Jackson turned to Cosmo as he took off,

"So, what happened?"

Cosmo glanced at Jackson,

"What do you mean?"

Jackson shrugged,

"When you asked me to get you some water, what happened with Alice?"

Cosmo sighed,

"I would tell you, but it really is not my place to-"

Jackson frowned,

"I know about what happens,"

Cosmo looked at him in surprise,

"Ohhh, so you were one of the people she mentioned found out by witnessing it,"

Jackson frowned in confusion,

"Didn't you find out by witnessing it?"

Cosmo scratched the back of his neck,

"Uhhh...don't feel offended by this, please. She told me a little while ago about it when I was taking her home,"

Jackson looked at him in pure shock,

"Wait, she willingly told you about this? Like without you having to see her have an episode?"

Cosmo nodded and scratched the back of his neck,

"Yeah,"

Jackson sighed,

"Alright,"

Cosmo glanced at him and saw how sad he was,

"Hey, listen. This kind of this is hard to talk about, she wanted to tell people for a while but she was struggling with figuring it out herself,"

Jackson nodded,

"Yeah, I get that,"

Cosmo nodded before his phone rang. He looked at it and frowned when he saw the contact name: Max 🤓, he picked it up,

"Hey-"

"Cosmo, did anything happen during tennis?"

"Yeah, she had a small episode,"

"How small?"

"She struggled breathing for a second but I was able to calm her down fast,"

"Was she still acting anxious when she calmed down?"

"A little, why?"

"She fainted, I'm in the hospital right now,"

Cosmo immediately parked the car at the first spot he found and Jackson looked at him in confusion,

"What do you mean?!"

"When she got home, she collapsed. I-I'm in the hospital waiting room right now and Amaury is on his way,"

"I'll be right-"

"No, it's okay you don't have to come. I just had to ask,"

Cosmo sighed and nodded,

"Fine, but keep me updated,"

"I will, bye!"

"Bye Max,"

Jackson looked at Cosmo after he put his phone away,

"What happened?"

Cosmo sighed and ruffled his hair,

"Alice is in the hospital. She fainted at home,"

Jackson's eyes widened,

"What? Which hospital?"

Cosmo sighed,

"Max didn't tell me, he doesn't want us to come."

Jackson frowned,

"What about Alice?"

Cosmo sighed,

"I mean this kind of thing happens to her, we just will have to wait,"

Jackson sighed,

"But-"

"I know, I am just as worried as you Jack, just have hope,"

Jackson sighed and nodded,

"Alright,"

Maximus paced back and forth in the waiting room when he heard heavy footsteps. He looked up and smiled nervously at Amaury,

"Hey Amaury,"

Amaury pulled him into a hug,

"Don't worry kid, Alice is a fighter,"

Maximus sighed and nodded,

"Yeah, I know. But that does not make this any easier,"

Amaury nodded,

"Yeah...did the doctors come out yet?"

Maximus shook his head,

"No, not yet,"

Amaury nodded,

"Where should I sign?"

Maximus gave him Alice's hospital papers that the nurse gave him,

"Sign at the bottom,"

Amaury nodded and signed right above the line that says guardian. Maximus smiled at him,

"Thanks for coming,"

Amaury nodded,

"No problem, I am your emergency contact,"

Maximus smiled,

"Thanks for volunteering to be ours,"

Amaury chuckled,

"I would do it again in a heartbeat,"

Maximus smiled at him and then the doctor came out,

"Alice Zaro,"

Amaury and Maximus walked up to him and he nodded,

"Okay, so miss Zaro will be unconscious for a day or so, I have searched her medical records and was wondering if one of you could explain to me what exactly is happening with her?"

Maximus nodded,

"So uh, no doctor has been able to actually explain it to us. But from what we know, when she gets very anxious, she starts having trouble breathing and can be small medium or huge. She can't control when she starts getting these attacks...and yeah that's all we know,"

The doctor nodded,

"Thank you, my name is Doctor Zander, I will see if I can find more information on her, she has monthly check-ups?"

Amaury nodded,

"Yeah, for the next few weeks it will be bi-weekly just to make sure,"

Doctor Zander nodded,

"Understandable, well, we will be in touch,"

Amaury and Maximus shook his hand and Doctor Zander left. Maximus looked at Amaury,

"So we are onto the same drill,"

Amaury chuckled sadly and nodded,

"Yep, I will call my bosses and tell them she won't be until Wednesday,"

Maximus nodded,

"Thank you,"

Amaury patted his shoulder,

"Anytime Max, I got your back,"

Maximus smiled and nodded. His phone went off and he sighed when he saw the contact: Noelle🤢. he looked at Amaury,

"I'll be right back...that's my mom,"

Amaury nodded and squeezed his shoulder,

"I'll be here,"

Maximus smiled and walked outside the hospital and picked up,

"Where the hell are you?"

"At the hospital?"

"Why are you in the hospital?"

"Alice had another attack,"

"You went to the hospital again just because she had a small attack? Maximus you know how expensive those fucking bills are!"

"How dare you assume Alice would let me take her to the hospital if it was a small attack?! She fainted a few hours ago!"

"Then you should have just kept her home until she woke up! She would have to take her weekly things anyway, no point in going to the hospital for such a small thing,"

"How DARE you say that something like this is small?! She is my twin sister and she is unconscious right now!"

"And she is my daughter and I have a say in whether she goes to a stupid hospital or not!"

"NO you do NOT! She has to go to the hospital just in case something happened!"

"Nothing ever happens! These hospital visits are killing our funds!"

"Oh and YOUR problem isn't?! Screw off!"

"Maximus! Do not curse at me!"

"You know what?! Fuck you! Leave us alone right now,"

"Don't come back into this h-"

Maximus hung up and sighed before going back into the hospital, Amaury looked at him sadly,

"You okay?"

Maximus nodded,

"I will be once we actually find out more about this thing,"

Amaury nodded,

"And we will...just give it time,"

Maximus sighed and looked Amaury in the eye,

"But how much time does she have?"

Amaury sighed and pulled him into a side hug. It was an unspoken question that none of them wanted to be answered...will this illness be the death of Alice Zaro?
