I will never write a RWBY X Male Reader Story, solely because of how bad the series is thanks to its new writers and how oversaturated RWBY X Male Reader Stories are on this site. But that's not really anyone's fault, since RWBY's world and premise has a Shit ton of potential for different stories…

BUT!!! If I did write a RWBY X Male Reader Story… it would go a lot like-

So, you know how Non-Canon anime movies will introduce bullshitly powerful characters as Villains, or just Bullshit Characters in general that would seem weirdly important if they were Canon, but aren't at all and feel extremely forced outside of their movie, and you just cannot care about them at all?

*COUGH COUGH! UTA! COUGH COUGH! FILM RED! COUGH COUGH!*

So! What if we did that with RWBY... but retroactively changed the entire Canon of the show, for the better because of it?

《The Beginning Of The Story!》

LONG BEFORE THE MAIN PLOT OF RWBY! but not Too long.

A group of students start their new school year at the Hunter School of Beacon, but things are quite different from normal.

Instead of Following Ruby, Yang, Weiss and Blake, we follow familiar characters who are all extremely interesting, but get more or less shafted by the plot by Volume 3.

We Follow! Tai Yang, Qrow, Raven, and Summer Rose! Also known as Team STRQ! The parents and Uncle of two of the main gals Ruby and Yang.

ANYWAY! They aren't important just yet! 

As we follow an unassuming character.

A Street Rat is seen running away from a Gang. Using his natural skill to escape from his attackers, slowly taking them down one by one with his sneaky abilities, struggling against their High Tech and Powerful weapons and auras while he just has something like a Thick Stick like baseball bat.

This scene does nothing but to introduce us to our Story's MC, Y/n! A humam boy who's lived on the street all his life, and has gained a mass of skills because of it. This also introduces us to his character traits and personality!

Y/n's Snarky, Cocky and bites off WAY more than he can Chew despite his lacking skill compared to his peers, but not lacking in skills and smarts to handle the problems he gets himself into, but despite all that, he's not perfectly, as he gets banged up A LOT.

Anyway! Life Goes On! 

As Y/n continues on struggling to live the poor life, while also dealing with Gangs and other stuff, he helps a Faunus Kid on the street people are ignoring to show that he isn't as Racist as other humans. This doesn't mean much for the rest of the series but just helps establish his personality, and is much better than the Helping Velvet scene every Fanfic ever pulls, since people often forget that she is a Year ahead of everyone and could easily kick the shit out of Cardin if she wanted to, but doesn't since she's a nice person.

That aside!

We now get to the inciting incident that gets our boi into the main plot of the series!

While Ruby's was that Robbery fight that Hurled her into the plot faster than a Jet Engines shooting a rocket through the sky, our MC's is a little different, but holds the main core item that draws them into it.

《Dust!》

Everyone who's watched RWBY can agree that Dust is a pretty underutilized Item in the series. It's Mystery and has a load of powers that can even affect Semblances and Aura, And it's made only more interesting as Roman, the very first major antagonist of the show, is seen stealing a shit ton of it for some reason.

AND THEN DO NOTHING WITH IT!

So let's change that shall we?

Y/n helps his Local Gangs infesting his city to survive, and we see him as he lives talking to, hanging out with and learning the plans of all the different gangs around town, using his smarts and the info he gathers from them to avoid deadly confrontations. But while he does this, he learns that one of the bigger gangs has been hired by this weird guy, a real Big Shot, which I will simply refer to him as, and he's giving the group an UNREASONABLY high amount of money for them to steal a ton of Dust for them directly from a Mine. 

Now, obviously, Y/n gets in on this plan, he 100% needs the money, and the job seems harmless. It's Dust! The only uses it has are helping Hunters kill Grimm and fight wars, and there's no war going on, so nobody's getting hurt in the long run, so with this logic he decides to help.

So, our boi joins the gang as they infiltrate and begin robing dust, directly from a Large Mining facility not far from their town, all the while, the Big Shot that hired them goes along with them into the mine with a large group of his own men with them. The Big Shot's attention is quickly grabbed by Y/n as he shows off his skill taking down several guards at once without raising any alarms! But! When the Y/n does this, he notices that somethings up with these mines... For One, the Guards aren't just armed workers or Low Rank Hunters... they seem Military Grade, wearing High Grade Armor and even wielding powerful weapons. Y/n can't tell who they work for, but knows that they're top tier guys.

Y/n's wonders are quickly cut off by the Big Shot, as he encounters Y/n and asks where he learned he learned his skills and if he's a hunter disguised as a Street rat, in a really threatening way... but Y/n just laughs it off and says explains that he got his skills from just trying to survive on the streets, much to the Big Shot's surprise.

The Job continues on, as the Gang and Y/n along with the Big Shot and his group of Boys make their way into the Dust Mine. The Gang then begins gathering up the Mined Up Dust while the Big Shot and his bois go deeper on their own...

While the Gang seems unaffected by this, The MC is very suspicious of the Big Shot and begins stealthily following them.

It doesn't  take very long until Y/n finds the Big Shot and his Bois gathered around an odd and very Bright Glowing Purple Crystal in the wall that the Big Shot is a very big fan of, saying: 

Big Shot: "With this bad boy, our plans will be finally complete. Quick! Dig it out!"

After ordering his Bois to get the crystal out of the wall, Y/n watches the crystal in awe, feeling an odd mass of power radiating from it... something he feels weirdly extremely attracted towards.

Y/n then notices that same feeling radiating from somewhere else, and follows that feeling, finding another odd glowing crystal in another wall, although this one is much smaller than the original and glowing a Golden Color instead of a Deep Purple one. Reaching forwards, he grabs and takes the crystal out of the wall, feeling that odd and intense power radiating from the crystal even more intense as he holds it in his hand.

After taking out the odd Dust Crystal, the man jumps as one of the Big Shot's Bois finds Y/n with the crystal and yells to everyone else. The man quickly panics as he's surrounded, he tries to explain that he wasn't doing any harm and tries to hand the Crystal off to others... only to be confused as the odd power and glow radiating from the golden crystal has completely disappeared….

The Big Shot then appears and holds a face of disappointment, as he wastes no time ordering Y/n to be killed. The Big Shot's bois quickly load their guns and get ready to shoot Y/n down execution style. But as Y/n gets shot the world begins to distort and change around him in an extremely odd way, as he finds himself suddenly behind the group of shooters in the blink of an eye, a brand new power awakened inside of the man.

The MC then quickly begins running as he's chased down by the Big Shot's Bois as they try to kill him and retrieve the crystal he stole.

After a long series of escape and fight scenes, Y/n finds that he has a brand new mass of amazing powers and skills as he escapes the gang and Big Shot's Men.

Remembering the conversation Y/n had with the Big Shot earlier, he decides to apply for a Hunter's School, not knowing anything about them, he hears that Beacon's the best and applies to it.

The MC then takes part in a mass of entrance exam style tests, similar to One Punch Man where he's looked down upon by all the other applicants thanks to his clothes and form and the fact that his weapon is just a thick baseball bat like stick compared to all the high-tech Transforming Monster Hunter style weapons.

Y/n then begins to ace every test, especially the Physical Exams with his Stick of a weapon, much to everyone's surprise.

Y/n is then seen struggling a bit on the Written Test, much to everyone's hope as he stays behind later than everyone else stuck on a single question, only to angrily approach the Test holder, explaining that the last question is impossible, before leaving, revealing that he refused put an answer down for it.

After that, the man himself, who I hate with a passion for making the story of this show All the more complicated as fuck, Ozpin is seen being confronted by the test holder as they explain the MC's actions, as he was the only one who didn't answer the last question. Ozpin is amazed, stating that he intentionally made the question so that it seemed simple but was in fact impossible to solve.

In the end Ozpin looks at the pictures of the different Applicants and confuses Y/n for someone more fitting looking for a Hunter applying to his school, only to be genuinely surprised when he finds out that Y/n is indeed the boy with absolutely no history of being in any sort of Hunter School. Thanks to his curiosity, and the fact of his test scores, Ozpin allows Y/n to join Beacon.

AND WITH THAT! 
The story actually begins!

Y/n starts out as an Underdog joining the most prestigious Hunter's School in the world, getting a team of pompous rich lackluster nobodies who just push him around like your average bully, but! Is one day saved from his own team's vicious treatment by the boi himself! Tai Yang of Team STRQ! With this, Tai and Y/n begin a friendship that will only grow into a powerful brotherhood as Tai introduces Y/n to his team! Eventually making friends with the Team's Leader and other members, Summer, Raven, AND-

Qrow: "Name's Qrow."

Y/n: "Your name is Crow?"

Qrow: "No, it's Qrow."

Y/n: "That's exactly what I just said…"

Qrow: "No, you're saying it wrong. It's Qrow."

Raven: "*Sigh* You have to say it with the Q."

Y/n: "What?"

Raven: "You're saying Crow with a C, his name is Qrow with a Q."

Y/n: "What!? Hold on! How the hell can you tell that I'm saying it with a C and not a Q!? They're pronounced the exact same way!?"

Tai: "That is a Good Question…"

Summer: "Wait, Crow's name is Qrow?"

Qrow: "JUST SAY IT WITH THE Q!"

Y/n: "Fine! Qrow! Greez!"

A Friendship with the Team quickly Blossoms! As Y/n learns that with STRQ the 5 are an even better team then they are with just the four of them!

The School Year continues on quite normally. It should be boring, but thanks to the Gang's Antics, along with Qrow's Semblance, the group get into a mass of wacky adventures where they need to use their skills and quick wit to save their friends and themselves!

But, all the while, our favorite Big Shot lurks in the shadows of Vale, gathering more Purple Crystals from around the world of remnant, and after gaining 5 of them, he gains a terrifying new power. The ability to control and use a Dark and Mighty power known as Negative Magic! Big Shot then hands a drained Crystal Shard to one of his men, imbues them with a weaker version of his own magical powers, and sends them off to find and Kill Y/n, saying that once he's dead, the powers he absorbed from the crystal he stole with return the the shard he had given them.

So! We finally have our Conflict!

As the story goes on, Y/n realizes that he's being hunted down by this mysterious organization of people wielding odd and intense powers, and accidently drags his new friends into this newfound predicament, But thanks to their Friendship Team STRQ are more than happy to help their friend.

While trying their best to keep up with school while also fighting against Big Shot's Organization, the group finally learns of the Origin and Usage of the Crystals they are after as the organization steals one right out from under our heroes.

They learn that the Crystals are Shards of power from the Old 2 Gods who left the land of Remnant long ago, and simply holding one will allow the user to be imbued with their almighty power. They also learn that thanks to Y/n absorbing the power of the Golden Crystal, he holds the opposite magic of Big Shot and is the only person in the world with enough power to stop the evil man from destroying the world as we know it.

As this is explained, we see the Big Shot with 7 of the 10 Purple Crystals, learning that he has gained the power to control the creatures of Grimm, making them all the more dangerous as he empowers them.

Knowing that they can't stop Big Shot from gaining Godlike power and ruling the world from the comfort of Beacon, the group gather their things and decide to abandon their comfortable life and head out into the world to stop Big Shot once and for all.

Now, a race against time starts as our heroes and our villains journey around the world searching for the Gold and Purple Crystals, the Villains keeping the Golden Crystals away while searching for the last of the Purple once, while Y/n & STRQ hunt for more Golden Crystals and keep the Purple ones away from Big Shot and his men.

The Five Of them Raise a flag and proclaim themselves a brand new team, swearing that they'll do everything they can to save this world, before heading off on their own.

The group travels the world from town to town, kingdom to kingdom! Searching for the different crystals and getting into battles with dangerous enemies and even more dangerous Grimm. All the while, making friends with a mass of allies along the way. Until finally, They stand before the final battle.

Big Shot, now holding all of the Dark God Crystals, or God's Souls as they are officially referred to, Big Shot hunts down Y/n and STRQ beginning the final war like battle against the Teens as they have been empowered by the Powers of Y/n's own God's Soul, sending their Semblance to new heights, enhancing their powers to unbelievable heights! But, it's an Uphill Battle, as while Big Shot holds all of the Dark God's Souls, Y/n lacks all of the Light God's Souls making him much weaker than his rival, but Y/n and Friends fight on anyway!

As the battle continues, all of Big Shot's allies fall, the man makes a desperate play. Big Shot takes all of the Grimm nearby, an entire army's worth, and absorbs them into himself, including one of the very few and immensely powerful Grimm Dragons! Transforming Big Shot into a beyond massive Grimm Hybrid Monster Man with a mass of immense power.

Refusing to give up, our team of heroes attack and fight back against Big Shot, Now turned Massive Shot. The fight is hard and seemingly impossible, but our heroes refuse to give up, combining all of their skills and powers into one final attack!

Tai Yang, using his immense strength and new flame powers, launches Y/n into the air, surrounding him in a mass of flames as he rockets through the air towards Massive Shot's head. But Massive Shot wastes no time, retaliating with a massive blast of Dark Magic Power, before Y/n can even reel back his weapon, the blast is suddenly cut by an X Shape, one side of the slash being silver while the other is Crimson, only to reveal Summer and Raven at Y/n's sides.

Summer using the power of her Rose Petal Semblance along with her God's Soul enhanced Silver Eyes to fly while empowering herself, easily hacking and slashing through the incoming attacks, while Raven, using her God's Soul enhanced Semblance to create a portal the exact size of her body is able to fly through the air via constant teleportation, using her sword to hack and slash through the incoming attacks just like Summer. The two of them create an open path for Y/n, when suddenly Summer gets Swatted away by something, distracting Raven long enough to get blasted away as well.

Massive Shot, with several more massive arms, prepares to punch Y/n into oblivion, only for Y/n to be shocked as he sees Qrow running up the side of Massive Shot's body, his God's Soul enhanced Semblance allowing him to not just control bad luck around, but alter all probability around him in general. Making his own luck a 100% chance with his next actions, Qrow rushed forwards and quickly jumped, flying through the air with a mass of speed and power, easily jetting around and hacking the incoming arms to pieces, but in doing so, his luck swings in the opposite way, causing him to be easily knocked to the ground, leaving Y/n on his own once again, but Massive Shot isn't don't just yet!

Suddenly, summoning a mass of Grimm from his body he sends them to attack Y/n, but Y/n can only kill so many of them on his own, before all of his friends combine their skills, Raven summoning a mass of portals allowing Tai to launch a barrage of flaming attacks through them, all the while, Raven, Qrow and Summer rush out of those portals aswell, taking down hundreds of Grimm together. Then in their final moment, Raven summons a portal infront of Y/n, teleporting him right above Massive Shot.

Massive Shot then prepares a beyond massive blast of dark magic, launching it at Y/n, but Y/n raises his Broad Sword and surrounds it with a mass of Golden Magic, making the Blade 20 Times its own size! Then slamming the blade down onto Massive Shot, the two clash attacks, causing a mass of Gold and Purple to paint the sky!

This struggle is a losing one. As Y/n lacks the God's Souls to keep up with Massive Shot's own power, slowly being overpowered by the Dark God.

In his final moments, Y/n's eyes widen as a portal opens behind him and 4 Rose Petals of different color fall out, quickly remembering the true power of Summer's Semblance, To Collect And Share Powers With Others Via Her Rose Petals!

Grabbing the petals, the power inside of them is unleashed as the combined abilities of all four of his friends are unleashed inside of him and combine with his God's Soul Magic! Causing his sword to grow 100 Times in size as his eyes unleash a bright silver blaze!

AND THEN!!!!

In a single slash, Massive Shot is slashed clean in half, destroying his form as he slowly disappears in a mass of Golden Sparkles, not even letting out a Scream of defeat as he dies. As Y/n falls, he is quickly caught by his friends, the team of 5 quickly begins to celebrate as the day is won. The team party their hearts out as the Dark God's Soul Crystals shatter and their dark power radiates out of Massive Shot and into the sky.

In the end, our heroes travel back to Beacon in victory, fully expecting to be reprimanded or even expelled for their actions, only to be shocked even more upon meeting with Ozpin, the two are slightly scolded, but in the end… are accepted back into the school… Ozpin expresses that School won't really teach them much anymore, as they have more experience than real hunters after their little journey, with their final surprise being Full Hunter's Licenses.

The group are beyond shocked and happy as it seems that Ozpin, being the nosy fucker he is, had kept a close eye on their long journey.

The next 3 years of school are more or less just a formality for the teens as they work as Hunters for the Kingdom Of Vale.

In the very end, things are changed quite a bit.

Keeping the spirit of the original RWBY and all of the Fanfics spawned on this site.

Y/n ends up with both Raven and Summer, being the progenitor of Yang and Ruby.

Yang, being named after Tai thanks to he and Y/n's intense brotherhood, doesn't hold Blonde hair and purple eyes like in the original, now looking a lot more like her mom with Black hair and Scarlet eyes, BUT! Thanks to being the Child of Y/n, who now has all of the Light God's Souls absorbed into himself, Yang has been infused with a mass of God's Souls herself, causing her hair to go a bright golden blonde when using her Magic Powers, as a nod to her original design.

Ruby is more or less the same as the original series, although she lacks God's Soul unlike her older sister.

Tai actually hooks up with a lady he met and took a liking to during the team's journey to stop Big Shot, becoming the father of what we know as the Arc Family, with Jaune still lacking training thanks to his father's focus on all his daughters, but now holding a Small amount of God's Soul power thanks to Tai being infused with it.

Summer's still alive!

Raven doesn't leave the family thanks to the existence of God's Soul.

And Qrow… doesn't change all that much, but is A LOT more powerful now thanks to his new powers…

But… all the while…

Big Shot is seen Awakening from a pool of pitch black liquid, his form a corrupted form looking like a Human Grimm Hybrid, only to come face to face with Salem who makes Big Show her new Half Grimm Soldier.

The story ends with Y/n seeing off his daughters as they head towards their new life at Beacon Academy, all the while, the demonic eyes of Salem watching their every step.

And that's how I would make a RWBY story and completely and utterly alter the Plot of Base RWBY!

A Prequel to a RWBY Story I would never make even if I do make this story!
