Reaper and Geno were living happily in ReaperTale. They were married, no wars were being held, everything was perfect. They were hoping to even have a child soon. Until Fate stepped in.

She took the god and glitch and spilt them into two. They turned Geno into Error and a copy of himself, each having half of the piece of a soul. They transformed reaper into Ink and a copy of himself, the copy having half of a soul and the other half in Broomie.

The only way to regain their past lives was if they merged the correct souls back. It's hard though for a) none of them remember that they aren't complete, and b) a part of the God of Death's soul is inside a paintbrush. All they can do is follow the missing feeling that they all have.
