-Prof. Krane has been studying claw drawings depicting a Winged Tiger(Tigaitaka, Tiger+ Tai + Taka), a Spiked Tortoise(Uromapin, Uromastyx + terrapin), and a Clawed Serpent(Quezalboa, Quezalcoatl + Titanaboa), all three of which have been depicted a two ways varying from each Ruin, one more natural, the other form evil.

-The reader has a Sylveon.

-Shadow pokemon begin popping up once again, and Prof. Krane entrusts the reader, along with his Daughter, Willow Krane, to daughter and Purify the Shadow pokemon, and find out who has begun to seal away the pokemon's hearts. The reader is given a Snag Machine and a badge so Officers know he is permitted to use it on Shadow pokemon.

-some pokemon, like Starters and Pseudo Legendarys, have changed form from being turned into Shadow pokemon. Much like Shadow Lugia did.
