A Large Black Slab was seen standing ontop of a cliff… the slab twisted in an unnatural manner… shining better than the highest quality obsidian… the Stone Stood there… an odd and yet extremely powerful aura surrounding it… everything was silent around the odd slab… be the endless cries of an odd creature were easily heard whispering from the odd being…

Below the Slab and the cliff it sat on… a mass of odd humanoid creatures were seen bowing down towards the Slab… in total there were 52 of them… most of them covered in some sort of blood… as the corpses of other humanoid creatures sat around the field…

The 52 Bowing towards the Black Slab all wore Odd Belts around their waists, all of them featuring the odd symbol of ouroboros in the center…

The 52 Creatues all stood in four distinct lines led by 4 different creatures who were all seemingly covered in the most blood, and held the most battle scars…

The First Line was led by a Hercules Beetle…
The Second Line By a Stag Beetle… 
The Third Line By a Mantis…
The Fourth Line By a Spider…

Standing directly behind those four were extremely similar, yet slightly different figures… all of them wearing gold in some shape or form…

But as the line led by the Mantis went down… a single figure catches our eye…

A Human Man…

He wore primitive clothing, and was seemingly covered in a mass of blood and scars much like the figures standing at the front of the line… the same odd belt around his waist much like all the other undead… a look of determination in his eyes…

An odd screeching whisper was heard echoing from the Black Slab all across the land, washing over all the odd creatures… one by one… the creatures stood up, menacing aura surrounding all of them, as one by one, they summoned Blood Covered Weapons, brandished their claws and fangs… all of them seemingly waiting as the Sun was slowly eclipsed by the moon…

Once the Sun was fully Eclipsed… roaring was heard from the 52 Creatures… before the sound of weapons swinging, claws slashing and fangs biting through flesh as blood was splattered… the district sound of a mass of figures hunting, attacking, and killing eachother in a massive bloodbath…

The Sun was seen still eclipsed… but as the camera panned back down… a mass of corpses of the different 51 Creatures were seen littering the ground, the center of their belts split open revealing different symbols and numbers… but as 51 Corpses covered the ground… a single figure walked forwards through the bodies… a primitive sword in hand and blood covering their body, as the stood under the cliff where the Black Slab loaded over…

The Human Man was the last one of the 52 Creatures Standing…

The Man Bowed towards the Black Slab… stabbing his sword into the ground beside himself as the eclipse slowly ended…

The Human then raised his head… and began to speak… Although his mouth moved, we could hear no words as he seemingly made a wish to the Black Slab…

After he had finished speaking, the man's belt shattered open just like all the other fallen creatures… before he fell to the ground face first… now dead like all the others… 

All the while, the Black Slab shined with an odd and powerful light, spreading that light across all of the land of earth…

Years then began to pass in seconds.

Humans rose to the top of the world, creating great civilizations and structures, technology surpassing itself over and over again… machines surpassed nature… and Metal Towered High Into the Depressed gray sky…

All this happened as the Black Slab stood on its cliff, unbothered as the world continued under its odd watch… until one day… when the world had been reduced to a lifeless metal husk… a Blonde Haired man wearing a lab coat approached the Black Slab… a smile appeared on his face as he laid his eyes on the odd being… 
A menacing smile reeking of excitement, reeking of advancement filling the Man's Face…

"... That dream again… everytime I come down here… I keep having that dream…"

Inside of a deep dark mass of blue, covered in odd coral and broken ancient machine junk… a boy was seen laying there, as odd fish like creatures swam by him… the boy had his hands behind his head as he laid his back on the edge of a coral reef, his eyes closed as fish swam up to him in curiosity, only to calmly swim away as the boy laid there, unmoving, frozen like a statue…

"... That War of monsters… that Black slab… that odd dead world of machinery… that weird man at the end… I wonder… what does that dream mean…?"

*Gleam~*

Suddenly, the red haired boy's eyes shot open, as something odd shined in the distance. The boy then smiled as he quickly flipped himself around, floating a bit as he did, quickly scaring away any fish that were investigating his body. The boy watched closely, staring at where the gleam came from, shifting his head to the left and right slightly… Until the odd Light Shined in the distance once again, quickly causing the boy to grow a giant smile. Grabbing the edge of the Coral he was resting on, the boy then launched himself off through the water, rocketing through the dark blue much like a fish, swimming around it with ease. The boy landed on and hopped off of different coral structures, quickly making his way towards the golden light, until he had finally arrived.

The boy's smile only grew as he looked down at a small wreckage, inside a golden chest shining happily in the light. The boy then pulled an odd handle like device out of his back pocket before he began swimming down towards the golden chest. Once the boy got down towards the chest, he slapped the odd device down onto the Golden Chest, causing it to latch onto the top of the chest, keeping itself in place. The boy then gripped the handle, tugging it a bit to make sure it was secure, but once it was, The boy tugged and tried to swim upwards… only to not move at all. The boy tried his best to yank the chest up, only for him to fail to bring it up over and over again… The boy then looked down at the chest's bottom, only to see something odd latching onto its bottom… Annoyed, the boy quickly kicked the bottom of the chest several times, before the thing holding onto it fell off, quickly freeing the chest from the wreckage.

With the golden chest in hand, the boy began swimming up towards the surface, as he did and the light above slowly got brighter and brighter, the boy then stopped and began looking around, only to see several hooks dangling down into the water from above, several of them having chests with handles attached to them already hooked onto the hooks. The boy continued looking around until he found an empty hook, quickly swimming over to it and attacking the handle of the golden chest onto the hook, tugging on the chest a bit to make sure it was secured onto the hook, before he quickly began swimming up towards the surface once again, going faster and faster and faster, until he suddenly got very close to the surface, causing him to quickly pull out an small Grapple Hook gun and shoot it out the water… causing him to quickly get dragged out of the water way faster than before, until.

*SPLASH!*

*FWOOO-*

*THOOM!*

Suddenly, the boy was flung out of the water and into the air, causing him to spin around before he came rocketing down, landing on the metal deck of a ship… causing the boy's form to be fully revealed.

"WHA! HA! HA! HA! HAAAA! 
SALVAGING TURNS A NORMAL DAY INTO A FESTIVAL! 
MATSURIDA! MATSURIDA! 
WHA! HA! HA! HA! HAAAA!!!!"

[Y/n Wukong]

[Y/n's Theme]

Y/n continued laughing loudly, fists on his hips and a proud look on his face… all the while, 2 Men, 1 cat eared man known as a Gormotti, and a living furball with Wing Ear Hands called a Nopon, who worked as the ship's crew were seen staring at Y/n in a mass of shock, awe and confusion… as if they had just seen a ghost shoot out of the sea below. Y/n then stopped laughing and saw the looks he was getting from the other crew members, causing him to tilt his head in confusion.

Y/n: "Eh? What're you guys looking at me like that for? GET EXCITED! LIFE IS A FESTIVAL! ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU BRING UP TONS OF SALVAGE!"

Y/n yelled happily as he got ready to start laughing again… only for one of the crew members to stop him.

Humam Crew 1: "Ho-How are you alive!?"

Y/n: "Eh? What do you mean?"

Nopon Crew: "Y/n was under the Cloud Sea for over an Hour!"

Gormotti Crew: "Nobody can hold their breath that long! Especially not under the Cloud Sea!"

Human Crew 2: "You should totally be dead! How the hell did you survive for that long!?"

Y/n: "Eh? You guys are surprised about that? HA! THAT WASN'T EVEN ME AT MY BEST! IF I REALLY WANTED, I COULD HAVE STAYED UNDER THERE FOR ANOTHER 30 MINUTES!"

Crew Members: "WHAT!?"

Nopon crew: "T-That's not possible…"

Gormotti crew: "Not even Urayans can pull off something that crazy…"

Human Crew 1: "Yeah! You must be lying!"

Human Crew 2: "Tell the truth, how'd you pull that off kid!"

Hearing this shocked Y/n a bit as he quickly grew an annoyed expression.

Y/n: "I'm Not Lying! I can really hold my breath under the Cloud Sea for over 1 hour! I Promise!"

Y/n said as he punched forwards, holding out his fist towards the crew members… causing them to all scoff at the boy.

"I wouldn't underestimate the kid if I were you!"

A deep and manly Scottish voice suddenly spoke out, causing all the crew members to jump as they turned, watching as a new figure appeared.

"I've seen it myself, the kid can really pull off some crazy things in that water, even without a Salvager Suit. Because when it comes to a promise, Y/n'll keep it."

[Rumond]
[Y/n calls him Pops]

Rumond: "Even if It ends up killin him. So I wouldn't go underestimatin the kid if I were you! GOT IT!?"

Crewmembers: "Y-YES SIR! CAPTAIN RUMOND SIR!"

Rumond: "Good! Now what're ya idiots slackin around for? GET TO CRANKIN THE CRAINS ALREADY! WE'RE GOT HOOKS FULL OF SALVAGE DOWN THERE!"

Crewmembers: "YE-YES SIR!"

Nopon Crew: "MEH-MEH!"

The different Crewmembers yelled in panic as they quickly ran off to different parts of the ship, causing Y/n to stand there proudly as Rumond walked over to him, but as he did. Y/n quickly regrowing his annoyed expression.

Y/n: "Tch! You didn't need to defend me, I had it handed pops!"

Rumond: "Handled? PAHHAA! I've seen a Krabble handle a situation better than that! PAHHAAA!"

Rumond laughed heartily while Y/n scoffed and walked off towards the edge of the ship, looking out at the sea below. The milky white and fluffy clouds of the cloud sea was revealed, as odd fish jumped in and out of the cloudlike ocean. All the while, the ship that Y/n was standing on began moving, revealing its odd gray tail and flippers hidden under the clouds and metal, revealing that the ship was alive… Looking out at the distance, Y/n revealed the world of Alrest.

A Sea of Clouds Below, with massive beings known as Titans Parading through it like continents that the different people of this world lived in and ontop of, with a massive World Tree in the center of the cloud sea and this world. Many people of this world used Smaller Titans as ships to traverse the Cloud Sea, living in harmony with the people of this world.

Y/n stared out into the distance with a smile, the World Tree in the far distance as another titan swam past. As Y/n stared out at the distance, Rumond walked up next to the boy with a smile of his own.

Rumond: "Heh, I can never get enough of Views like these… although, it hurts me a bit knowing that these seas will start becoming empty in the coming years."

Rumond said, causing Y/n to perk up in confusion.

Y/n: "Eh? What do you mean by that?"

Rumond: "You don't know? Huh, maybe that yelling and Festival Talk's started making you go deaf! PAHHAA!"

Y/n: "Well that laugh of yours ain't helping much either!"

Rumond: "Heh! Well played."

Y/n: "What do you mean by that though, the Sea Becoming Empty?"

Rumond: "Ah… well… the Titans… they've been starting to Die out as of late… It's been slow, but it's noticeable. In the coming years, we're gonna start running out of land to live on."

Y/n: "Hmm… That kinda sucks!"

Y/n says nonchalantly as he places his hands behind his head and starts walking off, much to Rumond's surprise.

Rumond: "Huh? Aren't you shocked by that news at all? Isn't it kinda, earth shattering?"

Y/n: "Ehhh, Life's Life. Things are born, and then they die, same goes for titans. That's just how the world works."

Hearing this shocked Rumond again, before the man smiled and began laughing.

Rumond: "PHAHAHAAA!!! Man! I've known you for how many years now and you still manage to surprise me? You're one hellova kid, you know that?"

Y/n: "Hehe! I am pretty great, aren't I?"

Rumond: "Oi! Don't get cocky!"

Y/n: "You praised me first! I was just agreeing!"

Y/n said, causing the both of them to chuckle before Rumond grew curious.

Rumond: "So, if you don't care about the titans dying, then what do you care about kiddo?"

Rumond asked, but Y/n didn't waste a second with his response, quickly turning towards the older man with a smile.

Y/n: "Keeping My Promises!"

Rumond: "Hah?"

Y/n: "Keeping Promises Is What Makes A Man A Man!... There is nothing more important to me in this world than keeping the promises I make to people, so no matter what happens, even if all the titans in this world die out, I'm gonna keep every promise I make, no matter what!"

Rumond: "... So if you promised me to jump off the highest cliff in all of alrest?"

Y/n: "I'd jump off the cliff as soon as I saw it!"

Rumond: "PAHAHAAA! YOU'RE COMPLETELY INSANE!"

Y/n: "OI! I'M NOT CRAZY! I'M A LIVING FESTIVAL! WHA! HA! HAAAA! MATSURIDA! MATSURIDA!"

The two of them laughed together, happily on the back of their titan ship together… but that happy aura would last all too long.

*CCCRRRAAASSSHHH!!!*

"WWWHHHAAAA!!!"
"ME-ME-MMMEEEHHH!!!"

Suddenly, a large metal crate was sent flying over the top of the ship, landing in the cloud sea behind Y/n and Rumond, as familiar screams were heard.

Y/n: "What was that!?"

Rumond: "Ah, that must have been the crew. Looks like we've got another Ambush."

Y/n: "Ambush?"

Y/n in a bit of panic while Rumond stayed calm. All the while, a door into the ship flew open as the different crewmembers flooded out onto the deck with Y/n and Rumond… only the Nopon wasn't with them. The crew then quickly closed locked and began blocking off the door in a quick panic.

Rumond: "Oi! What's goin on over there!?"

Gormotti Crew: "S-SIR! IT'S AN AMBUSH!!"

Rumond: "I got that much! We're Salvagers! We should be used to crap like this by now! So what's all the rushin around for!?"

Human Crew 1: "I-It's Not a normal Ambush S-Sir!"

Human Crew 2: "I-It's a Big One! A UNIQUE AMBUSH!"

Hearing this made Rumond's eyes go wide, as Y/n looked between the captain and the crew with a mass of confusion.

Y/n: "Oi! Oi! The hell's an ambush!? What's going on!?"

*CLANG!*

Suddenly the metal door leading inside of the ship dented as something rammed into it from the inside, quickly causing everyone but Rumond to jump.

Rumond: "When Salvaging, Salvagers sometimes pick up shiny loot, but that loot has usually already been claimed by monsters who like shiny things too. Usually when a monster loses their Treasure to a Salvager, they leave it behind and go about their life."

*CLANG!*

Rumond: "But when a Monster is real angry about its stuff gettin jacked, they hunt it down, and fight for their lives just to get that treasure back."

Y/n: "So an ambush is just a monster attack?"

Rumond: "Aye, but a Unique Ambush is different… that ain't no normal monster behind those doors."

*CCLLAANNGG!!!*

Human crew 2: "C-CAPTAIN! IT'S ABOUT TO BREAK THROUGH!"

Gormotti crew: "WHAT DO WE DO!?"

Rumond: "Unique Ambushes are when Powerful Beasts hunt down their treasure… Beasts so strong they've killed Drivers, and have gotten names for themselves."

*BBBBBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM!!!*

"GGGGGGRRRRRRRAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!"

The Crew Members quickly ran away from Metal door, before it was suddenly slammed and burst open, quickly revealing a massive monster with a rageful aura around its as it roared loudly.

"GGGGAAAAAGURURURURUR!!!"

Y/n: "A-A ZamGaruGu!? B-But they usually live in the colder parts of the Cloud Sea! Not all the way over here in the tropics!"

Rumond: "WHAHAHAHAA! AND THAT'S WHAT MAKES THIS BAD BOY SPECIAL! So this is the Terror of the West Cloud! The Unique ZamGaruGu! THE GREAT ACCEPTABLE DENNIS!"

Y/n: "Holy cra-... Wait, its name is Dennis?"

Rumond: "The name doesn't matter! All that does matter is His Power!"

Rumond said in excitement as he threw his arm out to the side.

Rumond: "VIRIBUS! GET YOUR ASS OUT HERE!"

*SPLASH!!!*

Suddenly, a figure jumped out of the cloud sea and flew into the air, before it suddenly crashed down infront of Rumond on the ship, revealing their odd form.

"Hmph. You should have called me sooner. I was getting bored of counting the fish."

Rumond: "You were supposed to be keeping lookout for Monsters, Not counting fish."

Viribus: "Eh, same thing, ain't it?"

Rumond: "GUESS YOU'RE RIGHT! PHAHAHAAAA!!!"

Rumond laughed happily as the small girl with massive metal arms stood by his side, all the while Y/n watched in awe.

Y/n Thoughts: "That's Pops Blade, Viribus… No way! Am I actually gonna get to see Pops fight!?"

Y/n thought to himself in excitement as Viribus disconnected her giant metal arms and threw them into the air, causing them to quickly latch onto Rumond's arms as he got into a battle ready position, posing like a MMA fighter.

Viribus: "Let's teach this overgrown fish who's boss."

Rumond: "You Know It!"

Y/n: "YEAH! LET'S KICK THIS SHARK'S ASS!"

Y/n suddenly yelled, pulled the sword off his back and got ready to fight… but…

Viribus: "Hmph, back off kid, leave this to the Driver, you'll just get in the way."

Rumond: "Now hold on a second. You sure you wanna take on a Unique Monster Kiddo?"

[MAN DOES THIS SONG GOOD BUT HAVE ONE HORRIBLE NAME!]

Y/n: "Hell Yeah! I didn't waste years of my life studying and kicking Driver and Monster ass just to run away when some shitty shark named Dennis shows up! I'M GONNA FIGHT!"

Rumond: "PAHAHA! Alright kiddo! Get ready! It's time for your first real lesson as a Junior Driver! YOU READY?"

Y/n: "Fighting Turns a Normal Day Into a Festival!"

Y/n quickly rushed onto the scene, jumping up and quickly attacking Dennis by rushing past the shark and slashing it, using his Opening Battle Art: "It's A Festival! A Festival!" Instantly inflicting the Status effect  <Break> on the Unique ZamGaruGu.

Rumond: "HAHA! NICE GOIN THERE KIDDO! Looks like you did learn a thing or too from Those Half-baked Drivers! NOW LEMME SHOW YOU A REAL ART!"

🥊"GUILTY! STRIVE!!!"🥊

*FWOOO-BBBBLLLLAAAAMMMM!!!!*

On its own, the Break Status effect doesn't do much, but when combined with other Arts, it's one of the strongest statuses out there! 

Rumond quickly rushed forwards, using his Giga Arms to uppercut Dennis and easily flip the Shark On it's back using the Break Status to inflict <Topple!>, all thanks to his Opening Art, "Guilty Strive".

Y/n: "HEH! NICE ONE POPS! NOT CHECK THIS!"

Y/n roared as he jumped up and raised his sword above his head, ready to slammit down onto Dennis' Exposed Stomach.

*BOING!*

Y/n: "WHAT!?"

Y/n went to stab the Shark, only for Dennis to suddenly inflate his stomach like a balloon, causing Y/n's blade to bounce right off, but that wasn't all, as Dennis quickly broke his Toppled Status, spinning around and hopping right back onto its feet, but as soon as it did this, it continued spinning, easily slamming Y/n with it's ice tail and sending the boy flying back while Rumond blocked the attack with his Giga Arms.

Rumond: "PAHAHAA! You ok there kiddo? You took one hellova blow there!"

Viribus: "Pah, he really is a amateur. That kid's gonna die."

Rumond: "HE JUST MIGHT! PAHAHAA!"

*CLANG!*

Rumond launched as Dennis tried to slam him with one of his claws, but Viribus quickly jumped infront of her driver and summoned a shield blocking the attack. All the while, Y/n slowly got back to his feet…

Y/n: "This fight… it's way out of my league… NOW THIS IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT! MATSURI! MATSURI! MATSURI! MATSURIDAAAA!!!!"

Y/n roared in a mass of excitement before he quickly rushed at Dennis once again. Dennis saw Y/n coming and quickly swapped his attention to the boy. The Shark tried to rush forwards and swallow Y/n whole, but the red haired boy easily jumped over the charging shark, and as he fell, he raised his sword high above his head.

*GLASH!!!*

Dennis: "GARURURURURURR!!!"

Y/n: "HAHA! HOW YA LIKE THAT!"

As Y/n fell, he slashed his sword with all his might, his momentum perfectly mixed with his sword slash as he rolled his entire body into the attack, easily cutting off the ZamGaruGu's tail in a single slash. 

💢Dennis: "GARRRUURURURUURUR!!!"

Dennis roared in pain and a newfound mass of rage, entering an enraged state as all of it's focus was now on Y/n.

💢Dennis: "GGGGRRRRRAAAAAGURURURURUR!!!"

Dennis then rushed at Y/n, surrounding his claws in ice as he began hacking, slashing, clawing and biting at the boy, but Y/n easily jumped, rolled, and slid, left, right, and center, easily dodging Dennis' blind barrage of attacks, until Y/n's back suddenly slammed against the railing on the other end of the ship. Y/n was now trapped, and Dennis new he had him cornered as the monster quickly raised both of his ice covered claws and fangs filled mouth, ready to slash and devour Y/n whole, but this didn't faze the boy at all as he simply smiled in the face of the Unique Monster. 

*SLASHING!*
*CHOMP!!!*

Dennis tried to kill Y/n once and for all, but as the beast slashed and bit down, Y/n laughed as he hopped ontop of the railing he was "trapped" behind before quickly jumping high into the air, easily dodging Dennis as the shark destroyed the Railing with his Claws and Fangs.

Y/n: "TAKE THIS!!!"

🎊"HELMSMASH!"🎊

*BBBLLLAAAMMM!!!!*

💢Dennis: "GGGGRRRRRAAAAAGURURURURUR!!"

While in mid air, Y/n quickly spun himself around and kicked down with his right leg, slamming Dennis in the head with a power Axe Kick attack, slamming Dennis's head into the metal floor of the ship as Y/n jumped off the monster's head and landed behind it, gripping his sword and smiling with even more excitement than before.

Y/n: "WHAHAHAHAA! AW MAN! I NEVER KNEW KICKING THE ASS OF A MONSTER WAY HIGHER LEVEL THAN YOU COULD BE SO MUCH FUN!!! HAHAHA! WHAHAHAHAHA-"

💢Dennis: "GURURURURU!!!"

*CLASH!!!*

Y/n: "WHA!?"

Y/n laughed with his fists on his hips proudly, only to suddenly be stopped when Dennis attacked once again, but this time, Viribus appeared infront of Y/n and quickly summoned a shield infront of the boy, blocking the attack for him and shocking the boy a bit.

Viribus: "Pay attention to the battle you amateur. This is a Unique Monster, they don't stop attacking just because you got a good hit off, especially when they're enraged."

"SHE'S RIGHT YOU KNOW!"

Rumond suddenly yelled, as he appeared ontop of the Ship's Roof, before he suddenly jumped off, landing on Dennis' back, causing the shark to quickly start panicking and thrashing around, but Rumond "calmed Hum down" as he raised his Giga Arms above his head-

🥊"MORTAL X!"🥊

*SSSLLLAAAMMM!!!!*

💢Dennis: "GARURRURRUURRR!!!"

And quickly slammed them down ontop of the Unique Monster's Head, causing Dennis' entire body to slam into metal flooring of the boat, dazing the monster. Rumond then jumped off of Dennis' head and landed infront of Y/n and Viribus, all the while, Y/n stared at the older man in awe, only to be snapped out of said arrows when Rumond slapped him on the back.

Rumond: "Well? What're ya waiting for?"

Y/n: "Eh?"

Rumond: "You brought this bad boy here."

Rumond began before he pulled out an odd yellow crystal and placed it into Y/n's hands.

Rumond: "You finish him off."

Hearing this made Y/n grow a giant smile as he quickly walked past Rumond gripping his sword in one hand and yellow crystal in the other.

Y/n began as he threw the Crystal high into the air.

Y/n: "And my Amazing Sword Skills!"

*CLASHING!*

Y/n then slashed his sword infront of himself, shattering the Ether Crystal as it fell, causing his sword to suddenly be charged with a mass of electrical power.

Y/n: 
"AND YOU GET THE GRANDEST OF FESTIVALS!!!"

Y/n roared before he gripped his sword backwards, moving the blade behind himself, before throwing it high into the air, causing the sword to spin as it flew up… and came flying back down, Y/n then got into an attack ready pose as he focused his excited face on Dennis.

🎊THUNDERSTORM SWORD…🎊

*GRIP!*

*FWO-SHI-SHI-SHI-SHI-SHI-SHI-SHIII-*

The sword than landed right back in Y/n's hand, causing him to suddenly be surrounded in the same blinding electric power as the sword. Y/n then suddenly disappeared, only leaving his sword and the tail of lightning it left behind as he dashed. In the blink of an eye, Y/n was barely seen rushing around the entire deck of the ship, doing flips, Jumps, rolls and poses as he hacked and slashed Dennis with a barrage of lighting fast attacks, before one final slash, dashing past the Unique Monster as he attacked, quickly slowing down to a stop as he did, resting his sword on his shoulder with an excited look on his face. Dennis was seen frozen, twitching every now and then as a mass Bright White Lines, all indicating where he had been slashed, covered his body… Y/n tried to look cool as he stood there… but he couldn't contain his excitement, as he suddenly huddled down into himself, before jumping up and throwing his arms above his head, yelling-

"GURURURURURURUR-"

*BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!*

Dennis tried to let out one final cry, only for it to quickly be cut off as it was suddenly struck by a mass of electricity and exploded into a brilliant orange blaze. All the while, Viribus and Rumond watched with conflicting reactions.

Rumond: "PHAHAHAAHAHAAA!"

Viribus: "Tch! That kid's an amateur…."

Rumond: "You must be going blind my friend."

Viribus: "Eh?"

Rumond: "I don't see an Amateur… I See a Monkey!"

Viribus: "A Monkey?"

Rumond: "The way that kid moves, sporadically, constantly full of energy,  and screaming like a banshee! None of those moves are his own, he's just copied a bunch of Drivers he's seen fighting monsters and monsters he's seen fighting driver and is using their own Arts better than they do… The Kid Fights Like a Monkey with a Sword! But… That Monkey can fight like hell. Underestimate a monkey cause it looks silly, and it'll rip out your throat faster than you can blink."

Rumond said all with a smile on his face, causing his Blade's eyes to widen a bit as Y/n was seen dancing around ontop of the Dead Unique Monster childishly… the Monster's mouth then flopped open, causing tt's tongue to roll out… and for the Nopon crew member to crawl out of the Dead Monster happily… only to fall onto his face in exhaustion, causing Y/n to laugh.

《Timeskip》

The sun had set on the white horizon of the seemingly endless cloud sea, the full moon sat high in the sky, shining brightly and happily over everyone below it. On Rumond's ship, everyone was seen having a good time, as oddly enough, a campfire had been lit on the deck, as the different crewmembers fried up and ate the meat of Acceptable Dennis, who, as his name entailed, tasted Acceptable. While Viribus and the crew members were seen enjoying the Unique Monster's meat, a mass of Chests were seen scattered around the deck, all of them opened and empty, except for a single chest which held all the goods the crew had salvaged and planned to sell.

While the other crew members talked, laughed, and enjoyed their food, Y/n wasn't with them at all… The red haired boy was seen laying on the top of the Boat's Roof, staring up at the moon with a look of deep contemplation… well that was until a familiar face appeared.

*SLAP!*

Y/n: "WHA!?"

Rumond: "PAHAHAHAAA! Man! I didn't expect you to be so jumpy!"

Y/n: "Tch, well sorry! But I'm thinking about something…"

Rumond suddenly appeared Next to Y/n, slapping the side of the roof he laid on, causing the boy to Jump. Rumond laughed at the boy's jump, causing Y/n to respond with an annoyed tone. Y/n then sat up on the roof, crossing his legs while Rumond stood beside said roof, The two of them being at equal height like this despite Rumond being a very tall man.

Rumond: "What were you thinking about that's got ya so Tense?"

Y/n: "An old friend."

Rumond: "Hm?"

Y/n: "She's an old friend I made a promise to a long time ago the last time we saw eachother. We promised that the next time we'd see eachother, the two of us would be the strongest drivers in all of Alrest, with super Unique and Powerful Blades!"

Rumond: "Heh! That's one hellova promise you made there! Sure you can keep it?"

Y/n: "YEAH! I'LL DIE BEFORE I BREAK A PROMISE!"

Rumond: "Alright then, where's your blade Kiddo?"

Rumond teased, causing Y/n to let out a nervous chuckle.

Y/n: "Hehe! W-Well! I-I haven't really… become a Driver yet…"

Rumond: "That so?"

Y/n: "Yeah… I haven't really gotten my hand on any Core Crystals lately."

Rumond: "Hehe, well if it isn't your lucky day."

Y/n: "Eh? What do you-"

Rumond: "Catch."

Rumond suddenly said before he tossed something to Y/n, confusing the boy as he was forced to catch it… only for his eyes to widen at what he now had in his hands.

Y/n: "W-WOAH! Th-This is a Core Crystal! A Real Blade's Core Crystal!"

Rumond: "That ain't just any core crystal, kiddo. It's quite the powerful one, belonged to an old friend of mine from a hellova long time ago."

Y/n: "It… belonged to a friend?"

Rumond: "Yup, my old partner in crime when I used to be a Freelance Driver, he kicked the bucket a long time ago when we were facing a Powerful Batch of Enemy Drivers together. He told me to pass on his Blade to someone I deemed worthy of it, someone who could handle this bad boy's intense power."

Y/n: "You… You think I'm worthy of your old friend's Blade?"

Rumond: "Yup. Hell, I never thought I'd even think of offering something like this to a snot nosed brat like you, but that display of skill you pulled off today… I don't think I can deny it any longer. You've got the skills to be one hellova Driver kid…"

Y/n: "....."

Rumond spoke with a kindness and smile that Y/n wasn't used to, causing the boy to stare at the man with eyes of awe… until.

*SLACK!*

Y/n: "GAHA!"

Rumond: "WELL! You gonna awaken that thing or what!? Or you just gonna Gawk at this old man all day! PAHAHAA!"

Rumond suddenly smacked Y/n on the back, going back to his Jolly self… but Y/n just stared down at the core crystal… but as he stared at the crystal… an odd memory came to mind…

Y/n remembered a scene similar to this one while he was much younger… he held a core crystal and was blinded by the Brilliant light of awakening… only to quickly be filled with a mass of pain… forcing himself to drop the crystal…

Y/n continued holding the Core Crystal Rumond had given to him… only to start trembling a bit… before he finally placed the crystal back in Rumond's hand, easily shocking and confusing the man.

Y/n: "I…. I Can't…"

Rumond: "Eh? But didn't you wanna be a Driver? To keep that promise to your little girlfriend? Lemme guess, you wanna find a Core Crystal yourself instead of being handed one? Heh, I can respect tha-"

Y/n: "That's not it…"

Rumond: "Hm? Then why don't you wanna awaken the core?"

Y/n: "... It's not that I don't wanna… it's that..  I Can't…"

Y/n said, rubbing his shoulder a bit as he turned away from Rumond, confusing the man once again, before he suddenly perked up in realization, growing his own saddened expression.

Rumond: "Ah… I get it… you don't have the Aptitude to become a Driver, huh?"

Y/n: "Aptitude?"

Rumond: "Everyone in this world, both humans and monsters, have a chance of having something called Aptitude when it comes to Awakening Blades and becoming Drivers… Some People are born with Aptitude and some are both Without It… and that's just how life goes. When someone without Aptitude tries to awaken a Blade… there's a high chance that they'll die right on the spot… But, the only way you know if you have Aptitude or not, is if you try to awaken a Blade and succeed or fail…"

Y/n: "...."

Rumond: "Which must mean you tried to awaken a Blade in the past?... I gotta ask, how are ya breathin?"

Y/n: "There was a lot of pain, so I just let go."

Rumond: "Huh… it's just that easy to survive that then? Guess a lotta idiots are just dumb… that or you're just one lucky kid."

Y/n: "Heh, guess so…"

Y/n chuckled, a still sad look at his face as he stared down at his hands… only to be stopped when Rumond ruffled his hair.

Rumond: "PAHAHA! What's that sad look for? Don't tell me you're giving up just like that!"

Y/n: "What else am I supposed to do?... I need to become a driver… but I don't have the Aptitude for it… I won't be able to keep my promise… I'll never see MoMo again…"

Y/n said still saddened, but Rumond only laughed once again, confusing Y/n, until.

Rumond: "There are a mass of great, terrible and majestic things in this world. Titans, Blades, Drivers, a Sea Of Clouds, and a Giant Tree in the middle of it. If all this stuff exists, then I'm willing to bet everything I have that there is something out there that'll let someone without the Aptitude to become a Driver Awaken a Blade anyway!"

Y/n: "You really so?"

Rumond: "Yup! And even if there isn't, I know that won't stop you!"

Y/n: "Eh?"

Rumond: "Keeping a Promise Is What Makes a Man a Man! That's what you said, right? Well? You're a man aren't you?"

Y/n: "... Yeah… Yeah! I am a man!"

Rumond: "Then Never Falter! Search Everysingle corner of this vast world until you find the key to becoming a Driver! SHOW THE WORLD THE POWER OF A PROMISE!"

Y/n: "Yeah! YEAH I WILL!"

Rumond: "And when you do…"

Rumond began, before he revealed his old friend's core crystal once again.

Rumond: "You come right back to me, cause I'll be waiting to hand this bad boy over to ya!"

Rumond said with a smile, causing Y/n to be amazed at the man's words… when suddenly Rumond slapped Y/n on the back once again with a gigantic smile on his face.

Rumond: "MAKE THAT PROMISE TO ME, ALRIGHT KID! PROMISE ME YOU'LL BECOME A DRIVER NO MATTER WHAT AND TAKE THIS BLASTED THING OFF MY HANDS!"

Y/n: "YEAH! YOU GOT IT POPS! IT'S A PROMISE! AND I'LL DIE BEFORE I EVEN THINK OF BREAKING IT!"

Rumond: 
"PAH! AHAA! HA! HA! HHAAAAAA!!!"

Y/n: 
"WHA! HA! HA! HA! HAAAAA!!!! IT'S A FESTIVAL! A PROMISE FESTIVAL!"

Rumond: "YOU SAID IT KIDDO!"

The two of them laughed loudly together, causing the other ship crewmembers nearby to watch the two in a mass of awe… except for Viribus, who simply watched in a mass of annoyance.

Nopon crew: "Meh-Meh, captain-captain sure loves that boy."

Gormotti Crew: "You should have seen those two fighting. It was crazy."

Human Crew 1: "Heh, it's almost like their family."

Human Crew 2: "HAHA! Yeah! I wouldn't be surprised if that Kid turned out to be Captain's!"

Viribus: "Tch, they're both way too loud…"

Rumond in background: "AW COME ON VIRIBUS! LAUGH WITH US! PAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!"

Y/n: "YEAH! GET EXCITED ALREADY! IT'S A FESTIV-

The night was calm… The Waves of the Cloud Sea were heard calmly clashing against Rumond's Titan Ship as the wind of the Titan Happily sailing through the water calmly blew through people's ears. The Deck of the ship was empty of people as almost everyone was inside sleeping… almost being the key word, as Y/n was seen lying against the top of the Ship's Roof, his arms behind his head as he slept there… his mouth wide open as the boy snored loudly into the night… until…

Y/n: "... H-Huh?..."

An odd sound was suddenly heard, almost as if an insect was crawling around… the sound instantly woke Y/n up, causing him to blink as he looked around in confusion.

Y/n: "Hello? Pops? Viribus? Guys?..."

Y/n said as he looked around the empty ship in a mass of confusion.

Y/n: "That's weird… I could have sworn I heard someone call my name just now…"

Y/n said to himself as he continued looking around the Empty Titan ship, before he shrugged and went back to laying down… but there was one problem with this…

Y/n: "WHO'S THERE!?"

Y/n suddenly hopped onto his feet and drew his sword off of his back, looking around with a fight ready expression… only for it to soften into one of confusion as nothing appeared.

Y/n: "Ok, I know I heard someone call my name… the hell's going on?"

Y/n asked himself as he continued looking around… when suddenly…

Y/n perked up, as he looked down from the Ship's Roof, only for his eyes to widen when he saw the shining golden chest he had salvaged earlier, sitting all alone on the deck of the ship… Y/n quickly jumped down onto the deck.

Y/n: "What the… You're… in this chest?"

Y/n: "Y-You heard me and Pops talking about that?"

*Tikichiki*

Y/n: ".... Y-Yeah… I do wanna be a Driver… I have to become one! To see Momo again, to Keep my promise with Pops."

Y/n: "Y-You can?"

Y/n: "What do I have to do?"

Y/n: "A Promise? What kind of Promise?"

Y/n then took his sword and walked towards the chest, he got close to it and reeled his sword back, before-

He slammed his sword against the Chest's lock, easily shattering it. Y/n then opened the chest… only to reach inside, and pull out something odd…

Y/n: "A Box? It looks really old… and what's with these symbols?"

Y/n was silent for a moment… before he opened the box… only for a golden light to shine in his face as he did… before another odd object was revealed…

Y/n: "W-Woah… a Golden Core Crystal… I… never knew they came in other colors…"

Y/n: "It's special?"

Y/n: "You're inside this thing?... so all I have to do is Resonate with and awaken you?"

Y/n gulped as he stared at and held the odd golden core crystal for a moment, before he suddenly grew a determined expression and gripped the Crystal Tightly.

Y/n thoughts: "I Will Keep my Promises! To MoMo! And Pops too! It's all or nothing! Either I Keep My Promises… I become a Driver Or… 
No! There is no Or! 
I WILL BECOME A DRIVER! AND NOTHING WILL STOP ME!"

"NOW! 
AWAKEN!"

Y/n gripped the golden core crystal tightly, causing it to shine brightly… when suddenly an odd laughter was heard, before Y/n began to scream in a mass of pain… but as he did… the top of the Crystal Began to Crack… 

Unleashing A Brand New Chaos Into This World…

Suddenly, a monstrous roar was unleashed from the golden Core Crystal, as the blinding golden light died down, before turning a Navy Blue and Shooting High into the air… in the distance, a mass of Navy Blue, Red, Green and Purple pillars of light were seen shooting high into the sky from all across the cloud sea… until 52 different lights had appeared…

Y/n: "AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!"

Y/n was seen screaming in a mass of pain, tears flowing from his eyes as he stood there as odd Green Marking began to appear all over his body.

*SLAM!*

Rumond: "THE HELL'S GOING ON OUT HE-... Oh Great Architect…"

Suddenly, Rumond, Viribus, and the ship's crew burst out into the deck, only to see Y/n standing there, gritting his teeth as he tried to silence his screams… but easily failing as he was surrounded in the oddly demonic blue light…

Viribus: "That light…"

Rumond: "Y/N!"

Rumond cried out as he quickly rushed towards the boy… but…

Viribus: "RUMOND! WAIT!"

*GLASHING!*

Rumond: "GAHAA!!!"

Rumond Ran towards Y/n, but as soon as he got close, he was suddenly slashed away by an invisible force, sending him stumbling back away from the Blue Pillar and Boy.

Rumond: "What the hell!?"

Rumond asked when suddenly he saw a long insect-like leg retracting into Y/n's Back, the end of the leg dripping with a tiny bit of Rumond's Blood.

Rumond: "What in Architect's Name was that!?"

Viribus: "An Undead!"

Rumond: "A What?"

Viribus: "I-I don't know… Seeing that thing… and that light… the word just came to mind… Undead…"

Unsatisfied with this, Rumond growled as he turned towards Y/n, only to be shocked when he saw the odd core crystal in Y/n's hands.

Rumond: "Y/N! BOY! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!? YOU DON'T HAVE THE APTITUDE TO AWAKEN WHATEVER THAT THING IS! LET GO OF IT! BEFORE YOU GET YOURSELF KILLED!"

Y/n: "......."

Rumond: "YOU HEAR ME?! DON'T BE AN IDIOT! JUST LET GO!"

Y/n: "I WON'T! NO WAY! NEVER!"

Rumond: "What!?"

Y/n: "I… I have to keep my promises! I HAVE TO BECOME A DRIVER! I… I can't give up! I'M A MAN! AND A MAN KEEPS EVERY PROMISE ME MAKES!"

Rumond: "You Fool… Just Because you Break a Promise! Doesn't make you any less of a Man… Owning up to your Failures And being willing to fail in the first place… THAT MAKES A MAN MORE MANLIER THAN ANYTHING!"

Y/n: "... I Know… I Know that already Pops…"

Rumond: "THEN LET GO OF THAT DAMN THING ALREADY!"

Y/n: "I CAN'T!... This Core… Whatever's inside of it… It Promised me… That It could Turn Me Into a Driver… If I was this close to achieving my promise and just Gave Up! I… I COULDN'T LIVE WITH MYSELF! I MIGHT ASWELL JUST DIE!"

Rumond: "...."

Y/n: "If I gave up right now… and now Momo the next day… I don't know what I would do… what would I tell her… That I wasted all these years keeping every promise but her?... That I was so close to becoming a Driver and just gave up!?

The odd crystal let out another deafening roar, causing even more marking to appear on Y/n and making him scream in a mass of even more pain than before… all the while, Rumond watched, his fist clenched tightly as his face held a mass of conflicting emotions.

Rumond thoughts: "Dammit… how can this 15 Year old kid have convictions stronger than a 50 Year old Man… I DON'T GET IT!"

*SLAM!*

Rumond thought as he punched the floor of the ship in anger… forced to watch as Y/n struggled against the Golden Core…

"... He can survive…"

Hearing this made Rumond's eyes widen, as he quickly turned, only to see Viribus had spoken.

Viribus: "If things continue like this… then whatever's in that Core Crystal… it will consume him… Reduce His Body to a Husk and take control of it from the inside out…"

Rumond: "What?"

Viribus: "But! If Y/n can overpower the Will of the Undead he's just unleashed… Then he can take control of it! Become the Undead's Master! He will become the Undead's Driver."

Rumond: "Viri… how do you-?"

Viribus: "I don't know… it's like… a memory just came back to me… something from a past life… But! We can't question that now! We have to help Y/n somehow!"

Rumond stared at Y/n for a moment… the Look of Pain encapsulated Y/n's entire face… But Rumond then looked down at Y/n's hands… only to see the boy Gripping the Golden Core Crystal harder and harder than before… seeing this then made Rumond smile as he stood up and crossed his arms.

Rumond: "All he needs is a Stronger Will, huh?"

Viribus: "Yes, we should encourage Him! Or-"

Rumond: "PAHAHA! We don't need to do a damn thing!"

Viribus: "Huh?"

Rumond: "If it involves Y/n and a Promise… There's not a thing in this world with a stronger will to succeed. AIN'T THAT BOYO!?"

Y/m was seen gritting his teeth tightly, gripping the golden core crystal with all his might, a mass of pain going throughout all of Y/n's body, surrounded in a blinding Navy Blue Light, Y/n struggled as he focused only on the Core Crystal and his pain.

Y/n Thoughts: 
"I Can't Die! I Won't Die! I can't Betray Momo! I won't betray the Promise I Made To Her! No Matter What! I will become a Driver! I will see her again! I WON'T FAIL! I WON'T BREAK MY PROMISE! NO MATTER WHAT!"

The golden core crystal then suddenly began to crack as Y/n's pained face became one of determination… All the while, the Legs and horn of an odd armored Hercules Beetle was seen crawling out of the Core Crystal.

Y/n: "I WILL NOT GIVE UP! I WILL NOT DIE! 
I AM GOING TO KEEP MY PROMISE! 
I WILL BECOME A DRIVER!

Gripping the Golden Core Crystal with all the might he could muster, Y/n cussed the crystal to Crack more and more and more, until suddenly it shattered into a 11 different Golden shards and 1 large Crimson Red Shard in the shape of a Spade, as the bright Pillar of blue light suddenly disappeared, leaving Y/n standing there with a Determined look on his face, the Armored Hercules Beetle that was inside of the Crystal had only been freed for a moment, before it was suddenly crushed between Y/n's hands.

*FWOO-SHI-SHI-SHI-SHI-SHI-SHI-SHI-SHI-SHI-SHI-SHI!!!*

Y/n: "GAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!"

Suddenly the 11 different Golden Shards then slammed into Y/n's body like a gatling gun launching bullets, causing Y/n to spasm as he was blasted with the barrage of shards… But then the Crimson red shard then shined brightly and got ready to stab into Y/n's Heart.

*FWOOO-*

*SMASHING!!!*

The Spade got ready to impale Y/n's heart, flying towards it with extreme speed, but Y/n quickly grabbed his sword from the ground and slashed it through the air, shattering the Crimson Shard as it came flying towards him… the Spade was then absorbed into Y/n's sword, all the while, the Hercules Beetle was absorbed into the flesh on Y/n's Wrist. Y/n was seen panting as he gripped his sword… when suddenly…

*THUMP-BUMB!*

Y/n: "GGGGAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!"

A mass of pain shot through Y/n once again, as his body was surrounded in an odd Navy Blue Light. 

Rumond: "Y/N!"

Viribus: "KID!"

The Driver and Blade called out in a mass of concern, as Y/n struggled to turn around and face them… but as he did… the two of them saw something odd, as the Boy's Form changed for a moment…

Rumond then blinked… only to see Y/n standing there back to normal… but his eyes were glazed over as the boy was wobbling left and right… obviously in a daze…

Y/n: "... P-Po-Pops…"

Y/n then began falling forwards, but Rumond quickly rushed forwards and caught Y/n before he fell onto his face, holding the boy in his arms.

Rumond: "Y/n! Lad is that you? Come on! Wake up kiddo! You can't be dead!"

Rumond said in a mass of panicked concern as Viribus and the rest of the crew watched in a mass of anticipation… when suddenly, Y/n weakly held his hand high into the air.

Y/n: "H-Hey… P-Pops… I… I did it…"

*SHING!*

Y/n held out his hand, causing a flash of Blue Light to appear in it, as an odd sword was summoned into Y/n's hand, shocking everyone.

Y/n: "I'm… a… Dri-... ver…"

*Clang*

Y/n then went limp, dropping the sword onto the ground as he lost consciousness. Seeing this caused Rumond to go silent for a moment… until…

Rumond: "... hehehe… Hahaha!... PAHAHAAHAHAAHAHAAAAA!!!"

Rumond suddenly began laughing loudly as he hugged Y/n's unconscious body close to himself, as he laughed he had a mass of tears in his eyes.

Rumond: "WHAT DID I TELL YOU! THERE ARE A MASS OF GREAT, TERRIBLE AND MAJESTIC THINGS IN THIS WORLD! IF ANYONE WAS GONNA FIND A WAY TO BECOME A DRIVER WITHOUT THE APTITUDE I KNEW IT WAS GONNA BE YOU KIDDO! 
PAHAHAHAHAAA! PHAHAHAAHHAAA! 
MAKING A PROMISE WITH YOU, REALLY DOES MAKE LIFE FEEL LIKE ONE HELLOVA FESTIVAL!!!"

Rumond laughed and cried out loudly as Y/n smiled in his unconscious form, all the while Viribus and the crew watched, Viribus smiling while the Crew erupted into tears, quickly running over to their captain and Y/n's side.
