Basically, after graduating highschool, Nate needs to go to college, but his parents somehow came across acceptance papers for a Youkai Academy! after some research on Hidabat's end, she finds that its a School for MONSTERS, not just Youkai! yo-kai and Youkai are two different ends of the same spectrum, Yo-kai being spiritual, Youkai being Biological. Enma finds out about the situation, and recommend a recent process so Nate doesn't get found out as a human, a new form of Soulcery that binds a yo-kai to a humans soul, allowing them to shift between human form, and a yo-kai form. this process is not permanent and can be reverse to release the yo-kai in question. Jibanyan steps up, he'll help Nate. this form of Soulcery will one day advance to become the Yo-kai Hero system in Yo-kai watch Jam.

Youkai also have Medals that can be used in the Yo-kai watch, they all just have a different tribe Jingle.

Yo-kai in this will have more appropriate proportions and looks, like Nekomata will be less cartoony proportioned cats, and more similar to Felynes from Monster Hunter. humanoid yo-kai like Blizzaria will have proper human height and proportions as well.

Side Plot, Nate finds a Originyan during break when they go to the beach. It ends up imprinting on him and calling him Dada, this pulls on everyone's heartstrings, including Ms. Nekonome, who has a crush on Nate.

After sometime, Nate's Friendship with Bear and Eddie soured due to them always hanging the term, Average, over Nate's head, and Katie just moved away at one point and never kept contact. So Nate mostly just had his Yo-kai friends until he Graduated, Top of 4th of his Grade infact, better then Eddie!

the monster world is very outdated due to the stubborn leaders, which is why humans aren't allowed, despite the fact that a good few human populations are completely aware of the supernatural, and coexist. even the school staff find the rules too old fashioned and primitive, to the point they don't actually hold them up, they do the right thing and send any human that ends up there home.

also turns out Nate has Vampire ancestry on his Moms side, a few generations back.

the school staff also piece together that Nate is a human using Soulcery with a Nekomata, but they let him stay, they also realized this due to a couple of Chapters in the history books, have pictures of him and his grandfather from when they stopped the Wicked yo-kai tribe.

During the situation with the Ninetailed fox guy, Nate calls up S rank power, though, before he could take on S rank monsters like Moka just fine. Though, he and Whisper also fuse to form Buchinyan, which, due to a combination of Buchinyan typically being a higher rank then Jibanyan, The S Rank state, and the strong connection between Nate, Whisper, and Jibanyan, as well as the drive to protect their friends, boosts them to SSS Rank, stronger then the SS Rank Buchinyan was when he first formed to fight all the boss rank wicked swarm. They also gain a Hagoromo made from Buchinyans belt thing, symbolizing the bond and desires they have pushed their limits to the near point of being Kami when they are together. When the fight is done, the entire school sees Nate in his near Kami state, before he reverts to human form, they also took pictures and videos, teenagers are gonna have smartphones.
