When Naruto was abandoned for mysterious reasons. He has a few Celestial Spirit Keys, Primarily Vulpis Minor and Canis Major. He is kidnapped by Zeref Cultists and was used to capture the Kyubii, who is one of the tailed demons of Zeref, a group of 9 demons from the book of zeref.

Kurama released powerful waves of magic to kill the cultists while keeping Naruto safe, this would draw the attention of Makarov, who would find Naruto and take him to Fairy Tail.

The Tailed beasts are truly demons of Zeref, but they were captured by Zeref and Experimented on, but they never got anything new or anything.
