(Skyborns)

Midnight was surprisingly the one not to answer. And Green freaked out.

"Midnight, you'd better answer me!" She hung up on the 15th voicemail before sighing. Midnight was always keen on answering. What was happening?

~

Midnight had a reason to not answer.

His arm was red as he let is soak in the cold water that Pichu insisted he used, tears coating his face as his mind drifted deep into the dark.

His family was already trying to mend the wounds that they had created. But between rogues and Green, it wasn't helping. So he was breaking down. He heard his phone buzz, but he didn't move as he eyed the water. Pichu went to get it when he spoke.

"Don't." Pichu paused as it hummed, marking the voicemail taking over. "Leave it. It's just Green. Leave her to waste." Pichu frowned at that.

~

Taen had to save him. Rednal sent out the distress signal and Taen answered. Midnight was hiding in the mountains, trembling as the wind brought the temperature well below his needs. He had a long sleeve jacket on, hiding the scars that he had done to himself from what was happening. Taen ran over and pulled him into a hug, gaining Midnight's attention. He carried him into a cave to get out of the wind.

~

Green finally went looking for the small Wave, fearing the worse. She found his aura, but when she found him, she had to pause. Taen and Jaern were with him, tending to his arms as he trembled from the cold. She slowly went over as Jaern finished up, letting him rest against the Ice Mage.

"What happened?" The duo turned before Taen laid Midnight against the older man and went over. His soft voice touched her ears as he did his best to answer.

"Midnight hasn't been doing too well... Rednal reached out when he vanished... found him nearly dead from cold... mentally and physically damaged..." She frowned as she scanned the Wave.

"But... why didn't he reach out to me?" Taen paused.

"Maybe... mental pain... had something with it?" She hummed at that.

~

Midnight woke up to feeling warmth wrapped around him. He made a noise that got someone to get to his side. His eyes touched Jaern's eyes as he made a whine.

"Dad..." Jaern smiled as he picked him up, gently swaying him to calm him down as he paused. "What happened...?" He was placed down in a seated position before he noticed his father's hands move.

'You were found up on the mountain with scars. Me and Taen found you and brought you down. Your senior joined us and is waiting-' He paused at Midnight reaction to hearing about his senior's presence. 'Midnight? Is there something between you and your senior?'

"I... don't want to talk about it..." He laid down and turned away as he paused. That's when a foreign voice touched his ears.

"Midnight... at least talk to me about it?" He looked up at his father, surprised at the fact that he had spoken. Jaern got a little shy before Midnight crawled into his arms.

"Ok..."

~

When Jaern explained the problem, Green felt something wrong. Midnight never got this attached to a problem. But after consulting his allies, she was actually wrong.

"Yeah... this is more normal than what you believe." She stared at Admiral as she watched Midnight tackle Rednal, gaining giggles from Taen and Jaern. "Midnight will get attached to something from simple like a small bruise from a bad landing to tears from a pounding. So Midnight getting attached about this isn't surprising."

"But he's never shown this-"

"Remember when Midnight wouldn't leave Lapis after he got attacked while you and Yellow were here?" Green nodded. "He showed it then. He has always shown it. It's more of have you spotted it? Because I have caught most of them when they hit." Green gulped as she looked down at the small Wave, who was locked onto Pichu as a playfully teased him.

"Is there a reason?"

"Always. But the deepness of that reason is another story. Like for Lapis's incident, it wasn't very deep. But something like this might be deeper. His actions around the topic show how deep the reason is." Green hummed as Midnight was picked up by Jaern as he got tired.

"So... the reason here might be pretty deep?" Admiral nodded.

"This is just a part of his family. He gets really attached to that." Rednal took the smaller boy from his father as Taen rubbed his eyes and pulled out Kyurem. Farewells were said as Midnight drifted off to sleep and they separated.

"So... how to close that gap? Because he won't talk to me." Admiral hummed as she watched the other two take off.

"I think you need to reconnect with him and trust what you don't trust. You don't trust half his family. So trusting them may get him to help you reconnect." Green frowned.

"How would you know? I trust his family."

"Do you trust Jaern? Taen? Red Eyes?" Green looked away before she paused.

"Why are you listing those guys?"

"Jaern's Midnight's Father, Red Eyes is Rednal and Taen is Midnight's Adopted Stepbrother." Green stared at her as she continued. "The only one I'm not sure how you'll trust is Amber, being his stepbrother."

"I trust Amber."

"Opal doesn't."

"See... we are two different people. Opal hardly trusts me." Admiral frowned as she paused.

"What?"

"She doesn't like that I hate Onyx. However, I only half-hate him. He makes it very hard to keep the hatred up." Admiral chuckled.

"That makes since... well, I can get you a list of his family. Or Purple can. Whoever beats the other to it." Green hummed at that.

~

It was clear that she only seemed to trust two people of Midnight's family; Porcelain and Sage. It was either that or she had no idea who they were. So she asked Purple since Admiral was busy.

"Oh... Chelsea is his stepsister-by-marriage." Green raised an eyebrow as he gulped. "Jaern's first Wife, Kayla, was raped before they attempted their first child. Jaern didn't push the child away, in fact accepted it despite another man forcing it into the world. So Chelsea is only related to Midnight thanks to Jaern and Kayla's marriage." Green hummed as he scanned the paper Admiral provided. "Jaeyla is Chelsea's sister, born within the first marriage, and Kayla is the mother of the two girls and Elite 4 member of Torren."

"So that's the... Torren family?"

"Yeah. Jaern labeled them based on the birthplace and home of the family. So Midnight and his siblings would be the Aloje family." She hummed.

"Rednal... Admiral also called him Red Eyes." Purple smiled.

"They're the same person. Rednal went under the name Red Eyes when he joined the Pinchers, but it's now the past after Midnight pulled him back from the dark." She hummed.

"I know Joel, Sage and Porcelain... Malov?"

"Sister of the poor group. Crepe may have mentioned her once or twice." She paused before it hit her. Crepe didn't just mention her.

"Oh... no wonder I thought it was familiar..." She hummed. "I know most of the others because they're Dexters, but Jovi, Lily, and Erma?"

"Erma's the mother of the Aloje group and Chairperson of the Rangers." Green let out a soft 'oh'. "Lily is the mother of the Dajelae group and Professor's assistant in Orre. Jovi's her daughter and Amber's sister." She hummed as he paused. "All good now?"

"I think so... I just need to meet those that I haven't and bond with those that I hate."

~

Finding them wasn't the problem. It was bonding with the ones she didn't like.

Rednal made it easy. Midnight had fallen asleep in his arms, so he had let him rest on his back while he did some cleaning of the base.

"I just don't see the resemblance." Rednal chuckled softly.

"Yeah... not a lot of people do. Malov stands out though. Sage makes more sense as he and Joel share a lot in common. But Malov stands out when we stand together. Even I look more like Dad then Malov does. Though... me and Joel are the closest." She hummed as Midnight purred.

Taen was only easy because of Tiffany. The faded Ice Mage hardly moved as Green connected with him with a soft voice, one she used with Lapis whenever he was having a bad day. He never attacked her nor did he ever attempt to argue. He simply listened to her soft words as she ran a hand across his back.

Jaern only worked with her because he didn't want to deal with Pink, who was trying to get him to give her an answer.

"Darn.... I can see why she's annoying." Jaern was too busy chuckling to respond to Pink as she let out a complaint.

But after that, he was easy. He hardly spoke as they bonded, but it was better than backlash. It got her mind moving.

"Real quick... how well do you know your family? I mean... you hardly say a word to anyone, yet your family understands before you make a move." Jaern wrote something down on a note card that he had brought before handing it to her.

"My family has learned to understand my silence as I have been using it since they met me. Each of them understand my silence differently. The Torren family understands when I need to hide, the Aloje family understands when I need help, the Dajelae family understands when I need to rest and the Kalos family understands when I need to talk. They all know to help me in a way that I can fell safe and they will gain help from me."

~

Midnight did finally talk to her after that. She entered as a loud hiss followed. That wasn't good.

"Give that back!"

"No! You need to stop that! I moved them for a reason!"

Her mind clicked as she went over. Rednal, using the height difference to his advantage, kept a knife out of Midnight's reach while the smaller boy tried to get to it. She took her chances, grabbing Midnight by his waist and pulled him away from the blonde, giving him a chance to rehide the knives.

"No! Let me go!" She got him to the couch as tears rolled down his face as she hugged him. "Please! Let me finish!"

"Midnight-" He trembled in her grip before she pulled away to look at him. "Listen... I'm sorry for causing this. But please, listen to me, please?" He got quiet before he finally nodded and rubbed his face. "Better... now..."

(Crimson)

Admiral was quiet as she jotted down a latter to her grandfather, not risking sending it to her father. This was important info that shouldn't go to just anyone. Yeah, her senior was lurking, but like hell she would give it to her. She signed it before rolling it up and putting it in Eevee's vest.

"Go." It made a quick noise before it raced out to deliver the letter. She sighed, hoping no one tried to intercept it.

~

She later had to do something she had told herself she wouldn't do.

Damage allies.

Such as now, where she had Cedar pinned down as he passed out from lack of air. She waited until he stopped struggling to loosen the rope's grip. He unconsciously gasped before relaxing once more, not moving towards waking up. She gulped as she got up from his back before she brought her foot to her hand, a light squeeze activating the brace. A shadowy figure appeared behind her as she spoke.

"Help me tie him up and get him into room 7."

~

The others freaked out when Cedar vanished. Admiral had to act surprised until they left it alone. They kept looking, but she was able to breathe a little bit. She locked her dorm and activated a shadow screen. On it had Cedar as he tried to find an escape, hope leaving his face. She let her voice wander into the area, masking it with a echo to throw him off.

"Look who's awake." He jerked up, the ropes holding him from zapping the room. "I was wondering when you'd return to the conscious world."

"Who are you-" He trembled as he slightly got up. "What do you want with me?"

"See..." Seeing him tense up at the voice almost made her chuckle. "If I told you that, I'd have to kill you."

"Why...?" Hearing the sobs coat his voice caused a sadistic smile to cross her face.

"Because what you know is too dangerous. But if you do well, I'll let you go. But we'll see..."

~

Isaac solved it.

Admiral wasn't able to handle it until he confronted her about it. She entered his office as a cold feeling filled the air. See, she hated it since it reminded her of Operation Brighton. In fact, that's the exact feel she got when entering. She would've left if Isaac didn't speak.

"Admiral." She jumped at the sound of his voice. She didn't notice the tone as she gripped the wall.

"Isaac... you scared me for a sec. What's with the..." He paused.

"Oh that? Pick your favorite between Marcus and Ice." She stopped. "That meeting was entirely not needed, but whatever. What do you need?" She gulped.

"I- just coming to... see how you were doing..." He hummed as he seemed to eye something.

"Then close the door. I want to discuss something with you." She hesitated to follow his request before she closed the door. For some reason there were 2 clicks instead of one. She didn't ask until her mind alerted her of the situation with his words. "Come look at what I found." She went over as he handed her a paper. She scanned it before she stopped. It had a rather threatening amount of notes about the Crimson Seal.

"How long have you been working on this?"

"Eh, few days." She gulped softly as he continued. "Why?"

"This is just a lot of info. Though... I shouldn't be surprised with you..." He hummed before he said something that made her freeze up.

"Well... I'm sure you'll know most of it since a lot points to you."

She dropped the paper. How the hell- her mind was in a haze as she went to the door to leave. However, it wouldn't open. Her mind traced back to the two clicks. How the hell did he manage to lock the door without moving? His voice seemed to drop as he spoke again.

"Why don't you take a seat and talk?" She trembled. Ok no. That weird feeling wasn't a meeting that happened before she walked in. This was all Isaac. "And maybe... if you're lucky... I won't expose this to the world."

~

Admiral gulped as she eyed the foes as they dropped to the ground. So close... yet so far. Eevee sat down beside her as it stared off, a tired feeling crossing over. Igglybuff wasn't doing any better, having to already drift off on her shoulder. Admiral finally gulped before she placed Igglybuff at Eevee's side, causing the duo to look up at her as she knelt down.

"Look... both of you go. Me and Geigroach will hold the line. Go."

Eevee blinked a little while Igglybuff got onto its back. It finally ran, carrying the smaller pokemon to safety. She sighed before facing forward.

~

Igglybuff and Eevee had gotten separated, but thankfully Igglybuff got to safety. Crepe saved it from a large attack by some angry pokemon. It hugged his arm as he safely got away.

"Are you ok?" It trembled as tears formed in its small eyes. It cried into his sleeve as he rubbed its head. "Easy... let's get you to the Union."

~

It rested with Green's Wigglytuff, who was very gentle to the small yet elder pokemon. It purred as Wigglytuff swayed it, helping it rest. Crepe watched as Diamond hummed.

"That's definitely the Seal. But where's the rest?"

~

It was discovered later that Eevee had taken a lot of hits for the smaller pokemon as Midnight discovered it weeks later washed up on shore. It was struggling to stay awake and had enough wounds to look dead. When Midnight found it, it was trying to get out of the water. He ran over as it landed face first in the sand. It went to stand up when he picked it up.

"Eevee?" It cuddled up to his warmth as he gulped. "Come on..."

~

He got it wrapped in a towel and worked to get it back to full strength. It often didn't move and wasn't hard to take care of when it came to the wounds and other things. However, sleep and food were interesting. Pichu was up one time trying to work on a file when it discovered the Normal type still awake, staring at the window as  if waiting or watching for something. Pichu paused before going back to work.

~

Midnight hummed from what Pichu had told him. Eevee was currently getting comfy with its new bed, almost unsure about it. He had finished getting food ready, so he went over.

"Eevee?" It looked up as he placed down a bowl of food. "There." It stared blankly at the bowl before going back at him. He then paused before kneeling down. "Was there something certain Admiral fed you?" It didn't answer as a certain look crossed its face. Clearly, food wasn't a first thought. It then went over and sniffed the bowl. "Would you rather have seafood?" It paused before it finally decided to try the offered food, gentle taking a few bites. It then purred a little as it smiled. "Good?" It nodded as he gently petted its back, feeling the slightly wet fur that was still drying. Its vest was with Pichu, getting treated from the damage. Eevee finished before smiling at him. "See? Not so bad." Eevee purred as it leaned against his touch. "Now... can we talk?" It nodded as it laid down beside him. "I heard you didn't sleep last night. Why?" It whined a little before remembering Admiral. She was probably out there right now, getting hurt for their safety. "Eevee?" He picked it up as tears rolled down its face. "Is... this about Admiral?" It nodded as it rested against him. "Hey... I'm sure she's ok... But you need to sleep." It looked away at the thought. "Come on. Let's get you to bed. You are probably tired..."

~

Darilcis was actually the one to get it to sleep. He also took care of the small Eevee as it rested against the powerful Dark type. Green hummed as Onyx paused.

"He's not normally this... cuddly..." Wispa purred.

"Caring's another good word for it..." Green chuckled at their words.

"Darilcis isn't like this?" They shook their heads as Darilcis finished grooming Eevee's rough fur, working to get it comfortable with a helping hand. It relaxed against him, a gentle smile resting on its face as it slept. Green hummed. "The poor thing... I wonder what it went through to get like this." They hummed as Darilcis moved enough to drape a small blanket over it, warming it up a bit.

~

Admiral gasped out as she slammed into a tree. Everything hurt as Geigroach was able to get in front of her. She was barely able to press a button on her Communication Device before she blacked out.

~

Parchment had every right to snap.

She walked in and tore apart a part of the attacking group before joining Geigroach at Admiral's side. The bug-like Pokemon looked at her as she scoffed.

"Let's show them real power. No holding back."

~

They got the four to reunite after Admiral woke up and was treated. Igglybuff let out a few tears as it jumped into her arms since it was so concerned. Eevee took a minutes as it was asleep when she came out. Admiral smiled at Eevee's sleepy confusion. Eevee, after she gave it such responsibility, had hardly found time to sleep. She gently called out to it as she cleaned up Igglybuff from the tears.

"Eevee...?" It blinked a little before turning to her call. Almost instantly, it got up and ran over, slightly limping from its previous injuries. It broke her heart to see the Normal type in such a state. She took it into her arms as soon as it got into her reach. "Oh... you poor thing... I'm hear..." Hear it sniffle got her to smile a little. Her little warrior had finally brought out its soft side. Both a blessing and curse on it, yet it had made it this far. "Good job... you did great... shh..."

(Mystery of Stars)

*Past...*

A scream hit the air as a small pokemon slammed into a small kid. A taller male looked down upon the kid as someone ran over to them.

"Leave Vitor alone!" The child, Vitor, teared up as he was pulled into a hug.

"Why? He did this."

"Leave it, Larkspur!"

"Ynx..."

*End*

~

Vitor's mind returned to the present when a knock touched the door to his private lab. He stayed quiet, hoping to fade away when Kellyn's voice cut through.

"Vitor." He sighed.

"Open." Kellyn entered as he looked up. "What?"

"I saw what happened. You can't just-"

"My suit got destroyed and Ynx.. she was wounded." Kellyn stopped.

"Ok... Ynx needs to stop being an excuse... but your suit?" Vitor nodded.

"The flames burnt through all the way. I'm lucky I wasn't burnt." He gulped as he felt Kelly touch his shoulder.

"Then..." He sighed. "What are you going to do?"

"The Arena will be closed until I know more." He then sighed as he petted Ynx, who was weakly resting beside him.

~

He was blinded as he pressed a button on the Stasis Tank. He could hear the phone ringing, but there wasn't time. The tank started draining out as he typed some commands down. He was in a suit that he had labeled as "project only". But that wasn't the point. He then opened the tank when it was low enough, revealing a small creature. It paused as he stepped in and closed the door, signaling the machine to start filling up the tank again. He smiled at the it as concern washed across its face.

"It's ok..." He felt tears run down his face as he held it in his hands. "We'll make it..."

Meanwhile, Ynx had gotten outside the small lab, getting a safe distance away before looking back. She knew Vitor would not be the same. Which was why she was going to get help now, not knowing when they would be needed. She let a tear escape before she continued to head towards the only person she knew that could help.

~

*Years Later*

The others had already torn down Larkspur and his allies for his damage. They were now trying to get CURIE to snap out of their daze, not knowing what to do. A rather familiar voice raced through the air as something raced forward.

"VITOR!"

Kellyn jumped to his feet as Nicole and Ynx raced onto the battlefield. The Grass type looked restored as she easily pinned Urayne down, taking no time with pulling it off. Kellyn was frozen as Nicole pulled out another pokeball, sending out her Delta Charizard. Charizard got into the air before firing down on any enemies that were thinking about getting up. She raced over to CURIE and used the Ynx v Urayne fight to cover up what she was doing.

"Vitor. Listen to me." CURIE didn't move as she grasped his hand. "I know what happened. Please stop." He pulled his hand back.

"I don't know who you are but-"

"Vitor! Listen! You remember Ynx, right?" There wasn't an answer as CURIE stared at the Grass type. "You do, don't you? Ynx told me what happened. She came to me for help, knowing what you were about to do. Look at her growth." CURIE couldn't speak as he stared at Ynx, who was gracefully dodging and blocking attacks from Urayne. His voice returned, this time with more feeling.

"Ynx..."  She smiled as she took his hands in hers.

"Vitor... I know what happened. We can fix this. Just tell Urayne to stop fighting and let us help." He didn't answer before he squeezed her grip, almost accepting. However, he couldn't get the words out to get Urayne to stop before he sat down. Worry crossed her face. "Vitor? Vitor!" Ynx avoided a blow and ran over upon the concerned tone, which got Urayne to stop firing. She managed to get the helmet off as he trembled, fresh air touching him once more. The others ran over as she let him lean against him. He managed a soft voice, one that got a new reaction out of her.

"Nicole..." She trembled a little as a tear escaped and she buried her face in his shoulder. Kellyn's hand touched her shoulder.

"Vitor?" There was no answer as she felt arms wrap around her, hugging her close as she calmed down.
