HEY!

I was originally just gonna make this a Post on my conversations thing, but decided to just make it a full blown chapter here and it ended up being way longer than I thought...

SO! For those who don't know, lemme give you a little backstory!

When I wrote that Kamen Rider XenoBlade OneShot thing, I was Watching Chuggaconroy Let's Play the game and hadn't finished it yet... and as you can probably tell... I have some Choice Words about Rex and Pyra as charaters... choice meaning I don't like either of them at all. Especially Rex, as ironic as that sounds... I'm not done with the LP Yet, as it's 200 episodes long... But I did have an idea.

《The Main Problem》

This entire story idea has been hinging on the fact of how much I like the Game's Story Progression and well... how much I'm willing to put up with Rex...

One day I realized that if I did make this story it would just be: Y/n following Rex and party as they progress the story, with me finding it progressively harder and harder to Rewrite Rex as an actual character and make him interesting, while Juggling all the Actual Good characters (which is basically everyone but Rex) into the plot and having them mingle with Y/n, while also having to juggle Y/n's own Subplot going on with the Undead into the main plot of Rex wanting to bone his swords...

and when I realized this, I kinda gave up all hopes of making KR XenoBlade into an actual story...

I got to the beginning of chapter Seven and saw the Choice between Mythra and Pyra and was hoping oh so bad for Chugga to pick Mythra, (because she has an actual character) only to be so much more disappointed when He picked Pyra... and even more disappointed with Rex's lines afterwards... so I dropped the let's play for a bit... and decided to rewatch something I enjoyed a hellova lot more...

《Chrono Trigger》

And as soon as I pressed play on the first episode, I was hit with that Creative Magic! My Brain Exploded with Ideas for a Chrono Trigger X Kamen Rider Male Reader Story! Turning a Game with so much Character Charm and Time Travel into a badass Fan Fic! Making my own character, giving Crono a voice, adding my own Time Period for Y/n to come from with it's own Problems people and puzzles to solve! Altering some much more of the game and having all the fun in the world taking an already existing story and making it a brand new experience for everyone to enjoy!

From what I've seen so far:
(the beginning of Chapter 7)
[And Please Feel free to correct me on anything I say here about Rex, because I wanna like him... BUT!]

Rex... has no core Character Traits other than Optimistic Slavager turned Ultra Important Destiny Driver... and the story suffers from a Subplot of his Misunderstanding and Mistreating Pyra's feeling... despite Pyra not saying literally anything about her feeling for Rex to Misunderstand or Mistreat...

Everyone compares him to a Generic Shonen Protagonist... but in reality I think he's less than that... Even Goku, Naruto or Luffy, the names I think of when I hear the word Shonen, develop more and have much deeper character traits then Rex has despite me watching a 100% Let's Play for the past few months.

In the end I end up feeling bad for Prya, Mythra, Tora, Poppi, Morag, Brigid, Zeke, Pandoria, Dromark, and especially Nia

"I Like all these characters but him, and this story had so much potential that squandered behind such a Weak Protagonist who didn't even really earn the True Power of Pyra & Mythra... a Protagonist who hasn't grown or changed at all despite the fate of the entire world being on his back... a Kid who says he's changed or made a decision... when in reality nothing's changed... when in reality, I could just be rewatching Wakfu! Where a kid even younger with the same stakes on his back changes and grows way more in less time!"

I thought to myself in distress as I forced myself to continue this let's play...

"I Wish I was in an alternate timeline! One where Rex actually had a good character and for some reason everyone hated him for it... I wish things were different..."

I dramatized a bit... as before I slapped the Space Bar uncaringly letting the Chugga'a great voice speak once again...

Chugga: "I believe this is the choice Rex would make."

"....."

And That's When It Hit Me...

When watching Chrono Trigger, I wanted to change crucial parts of the game to make a story a new and fun experience for everyone... I was even willing to change the main character...

When I make a story...
I have to choose what happens...

But in that same vein...
I have to choose what doesn't happen...

《The Main Solution》

*CLAP!*

Ok! So as you could probably tell from my dramatic Demon King Rantings.

I plan on Removing Rex entirely from Kamen Rider XenoBlade 2 if I ever make that story.

WHY!?
YOU ASK BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T READ WHAT I WROTE EARLIER FOR NO REASON!

Because he is the actual Only Thing I dislike about this game, and what I see as the sole thing bringing down the entire experience of enjoying Xenoblade 2.

It's like if you played a game and saw there was a stupid section of the game that completely killed all enjoyment you had when Previously playing.
That's the main Protagonist.

I! Am going to completely remove Rex from the Story, and replace him with the boy himself, Y/n!

Now... this brings up a few issues in it's own conception...

《Y/n > Rex problems》

If you read the little Idea-Shot I made earlier on this idea! You'll know that:

Y/n is a Human Salvager Boy who made a promise to a girl when they last saw eachother as children, to both become the strongest drivers with unique blades... but in trying to keep this promise... Y/n found a Golden Core Crystal, and ended up fusing with it, turning himself into an Odd Driver Special Blade Hybrid known as an Undead.

Now, this would cause a bit of a problems with a few things involving the beginning of Xenoblade 2...

[Problem 1: Pyra and Mythra]

[Who would become the Aeigs' Driver?]

Why, isn't it obvious? Y/N OFCOURSE!
Ok, I know it isn't that simple.

If you don't know, at the beginning of the Game, Pyra is sealed away in an Ancient Ship, and the only kind of person able to access her is a Leftherian from the Leftherian Archipelago Titans... Why Leftherians Specifically? IT'S NEVER EXPLAINED!

Y/n is from the Titan Gormott, which makes him Gormotti despite him not having the Cat Ears like other Gormotti...

So! Here's the Solution!

I tried to make it obvious in the One-Shot, but Y/n is an Orphan, and I could either make it so that Y/n's parents are Leftherian, making him Leftherian, and they left him in Gormott for some reason, which is one hellova Cliché...

OR! I could just make it so that This extremely Random As Fuck thing doesn't matter at all! Why? Because it never gets explained why the Ancient Ship needed Specifically a Leftherian to open Pyra's Chamber!

If you change it so that you need a Human to open the door to Pyra's chamber, then everything works just as fine.

[Problem 2: Gramps]

[Plot Convince The Character]

... You wanna know something kinda funny...

I realized that you could completely write Gramps out of the game, and change like 2 Plot Convinces, and everything would work out the exact same way...

So I might write him out of the story completely...

But I'm willing to take some ideas, what do you bois and gals want me to do with the Tiny Baby Old Man that's only there for Plot Convince?

[Problem 3: Nia...]

[Cucked by a sword who isn't even half as good...]

[Romance In General]

If you played Xenoblade 2... you may know the famous scene that literally everyone hates...
To hide Spoilers! I shall write it out with little context!

《Scene》

Surrounded by a mass of empowered Shadowy Figures, wielding familiar almighty Blades, they hack and slash at the party, and one by one are easily knocked away, close to being felled by the Shadows... in a moment of weakness and self reflection, Nia makes a choice, unleashing her true power, she rushes in, slashing the Shadows away and saving everyone... in that moment, she turns back towards Rex who lays on the ground, kneeling down towards the Plank Of Wood as a mass of music and voice acting that doesn't fit the scene played in the background.

Nia: "Thank you for helping me see... I love you Rex."

Rex: "... Wha-?"

Another mass of shadows then appear, charging forwards, but Nia as ready as ever, rushed forwards summoning a sword into her own hands. Slashing forwards, a wave of water easily dispells the enemies. More Shadows spawn, as everyone struggles to fight against the growing army... then exhausted from her lack of power, Nia falls to her knees, closing her eyes as the shadow strikes down at her...

*SLASHING!*

Nia then looked up, only to see the shadows dispelled as Rex stood there, twin scythes in hand.

Nia: "Rex!"

Rex: "Nia, I love you too!"

Nia: "..."

Rex: "I love you! And all you guys! So... Let's do this! Together!"

Nia: "*Cucked Silence.*"

《End Scene》

Yeah... and don't bring up the whole After Combat Conversation between those two about this... it just one of that game's biggest copes...

Anyway!

As I stated in the Idea-Shot, I originally wanted to Ship Y/n and Morag together, as the two are childhood friends and it's cute... but having Y/n replace Rex... causes a few problems with shipping... BUT! They can all be solved with one Extremely Easy thing Xenoblade 2 Generally Lacks thanks to it's general Hornyness!

Subtlety! And actual shipping character dynamics...

Ever Heard of Love Triangles?

Y/n×Morag

Y/n obviously has a thing for Morag since childhood, but due to how much she's changed over the years, he isn't as gung-ho about sharing his feelings with her, but those feelings are buried even further down by his everlasting importance on Keeping his promises.

Morag, shares the same feelings for Y/n since childhood... but due to the importance of her position and the state of the world... she also holds them back, much to her own pain...

Pyra & Mythra × Y/n
*few moments of silence as I contemplate even doing this ship...*
Yeah, fine, sure.

Pyra & Mythra also have feelings for Y/n for reasons other than just him reminding rhem of Addam and being Nice.

Unlike Rex, obviously sharing these feelings and nothing happening for Forced relationship conflict, Y/n doesn't share Pyra & Mythra's feelings at all. More seeing the two as Coworkers or close friends forging towards a single shared goal, although his feeling towards the two MIGHT slowly grow as the adventure goes on.

Nia × Y/n

Much like with Rex, Nia grows feeling for Y/n as the adventure goes on, but unlike with Rex, who completely dashes these feelings, Y/n somewhat shares them. Through their adventures and growing to know Nia, Y/n slowly grows feelings for her aswell... but sadly they're extremely conflicting with his feelings for Morag...

That aside! Romance in general is more of an after thought for Y/n, as he focuses on 2 main things, Sealing The Undead & Getting to Elysium.

《Problem 4: Fonsett Village》

《Rex Personal Story Beats》

Rex's parents are dead. That is not a big surprise WHATSOEVER. He was raised in Fonsett village after they had died running away from something... what were they running from and why?

IT NEVER GET'S EXPLAINED!

But that brings up the fact... how am I going to fix Rex's Personal Story Beats for Y/n's?... and then you realize it isn't really a problem at all as Rex doesn't have any personal Story Beats...

His backstory is over and done with in 1 Cutscene that's like 2 or 3 minutes long...

I can just have them go to Fonsett because the person who Raised Y/n lives there now! AND BOOM! Story Beat Fixed!

The fact that it's so easy to completely replace Rex in the story and have it still flow so easily in my head annoys me so much...

And with that... that fixes all the problems I can think of as of Chapter 7...

If you can think of anything Please Bring it up, because as more and more problems I have with this game arise, the more I wanna fix it with my own story.

Oh, and I saw it, A LOT of you wanted to see me write this story... so I think I might just do it!

Although I do have to finish this let's play first... I'm only on episode 104 of 221... and the main story ends on 181... and a lot of these episodes are 30-40 minutes long...
