... Just admit you cheated and stop hurting us already..... You are a lustful man and that's the only explanation for all of this. " Mansi yelled and started shaking as tears streamed down her cheeks.

"I am telling the truth...... I had gone on a business party and there I got drunk and woke up with your mother naked with me in bed...... I felt so sick of myself for sleeping with your mother who was my assistant when I was in Sri Lanka...... I felt angry at myself for cheating Manu and your mother but she said it was nothing and we both are not in our sense and to let it go but I couldn't and decided to tell Manu but seeing her happy with Akash and my mother challenging her that I will never stay faithful to her, I kept quiet not wanting my mother to have the leverage to taunts her for having faith in me..... A few months later Tanu called saying she was pregnant and her parent kicked her out and I had no choice but to help her but I regret everything. " Manohar defended and everyone was more disgusted by him and his denial.

"So how were Tara and I conceived..... Where are you drunk too? " Ruhi mocked and Manohar shook his head.

"I have the two of you willingly..... A few weeks after I returned from Sri Lanka, Manu started behaving strangely and started ignoring Akash and focusing on parties and friends and paying for more and more expensive things...... I confronted her and she ignored me and maa filled my ears against her and believed her and started spending time with Tanu and the two of you were the result of it..... I thought maa was right about Manu being a gold right and was just pretending to love me but the truth was she knew about my affair and that was what changed her. "

Everyone felt sorry for Mami and even though she had a choice of being a good woman, no one had the right to judge her because betrayal can damage a person beyond repair and that's what happened to her.

Akash held his mother's hand and kissed it.

"I won't stop you from leaving but please stay will me...... I need you maa. " Akash begged and Mami smiled and kissed his forehead.

"You don't need me Akash..... You have all of them and I need to heal myself..... And maybe someday..... I will come back and be the best mother to you but for now, you should let me go but I promise to call you okay. "

Akash nodded crying and Mami hugged him and broke the hug.

"I love you maa. " Akash said and Mami smiled at him.

"I love you to Aki and take care of yourself..... We will meet again someday and take care of your sisters.....they are good girls and are not to be blamed for our mistakes...... Promise me you will never blame them and be a good big brother to them. "

"I promise Maa. "

Mami said her final goodbye to all of them except Manohar who was broken finally understood to was all his fault.

She blessed Mansi, Tara and Ruhi and begged them not to see themselves as mistakes and help Akash recover.

She walked away with a huge smile on her face knowing her son was in good hands and that she was leaving to get the help she needed.

Akash wheeled himself towards the girls and smiled at them.

"Come give you bhai a hug. "

The trio didn't think twice and hugged him with all their strength and the others were happy that finally, Mami had closure and so did Akash and the girls.

Manohar walked back to his room not wanting to ruin this union.

Two Months Later.

Arnav and the family sat down in the Supreme Court of New South Wales as the jury was called by the judge to announce their verdict.

"On the charge of kidnapping, Miss Anita Malhotra and Mrs Anjali Jha are found guilty.

On the charge of blackmail and extortion, they are found guilty. "

The judge turned to the court.

"Miss Malhotra and Mrs Jha are sentenced to ten years for kidnapping and six years for extortion and blackmail..... All the sentences are to continue simultaneously and with parole at the Adelaide Women's Prison  ...... Thank you jury for your service today, the court adjourned. "

Arjun and the others were happy with the sentence and watched at a remorseful Anjali was dragged out of the court calling out to Arnav who ignored her and was unaffected by her tears but Anita had a scowl on her face.

"They got what they deserve. " Arjun said and they all nodded.
