The reader is an Orphan, all he ever had from his birth parents was a crystal clear king chess piece connected on a necklace, and a box he couldnt open.

One day he is suddenly lucky asked out on a date with a very attractive woman with blue hair(Kalawarner). Later on the date, it turns out Kali(her human name, like Raynare is Yuuma(or what ever it is)) is a fallen angel ordered to kill him because he has something called a Sacred Gear.

When he is run through with a spear of light, Kalawarner walks over and shows a bit of humility by comforting him in his last few moments, when she left he final breathed his last breath, but the Crystal Clear king piece he had from his Birth parents glowed as a glythe formed on his chest, allowing the King Piece to be absorbed into his body, suddenly restarting his heart, and healing the hole in his stomach.

Nearby, Koneko, who was sent by Rias to watch over the date, suddenly sprint over, completely freaked out. She had saw the reader get run through before she could act, and was unable to save him, which caused to freeze and cry a single tear, as he was one of her few friends that wasn't in the ORC. She also heard the Fallen angel Kalawarner comfort him in his final moments, but what shocked her the most was his sudden Resurrection, and the odd aura power that seemed to flare up from him. He was still completely human from what she could tell.

With Rias, she had just witnessed Koneko rush in through a glythe carrying the reader, who was unconscious and had a strange new aura of power emitting from him, similar to the barely noticable aura from his Chess Piece he always kept close, that she occasionally asked herself about if it was some kind of Evil Piece, and if the torn spot of his shirt and the blood stains, as well as the fact his necklace was missing the Pieces, was a good indication that it was, but wasnt the same kind as Evil Pieces as he was clearly still human.

When the King Null Piece resurrected the reader, the box opened, with the rest of the Null Pieces revealed.

Also, the reader has a cat he found in Kyoto that was injuried, and brought back to health, that cat is Actually Kuroka, but the reader calls her, Kurowa(kuro-(shadow, black), -wa(peace, calm)).

Those revived by a null piece are effectively passive to all elemental attacks, like a null type. Basically no super effective hits in any way shape or form.
