Random Bolts AU
October 13, 2016...
When it was finally time for the pre-game festivities, I waited in the hallway while the coaching staff was getting announced. Apparently they thought that the trainers and equipment managers like me didn't deserve mentioning. But of course, the crowd probably cared most about the precious coaching staff.
After the primary announcements were made, the announcer started to introduce the players by number, going from least to greatest. This was ironic considering that with this team, the higher your number the more you're seen as a "face" of the team. Stamkos was announced last, since his number was the greatest, and the crowd's feedback was as great as his number. It was a sellout crowd, which wasn't surprising with this city, since we sure do love our hockey team.
The national anthem was sung, and the puck dropped with us winning the opening faceoff of the season. When play was well underway, (and the Wings up by a point), I started to notice that the team just didn't have that spark of theirs. They just didn't seem to be playing as aggressively as they normally do. But then again it was understandable since the full team hasn't been together for very long, with things like the World Cup happening, and contract issues. And as the game progressed, the team shook off the spider webs and were starting to look like a team again. (In the second period). Bish got his act together, and the bolts pulled together and played like the one I remember from last season. As of the second period, we were tied, but the Wings re-gained the lead once again. And as many suspected, a brawl started on the ice. Sus was throwing punches at a Red Wing, and Coburn slammed down another one. But something seemed odd about their opponents, since they were almost getting shocked with every punch. It was then that I noticed that Sustr's knuckles were electrified, and so was Coburn's body slam. Once they settled, the two sat in the penalty box for two minutes. Again, I noticed that Sus' knuckles weren't electrified, but bleeding.
Was it from the electricity? I thought as I glanced from the game to the penalty box. I'll ask him when after the game, if he has a chance. I thought to myself as the game played on.
By the time the game ended, the score was 6-4 and we won. Walking through the crowded locker room, I spotted Sustr who wasn't one of the players being interviewed.
"I know this might sound crazy- but did you notice that your knuckles were electrified during your fight?" I asked, glancing up at him.
(now it's your turn to finish this) (and you can add your own characters, players, whatever, just be sure to give credit)
