What if instead of the ninja anime we got, we got a shinto based one instead, samurai and Shinobi, youkai and kami. Of course it'd be close to modern times, like Naruto, they had tech and stuff. Like a AU japan.

Naruto had a true kitsune sealed inside himself, a newly released and corrupted Tamamo-No-Mae. A onmyoji comes and takes a young and orphaned Naruto, teaching him, and raising him into a kind young man. He's aware of who is sealed inside him, but due to being corrupted(temporarily), scorned, and forced to watch the one shes been sealed inside be scorned and abused himself before the Onmyoji came to his aid, She is fairly cynical and disconnected to humans, most atleast, she is attached to Naruto and often makes sure he takes caution towards other humans and youkai, and feels great malice towards women who try to take him away from the Onmyoji's care. However, Tamamo is actually only a small piece of herself, the ones who released took pieces of her being, to attempt to create a youkai to conquer Amaterastu herself(they aren't even remotely able to do such)(i am not saying to use the fate series tamamo no mae and her tails)
